🍼Food Ideas for Little Space🫐
~Let’s build your little lunch box!~
Food and good meals are important for all littles to stay strong and healthy!!! It can be tempting to snack on sweets and animal crackers all day, but you need variety! Plus, finger foods especially are great for littles :) just be careful while preparing these (or ask your caregiver to help you make them!)
✨Sandwiches of any kind, cut up into little shapes or triangles! (Peanut butter jelly, Yogurt and fruit, Ham and cheese, grilled cheese, tofu and veggie..)
✨Chia seed pudding/overnight oats! You can flavor it any way you desire!
✨Rice cakes topped with nut butter and fruit! (For nut allergies, replace the nut butter with yogurt!)
✨Parfaits! My favorite toppings are granola, hemp seeds, berries, jelly/jam, and nut butter! (Can you tell I like nut butter yet?)
✨Pancakes! Especially flavored and shaped ones! Like strawberry pancakes :)
✨Crepe kabobs~ roll up and cut up some crepes, and in between each piece on a stick (make sure the stick isn’t too pointy!) you can put pieces of fruit!
✨ Mini pot pies (in muffin tins so it’s easier to eat!)
✨ Soup! You can make all kinds of soup! Pumpkin soup, carrot soup, lasagna soup. I like to dump some rice in carrot soup or any broth-y soup :)
✨ Beans and hot dogs! You put some baked beans in a pot, and some cut up hot dogs, warm it up, and have a nice bowl of beanie weenies 🥲 for my fellow vegetarians out there, veggie hot dogs are amazing for this, but check ingredients on cans of baked beans. (Some have bacon.)
✨ Pinwheel sandwiches/tortillas. These can be made sweet or savory!
✨ Cut up fruit and veggies
✨ Smoothie! (For my fellow caregivers..sneak some veggies in these smoothies for picky eaters.)
✨Hot dogs cut into octopus shapes!
✨Cookies! (You can even make healthy cookies with just banana and oatmeal)
✨ Sweet potato fries/regular fries. Even zucchini fries are good!
✨Popcorners (the kettle corn ones..so good.)
✨Instead of whipped coffee, whipped cocoa powder with sugar is a fun alternative to chocolate milk!
✨Apple Nachos! Apple slices dipped/topped with yogurt, nut butter, chocolate chips, and anything else you can think of!
✨Chocolate/hard sugar/candy coated fruit!
And much, much more :) things you can look up for even more ideas are “toddler lunches, Bento boxes, tea party snacks, finger foods, home cafe foods, meals for picky eaters” and anything like that. I hope you guys treat yourselves with kindness, and have a good day <3
