Mill & Nine - frozen
The Loona Union (a group of South Korean and International Loona fans. This is the group that organized the boycott) put out an important statement today (link to post about it on r/Loona that contains an image of the official statement) You can read the entire statement through that link. Here is the most important part, however:
LOONA Union has been advised by lawyers as to what the fandom can do to support LOONA. Lawyers have advised the LOONA Union that documents such as petitions can have a significant, helpful impact on this type of legal proceeding. We then expressed our intentions to create and submit a petition to the law firm representing LOONA, who has accepted our offer. We are currently preparing the details and will share the specifics of how Orbits may participate soon.
(Emphasis mine)
The LOONA Union is preparing a petition to help the members in their ongoing court case against Blockberry Creative, with the cooperation of the members' actual legal representatives. Again, this is about freeing young, exploited women from a contract that puts them into debt slavery.
They also said that other actions (such as a protest truck) are not advisable as BBC Headquarters are in a residential area and a protest truck there would be breaking the law.
Will keep you posted on if international fans can sign the petition once it gets posted.
(230113) update on LOONA’s situation
the Japan concert is still on, despite “performers might be subject to change”
fab will end its contract with LOONA, services will end on February 11th 2023
HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul and Choerry’s contracts have been temporarily suspended as of today, January 13th 2023
HaSeul, YeoJin, Yves, Go Won and Olivia Hye’s contracts have not been suspended as they seem to have made some changes to their contracts about 1-2 years ago
This is not the court’s final ruling. The final verdict has yet to be made.
Newsen publicy calls out BBC for being a liar “Yet, Blockberry Creative lied to Newsen on November 28 last year when news broke of some members filing an injunction, saying that ‘we confirm that this claim is groundless’. ”
the girls return to fab after weeks of silence
HaSeul: “The news is true, and I, for the team and for myself, will try until the end, so please cheer for us lots. There will be long and hard fights in the future too, but if Orbits are by our side | think we’ll be able to overcome it. And the content about payments, there was a lot of speculation thinking that we’ve been receiving payments. I can’t tell you in detail now, but I think I can tell you that that part is not true”
Choerry: “I really missed you, and I’m sorry I haven’t been able to come by, and thank you for always being by my side”
YeoJin: “…the news is true, since I was young, up until now, it has been a very difficult time to endure, and the lawsuit was scary and difficult but because we had Orbits I think I was able to come up with the courage. It will be scary and fearful again but if Orbits will be by our side I think I’ll be able to come up with the courage again”
Kim Lip: “Thank you sincerely for waiting, I have been looking over the messages and letter of support all this time.”
Go Won: “I’m sorry Orbit…”
JinSoul: “Orbit, thank you so much, you’ll be with us forever right? In the future, with all our members!”
Orbits, remember to continue boycotting, all the girls want to leave that company!

There's still hope 🙏
IMPORTANT LOONA LAWSUIT UPDATE💫
heejin, kim lip, jinsoul, and choerry won their lawsuits. however, due to changes in the contracts made a couple years prior, haseul, yeojin, yves, go won, and olivia hye lost their lawsuits and are still under contract with BBC.
5 are free, but 7 are still in the company. remember that the comeback is postponed, but not cancelled. meaning that the boycott is still active.
do not buy any official loona merchandise, to not pre order the album, avoid watching loona videos and streaming loona music, there are many reposts across the internet. avoid following loona social media, i will be reposting promotions myself to support the comeback.
it’s time for loona to be free. for more information on the boycott, i have several posts tagged “loona” or “loona boycott” on this account.
🪐💫 always in their orbit.
