Being that Roman is one of Dorian’s best friends, the musician feels the need to also get to know Roman’s sister, Vivi. So, he’d invited the girl to lunch. Right now, they’re in the midst of a riveting conversation about what it’d been like for her living in Paris. “ I’ve always wanted to go to Paris. I can’t wait for the opportunity to visit. Here’s hoping my band embarks on a world tour one day and we get the chance to perform there.”
Vivi is well aware that her brother is almost like a celebrity in his own right around kingsboro, not that she disagrees with his standing. She also trusts Romans taste in people so befriending those that he’s friendly with typically works out well and so far that’s also the case with Dorian. A dreamy sigh leaves her lips anytime someone mentions Paris. “It’s honestly amazing there. I recommend that everyone go at least once. The whole atmosphere is just....” her hands were moving as she couldn’t seem to figure out the word. “Do you guys play a lot around here?”
“Unfortunately for us, I do have work in a few hours,” Rae said with a pout, “But I’d a thousand percent invite you to sleepover otherwise. I miss you,” Rae set down their choice of beverage before sitting down with her coffee in her small kitchen area, her dog Lilly laying at her feet. “I’m really glad you came to see me, don’t get me wrong, but to what do I owe this particular pleasure?”
“I think that’s more unfortunate for you, love. No offense,” Vivi tells the other with a giggle. “Working and being an adult kind of sucks but we do what we have to do, right? I guess I’ll have to save the face masks and gossip for another time then,” she teases. “I just figured I would stop by to catch up,” Vivi was always the type to stop by without invitation. “So what’s new? Hopefully your life is more exciting than mine. I’ve mostly been working.”
There wasn’t a doubt in the girls mind that the party Quentin threw for Landon was going to be amazing, even though Q had been nervous about it. That was understandable, she too was a perfectionist when it came to things like that so she could understand it. Now though, it was Vivianas favorite meal of the day, brunch, more specifically, bottomless drinks. “See you were so worried about everything and it turned out even better than you expected didn’t it? I knew you could do it. It seemed to me like everyone had an awesome time. So cheers to that. And the next party you’re throwing is for me. I’m not sure for what yet but we’ll figure that part out,” she chuckles. @quentindelancret
“well? what do you think?” lemon stared proudly up at the freshly-painted mural splashed across the wall in front of them. it had taken them the whole week, but it turned out great, and they couldn’t be more excited. “isn’t it neat? i think it’s my biggest project yet. the client pretty much gave me free reign as long as it was colourful. and you know me and colour.” he teased, flashing a grin at his fellow art-lover.
“i think that it looks amazing!” the model exclaims as she pulls out her phone to snap a photo. she takes a few steps back first, to make sure that she can fit the whole piece in the frame and snaps a few shots. “you made great use of the space and the color scheme is out of this world. bravo. i would love to have even an ounce of your talent.”
Quentin had just recently gotten back from Milan with Aaron, and he already had quite a bit of things going on. He had to move out of his apartment this week, plan a party for Landon, and start at his new job. To anyone else it might have seemed a bit overwhelming, but Q loved to stay busy. He had been sitting around for so long after leaving his job at the Grind, he was about to start going a bit stir crazy. Thank god for his two boyfriends who always seem to keep him occupied. “So.. do you think we should get a DJ for this party, or.. I mean, my band could play. But I wanna party too, so I don’t really know if that’s a great idea. Maybe we could just have the party at Blue or something. You think Landon would be okay with that?” he asked as he looked up from his notebook and over to the person he was sitting across from at the diner. “What do you think? I just want this to be perfect. Especially since it’s a coming out party.. ya know?”
