I think one of the more unique sources of inspiration for decoding Azoetia has been to compare its different editions with each other. There are implied meanings between the lines of what was changed, added, removed and remained the same.

It just really shows how much thought and care was placed into the grimoire

Thinking on this, I've noticed certain thought patterns I tend to gravitate towards. The cyclical mythos truly dictates the meaning of the entire piece - both inner and outer, which really reflects this idea of the sabbatic double helix (such as the dual altars) that Chumbley presents in Azoetia.

It spells out the duality within unity, the transcendence beyond that duality, and the element of spirit that opens up eight portals that lead towards the Sabbat. Then, it reveals the keys to those portals.

I think what I'm trying to say is that its a cypher that allows one to engage with mysteries both within (the self) and beyond (the other).

Do you like American country music or do you hate it, like normal person?

I grew up in Wyoming and was swarmed by it everywhere, so I'm pretty indifferent to it at this point ngl. I do enjoy Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, but nothing really recent for country music artists.

I'm much more into rock and alternative music. Been especially into Phonk right now

The Witches' Sabbat is....

A physical event like in a dining room, forest, or field.

An event in the astral realms/otherworld/dream world.

A third thing that is both of these occurring at the same time.

Curious how others have experienced the Witches' Sabbat. Apparently Gerald Gardner and Austin Osman Spare got into quite a row over who had actually attended the True Witch Sabbat!

Thinking you're "nice" or behave "cute" or think you're "passive" or "good natured" doesn't mean you're not actually fucking up a lot, prone to mistakes, or being self destructive. Goodness in your spirit doesn't stop you from seriously harming yourself or perpetuating self destructive patterns of behaving and thinking or developing destructive habits.

I've been working on this mini-tarot card box project idea for a while. The decks' original cardboard boxes get beat to hell in a bag and if you can find a nice wood box that's the right size it all ends up really bulky.

This is my favorite box so far, I've done fancier, but I dig this because it's like anti-fancy, it's like monastic. It's made by hand tools out of claro walnut. I think the very distinctive grain and character works well in a small item, and the tie closure is my first foray into leather work.

We work with the Earth and ancient energies and entities that will be here long after we're gone.

Working with these energies while participating in the destruction of land and resources for a silly little picture is embarrassing.

A while back I had taken the time to draw out this description of Andrew's altar. You can really feel his style through how he sets up the space. Made up of two separate altars: the High Altar and the working altar, they each serve a different purpose.

But, both heavily emphasise the images, icons and bodies of the various entities within the spiritual congress. The positioning of the different items have various meanings, perhaps how he arranged the fetishes on the working altar depended on the season (or other specific timing).

The double altars can represent the double nature of the sabbatic space, the seen and unseen circle.

Rereading through all this helped inspire my own interpretation of the double altar space. Shown in the second design, I spent time infusing my other practices into the design. On the top surface, the elemental weapons are placed around the altar - each placed at a specific point of the 8 pointed star. The Fetish Tree (Stang) is inserted in the center, where I would hang charms, talismans, amulets, etc.

Inside, there is a second 8 pointed star that would house the fetishes inside - each positioned at a point. The idea that I could rotate them below depending on the working. By condencing the altars in this way, it is easier to house the altar in the center of the circle (my preferred altar spot).

I'll be hunting for some good candidates for the project, hopefully I can find something fitting.

Looking over the Sabbatic Circle Icon (Chapter Nought in Azoetia), it is so cool to come to new revelations about it.

To see the depiction of SELF and OTHER through Zoa and Azoa. The inner circle shows Zoa and Azoa as left and right, while the outer shows them as the opposite. The outer shows the journey that Zoa takes around the circle to arrive at Azoa and complete the loop. I came to the realization that there could be the double meaning of Zoa and Azoa each containing the other within themself, symbolizing that self and other are both the same that it is merely perspective that determines which are seen.
