Jeweled Skeletons

The jeweled skeletons were originally found in catacombs beneath Rome in 1578, and distributed as replacements under the belief they were Christian martyrs to churches who had lost their saint relics in the Reformation.

Most of the skeleton’s identities were unknown. The  churches spent years covering the revered skeletal strangers with jewels and golden clothing, even filling their eye sockets and sometimes adorning their teeth with jewels. The skeletons were ultimately hidden away during the enlightenment because they represented excess and the churches were embarrassed about how much money was spent on them.

Cecil Hotel (LA)

(Currently called Stay on Main, formerly known as Hotel Cecil and Cecil Hotel)

To say this hotel has had a checkered history would be an understatement. This hotel has been home to so much evil that if any hotel in the US is haunted, its gotta be this one.

Here are a few things that have happened in this hotel:

Elisa Lam’s body was found in the water supply.

Home to the Night Stalker while he killed.

Black Dahlia was seen here right before her unsolved murder

Home to serial killer Jack Unterweger

In 1962, Pauline Otton, 27, threw herself to her death from a ninth-floor window after arguing with her husband. She landed on pedestrian George Gianinni, 65, on the street below, killing him instantly. She was just one of numerous guests who ended their lives while staying at the run-down hotel.

This place has a gruesome history and people who visit the place have reported hauntings throughout its history.

This three-person suicide coffin is located in the National Museum of Funeral History, Houston. The story behind this custom made coffin is that a couple’s infant daughter passed away and the couple agreed to commit suicide to be buried with their daughter. They ordered the coffin but never came to pick it up.

Bridgewater Triangle, an area of around 200 square miles within Massachusetts, is the site of an abundance of paranormal phenomena. Among many other oddities, this site has been subjected to numerous cryptozoological sightings, stretching back from the colonial times. There was been reports of UFO’s, giant snakes, bigfoot sightings, thunderbird sightings, orbs, ghosts, and balls of fire to name just a few. Some of these claims have even been corroborated by local authorities. 

In the centre of the triangle sits Hockmock Swamp, a largely untouched swamp which means “the place where spirits dwell.” This swamp was originally called “The Devil’s Swamp,” and is said to be site of an 8,000-year-old Wôpanâak Native American burial ground. When archaeologists discovered this burial ground, it was said that the photos they took would mysteriously not develop. There have been a number of reports of mutilated animals and in 1976, somebody claimed he saw a giant, red-eyed, dog like creature rip the throats of two of his ponies. 

Another bizarre sighting that many people have reported is that of a black helicopter which seems to float around the sky over Bridgewater Triangle aimlessly.