YALL THE BOYCOTT FUCKING WORKED
ALSO don't stop boycotting just because they postponed the album indefinitely we still wanna suck em dry like they've plunged those girls in thousands of dollars of debt don't quit until they're out of blockberry creative
Team Subbits' translation of Chuu's Dispatch Exclusive, edited highlights (full document here)
the loona situation
there are some things that i think need to be said in the wake of the dispatch chuu article, and that i haven't seen anyone else directly address.
tldr for those who didnt see: loona had a system with blockberry where they shared costs equally, but revenue 70-30 in bbc's favor. this means that if the cost was $100, and the revenue was $100, loona and bbc each paid $50, but bbc earned $70 and loona earned $30, so loona went $20 more in debt to bbc despite the project recouping all of its expenses. these numbers only get worse the higher the cost/revenue ratio is. loona even pays bbc if there is zero revenue, because they get loona's portion of the cost.
functionally, this means that loona stays in debt. forever. according to bbc's numbers, the loona members - even after all of loona's successes and the fact that it makes a net gain now - are all still around $150,000 in debt to the company after 5 years. this is in addition to the other abuses standard to the idol industry, like starvation and mental abuse.
what i want to talk about is this: a series of facts.
1. many of the girls' families were concerned about the promises bbc made to their trainees and thought loona was a scam at best and a trafficking scheme at worst.
2. yves was promised debut within weeks of joining bbc. olivia hye trained for one day. loona 1/3 was flown all over the world for teeny tiny teaser videos. all of this was pre-debut. many of them talk about it seeming too good to be true.
3. go won and olivia hye have admitted they were already starstruck by older members of loona like heejin before even considering joining bbc. they saw their ads at the bus stop on the way to school. they wanted badly to be friends with them.
4. all contracts are individual. any revenue from one girl was given solely to her and applied solely to her own debt.
4a. chuu is the only member who's escaped her trainee debt. her revenue was not applied to anyone else's debts.
6. when a member is in debt to the company at the end of her contract, she can be compelled to renew to pay it back.
7. jaden jeong wanted loona to stay unknown forever as a 'mysterious' girl group, making minimal revenue until eventual disband.
7a. loona had the most expensive predebut in kpop history.
8. of the 12 members, only haseul, vivi, jinsoul, and yves were over south korea's age of majority — 19 in international age — when they debuted.
8a. of these 4, only vivi, jinsoul, and yves were 20. haseul had turned 19 less than four months ago. 9. kim lip was 18 when she debuted with 'eclipse.' chuu was 18 when she debuted with 'heart attack.' choerry was 17 when she debuted with 'love cherry motion.' go won was 17 when she debuted with 'one and only.' hyunjin was 16 when she debuted with 'around you.' olivia hye was 16 when she debuted with 'egoist.' heejin was 15 when she debuted with 'vivid.'
9a. yeojin was 14 years old when she debuted with 'kiss later'.
i'm begging at this point.
do not support loona's next comeback.
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMEBACK
i am reposting specifically to help in the efforts AGAINST blockberry creative. these are the recent teaser pictures for loonas last second comeback: O.
1) the girls have been as clear as possible that they do not want to take part in this comeback and that they are being forced to under contract. specifically haseul and hyunjin have directly communicated with orbits to confirm that the girls are doing their best to boycott without breaking contract.
2) this comeback was completely last second thrown together with no mind put toward cohesiveness and quality. it’s suspected that all of the songs are former rejected loona songs that have been sitting in the dungeon for years. B.U.R.N is suspected to be the cut title track from the # album. Flash is credited with MonoTree, a composer who loona has specifically not worked with for years at this point. BBC is instead framing this as them finally giving orbits what they wanted but it’s not true.
3) the teaser photo shoot was almost certainly shot about a day before it was released. orbits quickly noticed that choerry’s nails matched nails that she had gotten only 4 days prior to the post meaning that the photoshoot couldn’t have been taken more than 4 days in advance. furthermore, the first teaser video we received was proven to be made up of entirely stock footage that can be found easily on shutter stock which is comical.
4) the girls have been very clear that they haven’t been paid once since debut so the boycott doesn’t hurt them at all. we’re trying to free them from this financial debt BBC has forced them into.
if you are an orbit or casual loona fan, please do not support this comeback. this means not supporting any media directly posted by BBC including teasers, and clips. there are many reposts on the internet including the posts that i will be making. avoid streaming loona on any official platforms for the time being (i temporarily removed all loona songs from my playlists). and do not post anything with the songs on the album when they release.
the boycott is going so well and we have the chance to free all 12 girls! good luck orbits 🫡