“i would say a dj,” vivi agrees, “but if you really want to play something maybe just a couple of songs or something, that way it’s not like you have to be up there all night entertaining people so that you can enjoy the party too.” hand picks up her mug and takes a sip of her tea as she considers his questions, “i think that having the party at a venue like that is the best idea. then no one attending has to worry about setting up or cleaning up because that’s all taken care of for you. so im sure he would be totally fine with it. try not to stress so much. it’s supposed to be fun. ill help you if you need it.”
cillian liked to think that he was a better person now than he was then. but viviana’s attitude was kind of pissing him off. was this the ideal situation to be apologizing to her? no. but that wasn’t cillian’s fault. and the more he thought about it, the more the whole situation felt kind of ridiculous to him. and in classic cillian fashion, whatever work he’d done to patch things up, he was steadily on his way to undo. “look, i said i was sorry, take it or leave, i honestly don’t care anymore. clearly what happened between us meant more to you than it did to me, but i don’t really see how that’s my fault. leaving the country seems a little extreme, doesn’t it?” he questioned, clearly irritated.
had the conversation just ended there, viviana would have been fine with it, she didn’t expect to get anything out of it anyway. the ideal situation would have been if she didn’t have to see him or hear from him again, but in this city that was highly unlikely. “you didn’t care to begin with,” she reminds him. “stop trying to get under my skin you fucking douchebag. you don’t have to worry about my decisions. just because some people pretend that they’re used to rejection doesn’t mean that everyone handles it the same way.” leaning forward she taps the driver, who probably can’t wait for this ride to be over, on the shoulder. “can you just let me out here please?” when the car pulls over, the brit grabs her bag and gets out. walking around the other side of the car she opens the back passenger side door, her fist that was already curling at her side winds up and connects with his face. “you’re right, leaving the country was extreme. the vacation was great, but that felt much better.” slamming the door shut, she walks off pulling out her phone to still give the uber driver a 5 star rating.
cillian’s jaw tightened slightly. “actually, your brother already apologized for confronting me about it at the party,” cillian replied, weirdly satisfied about that. he had absolutely no ulterior motives here. aside from wanting to feel a bit better about himself and cillian didn’t think that was suck a bad thing. “and i was gonna apologize to you anyway. i’m not asking you to forgive me. i don’t really expect you to. but i’m sorry that i hurt you. i was pretty careless back then.”
“of course he did, roman can’t stand confrontation.” it didn’t surprise viviana in the least that her brother somehow ended up being the bigger person in this situation. but then again, she wouldn’t expect much else from the golden child. “were you? you were just waiting for what, the six month time frame?” she’s skeptical about whether or not he would have apologized at all had roman not said something to him about it, not that it matters either way. “yeah. right. well hope your conscience is clear now.”
cillian grimaced to himself, looking out his own window as his knee bounced up and down anxiously. he knew that this wouldn’t go well, but things were already off to such a rocky start that it was throwing him a bit. “look, i totally understand if you like, hate my guts and want me dead, or whatever,” he started. “and i probably deserve that. i was gonna call you up and make plans to apologize but i uh-” cillian looked around the car, taking in the tiny enclosed space that they were trapped in together. “i mean i didn’t imagine it going down like this.”
“you totally understand?” vivi couldn’t help herself, she had to glance at him as she let out a completely humorless laugh. “good. i’m so relieved, i was really worried about your feelings on that.” hazel orbs rolled almost out of her head. “but you didn’t. not that you not calling surprises me in the least. don’t bother with an apology. you’re only doing it so that my brother doesn’t beat your ass. you’re not doing it because you’re actually sorry. so don’t waste your breath.”
“Move, move!!” Claudia screamed to make sure that no one was on her way. She had terrible aim, and even though she had saw where the piñata was before she put the blindfold on, she had lowkey already forgotten where it was after spinning around a couple of times. She swung at the air a few times before getting a few good whacks in. “I hope there’s some good shit in here. Like money or weed or some shit.” She laughed before she hit something that wasn’t the piñata. “Oh fuck…what was that?” Please don’t be a person.
now this was something that vivi was finding amusing. putting a blinfold on someone and then spinning them around and handing them a stick to swing at something dangling in the air? there was no way she couldn’t video this. which was exactly what she was doing as she stood back to avoid being in the way. “it depends on who filled it i suppose, love. who did fill it, anyway?” how was she supposed to resist this situation that claudia had just set up? “oh no, claudia you’ve got terrible aim! ma’am are you alright? let me pick up your cane for you. i should call a doctor...” there was no old woman, vivi just couldn’t help making claudia panic even if it was only for a split second.
