Hmm. Definitely agree that it depends on the context in which you use it in. The "a" definitely gives it a negative connotation.

I'm a little behind on school at the moment... :/ I took a few years off of school before I applied to University. I'll be a Sophomore this year. :) I've been to Cambodia just once, before I started High School. It's been quite a while. I plan on going this winter! What about you? I recently just joined this Cambodian organization called Anvaya. You might be interested in it as well! The main purpose of the Organization is to help khmer-french/american/australian/etc overseas return to Cambodia to work and help develop the country. It's an awesome way to network if you plan on going back someday. :) I hope you plan on going again soon!

Please be a business woman or a city planner. There will always be doctors but we need brave people (women!) to stand up to government, and if your intention is to build bridges and make connections, you will reach a lot more people :) haha, just my random input. I liked your piece on the diaspora it was really nice. Where are you from, east or west coast?
Well thank you! I love the diaspora piece as well. I wish that I had written it! Great news though! I actually stopped by my university a few weeks ago, and spoke to several advisors. After a lot of research and planning, I made my decision and decided to switch from business to urban planning! I am so ecstatic about it. I feel really good about this new path. I am still doing the pre-med requirements however, just to keep my options open. If something happens and I can't go to Cambodia right away, I can still apply to med school if I wish to. Either way, I will be helping so many people and that's my ultimate goal. :) I'm actually from the Mid-West. I lived on the East Coast briefly, but decided to move home because Universities are much cheaper here. :p How about you? Do you have any plans to go back to Cambodia? Visiting or Living?
