say hello to alistair riley, though if you're a student at the highschool then it's probably mr. riley to you. if you're wondering what that accent is, it's australian- you see he's originally from brisbane, australia.

completed all his primary and secondary schooling in brisbane, he was captain of his high school's basketball team, part of the rowing team, member of the debate team as well as the model un..basically he was very ambitious. but somehow he was one of the ~popular kids~ because of it.

went to university of sydney for his tertiary studies on a sport's scholarship. though he was very talented in basketball, being a pro player was never part of his goals. he did a bachelor's in education, focusing on becoming a history teacher.

upon graduation, alistair was a teacher in a secondary school in sydney for three years.

he wanted a change of scenery and so went to the us, doing his masters.

continued to teach in high school, finding a job at saugatuck high school and it's currently his second year of teaching there.

so he's the history teacher as well as the boy's basketball coach (if that's possible??).

as a teacher, i guess he's not the strict and serious sort, he likes to crack jokes from time to time, make the students feel comfortable in his class. he's big on respect, so he won't approve of bullshit, give him bullshit and that's when his authority shows.

as a coach, he's pushes his team when it comes to training, muck up a drill and he'll make everyone run through it again. mess up during a game or ref calls a wrong foul, he's known to yell and rage.

scary sounding? maybe. but he gets results. those results being wins.

he's going to get involved with a student of his at some pont, oops.

other faculty peeps of course, maybe one he's pretty close to? and they just bro out on the weekends, watch the big game, drink some beer. oh oh, what if they share a place together? grown men with a bachelor pad?!?!

has lived in saugatuck his entire life, has ambitions to travel and see the world because of it.

grew up in a single parent household, his father left just shortly after his birth- but he doesn't cry about it and he's not going to throw tables out of anger or anything.

once typed his name into google and discovered he shares a name with some welsh poet/writer and, being the curious person he was, he read some of the guy's work.

basically that was the start of his interest in poetry and writing in general.

dylan enjoys writing in his free time, doesn't really know if he's good or mediocre but he does it none the less, he even has an online blog set up just for personal entries which he writes on anonymously (which no one knows about alright? because god help him if he starts to lose whatever popularity points he has that he's worked so hard to get).

excuse him if a lot of those entries are about a certain girl.

for the majority of his life he was considered to be a nerd, that kid who read a lot more than he should of, and knew a lot more words than his peers did, which in turn gained the praise of teachers...

was that kid in elementary who participated in spelling bees and entered silly competitions that involved poetry and creative writing.

on top of that he was a little pudgy, wore glasses, and didn't know how to stand up for himself. easy target for the bullies.

decided to do a self-transformation at the end of freshman year in high school: he started exercising, dressing differently, acting differently etc etc.

shedding his old image had taken a while, but during sophomore year he was slowly climbing the social ladder. now he's classified as a wannabe. 

started from the bottom, now he's almost there. almost.

takes whatever shit the popular kids throw at him, because wow, he really just wants to be in their league? and he's not going to give up, which is why he pretty much kisses the ground they walk on.

hates the taste of alcohol but drinks the shit and attends parties anyway because that's what's cool.

traded in glasses for contacts.

hides his intelligence and love for writing etc.

but he's not an idiot- he may not put his hand up in class, and yes he probably ends up saying something sarcastic when a teacher calls on him, but he still puts effort into his exams because he wants to go to a good university, shhh.

but why? why would he put up with being the populars' bitch? why all the effort into putting up a facade? because of a girl. it always comes down to a girl, doesn't it?

dylan has had a crush on this girl since the third grade but she's out of his league. (think stiles/lydia in the beginning) and basically he's doing this, hoping that being popular will mean that she will notice him, finally.

loyal, cares about what people think of him, stubborn, determined, ambitious, somewhat gullible and insecure, observant, intelligent, sarcastic.

THINGS I WOULD LOVE FOR HIM

his long time crush. the girl he's liked since third grade, the one who has been out of his league for so long yet someone he would probably do anything for. i was thinking she would be royalty or a pom-pom queen.

his journey from being at the bottom of the fish tank towards the top would not have been all positive. i would love for dylan to have that one best friend who he lost along the way. he could have ditched said person because he/she would have ruined his reputation. thinking a nerd so they used to run in the same clique.

i like to torment my characters and other characters along the way, oops, so i'm thinking, if possible, to have a girl who has been pining for him the same way he pines over his crush? bonus points if that girl was a close friend of his and pretty much smiled through all his talks about how awesome and flawless his crush was? they would most likely be friends but only in secrecy. taken by aly.

his siblings! brief request here. i'm thinking for these guys, nothing higher than the burnouts.

so i'm not entirely sure what plot i want for my harry styles just yet (still trying to narrow the ideas down) but i do know that i want him to have some siblings. so i was thinking one older brother and a twin (or irish twin) sister.

they can be as close or dysfuctional or as ~golden siblings as we want- it's pretty much an open dynamic.

for faces i was thinking aaron johnson for the brother and kaya scodelario as the sister.