“Dammit,” Stella groans as she looks through the toy aisle at Target. Her little sister’s birthday was coming up and she was trying to get a few last minute things for her. She had been looking around for some more Jojo Siwa stuff for her. Of course, like most little girls, she had a full on obsession with her. She could understand….Jojo was a good influence and maybe some of her songs were catchy. “Do you know where I might be able to find more Jojo bows? And other shit that she makes? I swear my little sister is gonna freak out if she doesn’t get any,” she asks a person passing by.
viviana is mostly just killing time as she wanders around the large store. She is absolutely one of those people who could get stuck here for hours just moseying up and down the aisles buying loads of stuff that she doesn’t even need. When Stella speaks, vivi looks around to see if she can spot anything before shaking her head, “i thought this place had everything. im not sure. but you know who is?” she questions pulling out her phone. vivi types in a quick search, “according to google five below, khols and claires should have merchandise you’re looking for.”
cillian bit his tongue, because there wasn’t anything he could say to improve this situation. so he sighed instead, climbing fully into the car and closing the door behind him, raking a hand through his hair. he’d been planning on apologizing to her. but he’d thought that they’d meet somewhere where he could quickly apologize and easily escape afterwards. being stuck in a car with vivi was not exactly ideal. cillian cleared his throat somewhat awkwardly, tapping his knee lightly. “so…” he said after a moment of silence had passed between them. because he couldn’t think of what else to say.
even though it took a while, viviana was ‘over’ the wreck of the situation she put herself into with .cillian some time ago. but the feeling of rejection that she remembers any time she thought about, or in this case, saw, him comes barreling down on her with a weight that she didn’t want to bear. “so what?’ vivi retorts. her attention is focused out the window rather than looking at him. it wasn’t like the model to have this kind of negative disposition, but in this situation she wasn’t going to do anything to change it.
cillian didn’t make a habit of ubering all that often. but it was way too cold to be out and about on his bike and the idea of lugging his groceries back to the apartment on the subway was it’s own brand of hell. so cillian reluctantly opted for uberpool, the cheapest of the available options during a surge. cillian never had any trouble chatting up strangers before, so that idea hadn’t phased him much. that was until he climbed into the back of the car with viviana, the last person he wanted to run into by sheer chance. he stopped short, his groceries already in the back seat though he still had one leg outside the car, debating leaving the groceries behind and booking it in the opposite direction. “i can cancel,” he started, to which the driver protested, but cillian didn’t care. anything to escape how awkward this situation was.
making small talk with strangers is usually one of viviana’s strong suits. she is that person who makes friends almost anywhere she goes. she’ll do it if she has to, but she isn’t really in the mood today. now she’s wishing she brought her ear buds, which may have appeared rude but she’s not sure if she would care. first the groceries caught her eye and then her eyes traveled to who they belonged to and rolled nearly out of her skull. “no need to pretend to be thoughtful now. little late for that.”
an uncomfortably large portion of viviana’s day has been spent attending go-sees set up by her agency. the model knows that it’s a part of her job, it’s how she’ll continue to get work but that doesn’t make it any less draining. she’s been posing, and walking, and putting on her sweet voice for the short interviews all day and she’s knackered. after stopping for a cup of coffee, vivi decides that she doesn’t feel like fighting with the crowd on the subway to get home, instead, she opts for an uber and at the busiest time of the day, the only option she has is an uberpool. sharing a ride with the driver and one other passenger would be better than the subway by far, though. brunette tresses relax back against the seat, her portfolio sitting on her lap, at least now she can start to unwind from the day. hearing the opposite side back door open she sighs inwardly, she can handle just a little more small talk, can’t she? @cilliankelly
Valentine’s Day was never great for Landon but this year he had a feeling that it was going to be even more horrible than usual. If the fact that he was walking around with a cast on his arm wasn’t bad enough, there was also the little detail that he was going to have to see the guy he’s in love with act all coupley and in love with his best friend and the guy he was dating. That was probably enough to have anyone feel like they’d rather hide somewhere no one would find them. So when Vivi suggested they spend the day eating their whole weight in takeaway and watching horror movies, he jumped at the opportunity. It couldn’t get less loved up than that which was just what he needed. “Plans? You know I’ve barely been going out of the house except for that party and if I see one more Valentine’s card or teddy beat I’m going to lose it. You know I hate this stupid holiday.” Viv also knew him enough to know it wasn’t necessarily the holiday that he hated but the situation that he found himself in.
