This Stranger Is
2013. A local farmer looking after the Tegalalang Rice Terraces in Bali. Also doubles as tourist guide.
Top of the World
2012. “Enjoy the view! You’re on top of the world!” — Captain Kiddie in ‘Tom and Jerry: The Movie’. At Enchanted Kingdom, Laguna.
Vive la Republika!
2011. The Manila sunset sky looking like a deconstructed Philippine flag minus the stars. But it more resembles the French flag on its side.
A Slice of Santorini
2012. The first time I saw photos of Marinduque’s Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa on the glossy pages of a travel magazine, I dreamed but never thought of going there so soon! It was a special celebration with close friends, and Bellarocca made it more awesome. We climbed a hill to take a look at a spa on top of it, from where we had this view imitative of Greece’s Santorini.
Vib Gy
2012. The colors of the windows on this side of the MICA building in Singapore were ROY G BIV in reverse, but the red and orange ones cannot anymore fit in the frame.
Tribute to Indigo
2013. I remember watching this children’s TV show back when I was in grade school. It was about the rainbow colors, each personified by some sort of a celestial kid, who had to paint life into a then literally colorless Earth. While on their way to Earth, the kind Indigo kid had to stop to help someone (forgot the details) as the other colors carried on to fulfill their duties. By the time Indigo reached Earth at sunset, there was nothing left to paint, so she cried. The Creator comforted her, pointed to the colorless sky and said, “Look, the sky at this hour is still unpainted. Go ahead.” After Indigo finished filling the twilight sky with her color, the Creator said, “Let the sky be Indigo everyday at dusk just before the sky darkens into night. Let this hour everyday remind mankind of your great kindness, Indigo.” I think Indigo might be seen between the reddish yellow sunset sky in the horizon, and the approaching dark blue night sky from above. Indigo is where both shades meet, but not accurately captured in this photo unfortunately. Sorry Indigo. Though you’re my favorite backdrop for Metro Manila’s skyline.
Mukhang Pera v2
2012. This is a recreation of one of my early posts in Instagram. This time I used the new Philippine peso bills.
Inspiration
2012. One of my favorite desktop wallpapers was a photograph of a pristine beach, with a single orange starfish standing on the white sand. This is inspired by that wallpaper, recreated in Virgin Island, Bohol.