brother - university student or townie sister - either junior or senior, whatever clique

so not a lot of info is out yet but i already have vague ideas to play around with:

this lowerclassman who is basically a little shit but he has great potential to be one of the big names up in the social ladder when his junior or senior year rolls by. probably is being 'mentored' by a current popular kid- someone who has taken the boy under their wing and is showing them the ropes? (colin ford, connor jessup)

an upperclassman who started from the bottom of the social ladder and managed to be near the top? //started from the bottom by drake plays in the background// and no one is quite sure how he did it? or alternatively, he was a transfer student and where he was very unpopular in his old school, he entered this one with a new start and purposely played all the right cards to be a popular kid? either way, he was probably a nerd or something and he just dumbs himself down in front of his peers so he ~~fits in. (harry styles, logan lerman, austin butler)

a wannabe who's greatest goal in life right now is to just be popular, which means he's probably pretty much the popular kids' bitch and takes whatever they give to him with a smile. maybe trying to get popular enough to get his long term crush to notice him c: (idk for faces, see above)

this is elias, he's twenty, a sophomore who is doing pre-med, and he's alpha gamma rho's social chair.

he's originally from newport beach, california

so why sfu? because it's his father's and his father's father's alma mater.not to mention that they both are agr alumnis so that made elias a legacy.

elias rushed, got a bid from agr, pledged, then got initiated.

he was that popular kid back in high school, not because he played a sport, but because he was that kid with the fancier car and threw great parties at his house. not much has changed tbh...minus the house party because now it's frat parties.

he has good grades because he was made to succeed in life, especially when there's pressure from your father and your life was more or less planned out for you

you know the type, dad was too busy to give him attention, so instead elias seeked attention in other ways from other people

designer clothes, carries hundred dollar bills in his wallet, frick, even his cigarettes are expensive

yes, he smokes. no, don't give him the 'smoking kills' speech, he's heard it multiple times before

when it comes to a lot of people (adults and authority figures etc) he can do no wrong. he's the 'golden child' in their eyes- that's because he knows what people want to hear/see and when...he's a manipulative bastard that way without having to be all up in your face

if you're thinking of striking up a conversation in hopes of developing a friendship with him yet you hold absolutely no benefit to him, don't even bother

yes, he's very selective and is still lingering in that 'social hierarchy' bubble that spawned from high school

so really he collects connections rather than friends

puts on this "better than you" front as he's trying to limit the chances of someone using him. because excuse you, elias does the using, not the other way around

elias isn't known to commit

rumor has it that all he needs is the right girl to come along and change him

fact? who knows, he probably spread that rumor around himself in order to get into more pants, oops

he has an older sister/half-sister/step-sister (to be discussed)

he also has a twin, though this isn't something he really knows about (yet)

basically it's all the parent trap up in here. elias and his twin were separated at birth more or less because their parents divorced and left on very, very bad terms and one parent took a kid each and went their separate ways

elias was never told about his twin and his father never liked to talk about his mother and so claimed that she had died or some shit, whoops

so he's probably getting mistaken for being at places he's never been to or just hearing weird things about him that never happened

i really want him to have a bff. like legit bff, not just someone he keeps around because he's good to have around, ja feel? it's sort of like the sid to his tony. though he messes with the kid's head a lot, he loves the guy platonically even if he has a strange way of showing it. so someone make his bro, k? preferably in alpha gamma rho as well

i'm thinking of making a freshman who is rushing. he's a legacy (his father and grandfather were in AGR) so there's probably this ~~pressure to try and get a bid from AGR. but during the rush, he feels like it's not really him and feels more comfortable at this other fraternity (probably PKP) and is basically torn between what is expected and what he wants to do #rich kid problems. right now, probably zayn malik or rj king for his face.

i would love for him to have a roommate- basically the first person he befriends on the first day of uni and they go rushing together and blah.

maybe a nina dobrev older sister or half sister?

born and bred in port reyes, california.

grew up living right next to the beach, spent most of his time out of the water just in his balcony watching beach shenanigans to keep himself entertained (eg: surfers wiping out, people face planting after failed cartwheels, people staying out for too long so they end up as red as a tomato etc.)

said balcony was also used most of the time for him to just have a little jam session with his guitar and some close friends.

miles was that kid in high school who skipped a lot more than he should, and even when he was at class, he'd sit at the back and just not seem to pay attention.

wasn't very popular, in fact he was a bit of a misfit as he didn't fully mold to any 'clique'. he didn't play a sport, he didn't have a fancy car, he wasn't smart in academics etc. this resulted in him being made fun of from time to time. but he shrugged it off.

music was his passion and he was part of a small garage band with three people at least four years older than him.

dropped out of high school at sixteen, declaring that he wanted to focus more on music and go to los angeles with his band. his parents, despite how easy going they were- were apprehensive, but in the end decided to let him go because they knew he would do it either way.

somewhere down the line, he probably gets screwed over by his bandmates thinking they don't need him or they dropped him in favor of a deal because he's too young (it's okay, they don't actually make it anywhere- karma).

he finds a job and does a little busking on the side and before he knows it, he gets noticed.

long story short, the person who noticed him was part of a low-key band trying to make it big and asked him to fill in for their guitarist while s/he's...busy or some shit idk.

shortly after that, he's playing one of their gigs at a small dive bar and some guy with connections is at the venue (god knows why), and miles is approached, gets the whole speech but basically saying they want him and he ends up being part of the tour crew for this pop princess.

lucky break? maybe. but wow, the girl is a diva and miles doesn't like kissing people's asses (he likes to do his own thing), he's sarcastic, somewhat insensitive, so they clash a lot.

but they have great on-stage presence and chemistry that the public have no idea.

so the tour has just wrapped up/is taking a bit of break and miles is back in his hometown, planning on just taking this time to relax, moved into the same neighborhood, and went back to his routines of balcony chilling.

then he bumps into someone he doesn't expect and it's the last person he wants to see (hint: pop princess).
