Stop worrying about other people's junk

I'm getting pretty tired of these backwards-ass politicians using "protecting women from rapists" as an excuse to legislate who gets to pee where. Lemme break this down. 1. I'm 36, and have been using public bathrooms on my own for about 32 years. Never once in those 32 years have I randomly glanced at somebody else's junk while in the restroom to pee. We have stall doors, and I'm positive that I was focused on what *I* was in the bathroom to do. (UA in the Army totally doesn't count here, for any smartasses that want to bring that up.) So "I don't want my daughters to see a penis" isn't a thing. I've never randomly seen a vulva in the ladies room, so why the hell would I see any other type of genitals? 2. Trans women are NOT men "dressed as women" to get a peek. Seriously. Who the ever loving fuck would subject themselves to the ridicule, death threats, violence, and bigotry of others for chance at watching somebody pee? Trans women want to go in the stall, lock the door, fight with their pantyhose, pee, fight pantyhose again, exit stall, wash hands, and leave, JUST LIKE THE REST OF US. (Possibly excepting the pantyhose. Not all women wear them.) 3. Want to protect women from "sickos who might take advantage to prey on women"? Here's a novel thought. How about actually enforcing rape laws that we have? Don't revictimize those who have been raped. Send actual rapists to jail. Teach consent to everyone, so that everyone knows to both ask for consent AND TO ACCEPT WHEN IT IS DENIED. I could go on and on about this point, but I won't. 4. Finally, if you're a politician making these laws (or a voter supporting them): just be honest. Stop saying it's to "protect women". That's bullshit. You're biased, you're ignorant about what it even means to be trans, and you are clearly afraid of things not being the exact way that you thought they should be. If this is you, I recommend educating yourself. I'm so mad about all of this right now. I don't even see why this needs to be a conversation. Pay attention to what's in your own damn pants. Don't use those parts to attack others. Don't worry about other people's genitals- peeking in at them without permission is voyeurism. And leave me the hell out of your bigoted laws.