Vivi actually loved love. She fell in love probably a little too easily and a little too often and it seemed as though love didn’t tend to love her back. Especially not this year. “I didn’t want to just assume you didn’t have plans that would be rude,” but she was glad that he didn’t. “I know it’s dreadful isn’t it? Now I’m wishing I would have stayed longer in Paris getting laid was so simple over there.” all in all, she just hated to be alone in general, it didn’t even have that much to do with valentine’s day. that was just an extra annoyance. “it is stupid. i would much rather pretend it didn’t exist and eat junk food to fill the void,” she laughs although she isn’t joking, even though she’ll purge all the contents of her stomach when she is inevitably alone, it that still sounded better than wallowing in her self pity.
“so listen, here’s the plan. this weekend we’re going to order copious amounts of takeaway and watch horror films, yeah?” it might not have been the best idea to assume that landon didn’t have plans, but vivi certainly didn’t, so she was hoping to convince him to hang out with her. “i really don’t feel like going out in public. everyone around here is all loved up and it makes me want to gag.” it makes her sad, actually, but she didn’t need to say that, it was written on her face. however, with his injury, vivi was going to play up on the fact that hopefully he didn’t feel like doing anything extraordinary either. “if you tell me you already have plans, ill die.” anyone who knew viviana well enough, knew that she didn’t like to be alone hardly ever, but especially not when everyone else was all coupled up.
I just bumped into [ VIVIANA "VIVI" BECKETT ] the other day while walking down [ WEST ] Kingsboro, where [ SHE/HER ] live. I hear they can be [ CAPTIVATING ] and [ DISRUPTIVE ], but when I think of them I immediately think about [ LOW PHONE BATTERY, STAYING OUT UNTIL DAYLIGHT, WEARING LINGERIE AS CLOTHING ]
Tara Jacobs was born in London into a disastrous situation to a young mother who worked as a prostitute and a dead best father who had zero desire to have children. She and her twin brother endured endless neglect and abuse for the first five years of their lives. When their mother wasn’t totally strung out, she was bringing random men into their tiny flat to sleep with them for money. It wasn’t unusual for plenty of people that she owed money to come in, destroy the place and take it out on her children. They likely thought that would cut her deeply, but in reality, she was mostly unphased.
By the time they were 5, the twins were adopted by a family friend as their mother decided that mothering wasn’t for her (CLEARLY). Her name from then on was Viviana Beckett in hopes that she would shed her old identity and start fresh. Throughout her childhood, Vivi did what she could to please her parents in hopes that if she was a good child that they would keep her. It’s something that followed the woman throughout her life making her a people pleaser. She’s always been a social butterfly, even if she doesn’t completely open up about her past trauma. Making friends is something that comes naturally to her, thankfully, because she’s often found around people. Vivi doesn’t like to be alone, not only because she sometimes has vivid flashbacks but because she’ll end up too much in her head and that never leads to anywhere good.
To that end, Vivi falls a little too hard a little too fast. It’s always been one of her biggest downfalls. She usually looks for the good in people and it ends up biting her in the ass. Somehow this hasn’t left her jaded enough to shield her heart, even though it probably should.
Viviana has a charming personality that tends to draw people in, she’s the girl you see talking to the barista, the door man, the cashier, the cab driver, the bartender… if you’ve met her, it’s not likely that you’ll forget her. Paired with her personality comes her good looks and great fashion sense. As a teenager, the girl easily fell into modeling, first on the basic catalogue level and her career has been growing ever since. She’s worked for big names like Victoria’s Secret, Topshop and Lancome. Though she’s been in Kingsboro on and off for years, she just got back after a modeling stint in Paris.
Moderation is not one of her strong suits and that’s when it comes to a lot of things – sex, drugs, shopping. Vivi clearly enjoys keeping herself and her mind occupied. Thanks to the fashion industry, she often struggles with body issues, which once again, isn’t something that she’ll ever let you know about. Could she use a therapist? Probably. But she ended up sleeping with him. Oops. Although she tries to act it, the femme is far from perfect though hopefully she can make you think she comes pretty damn close.
