I went to the Pompidou Centre in Paris today and I really liked this piece. It’s by Mona Hatoum, an artist of Palestinian origin, and serves as a comment on war, politics and the social dichotomy between man and woman; soldier and civilian. The poster speaks to me because it’s a visual representation of resilience and strength in the face of adversity. It inspires people to stand up against corrupt governments and political agendas, and similarly, though the intention of the artist appears clear, the message can easily apply to many aspects of life.
