vslvano:
Aslan breathed, they weren’t on the same floor so they weren’t as likely to run into each other. He was relieved and then felt guilty for feeling that way. Antara deserved better than this. Antara had once been everything to him. He nodded, “Yes, it’s nice to have to worry about all those layers and I know my doctor is grateful.” He glanced at her. “Are you here alone? Living alone?”
“ your doctor is grateful ? what did you do ? run around with your chest exposed ? ” it wasn’t fun to fight the cold winter of oslo but it was far from impossible. her eyes narrowed at the question and she turned her head away and looked straight at the steel doors of the lift. “ i have an apartment for myself, yes. rohan is here with me. “
20/04/2015
He smiled, he knew she wouldn’t like that. Antara was fun to tease at times. Aslan took the towel and wiped his face before he slung it over his shoulder. “I don’t know, I think my performance would certainly improve from seeing such a beautiful face in the crowd. Think about it, yeah?” He said and while his tone was light it also indicated that it would mean a lot to him. Aslan looked down at the box and opened it, he smiled. “Thank you, they’re beautiful.” Then he looked up at her. “What’s happening for dinner tonight again?”
“ funny. i think a pretty face only serves as a distraction. ” her visits to turkey were spare and short --- she supposed she should have taken the most out of them by following him around like a lost puppy. sitting alone in a hotel room seemed like a waste of time. “ i’ll think about it. ” she couldn’t give in too easily, now could she ? “ proper dinner. fancy dinner. somewhere where you need to look representable. ” she patted his chest a few times. “ go get a shower and i’ll meet you by the gate, okay ? ”
“ i don’t see any kids running around you, you came all alone ? ” antara inquired as she looked around the princess’s apartment. moderate disappointment coloured her face: she had been somewhat eager to see how much the children had grown up in the few years she hadn’t seen them. “ i don’t understand how you could ever leave the greenery of scotland. ” she had certainly hated leaving the flora of assam behind. dubai was dead. “ even if it’s so cold there, ” she added with a small smile. “ are you here for business or leisure ? ” [ @vnnchi ]
ANTARA’S APARTMENT
Antara’s apartment is definitely big for one person --- but she likes space. She hasn’t made any personal touches to the interior. She hired an interior designer told her she wanted something neutral that would flatter the general look of the apartment, and that is what she got. The only thing she isn’t very pleased about is the lack of a separate study. She has to hold her meetings either in the dining room or the living room, which, if you ask her, isn’t very professional.
“ you have a whole delegation here. ” four... five.. six.. seven... eight ? russians in one place ? they must have valued the program. “ are you really getting as much out of this as you thought you would ? i’m having a hard time making this place worth my while. it’s hard to strengthen preexisting friendships between india and our friends when everyone wants favours. ” [ @ncdyc ]
ebbv:
ebba had to blink a few times to get rid of the mild shock. she hadn’t expected anyone to talk to her, much less the princess of india whom she had never even swapped a word with. slowly, a light smile spread on her face and she nodded at the woman. “ of course, thank you. ” she pulled out a chair for herself and carefully sat down. she didn’t know how to behave — was this a slightly professional interaction or a completely casual pool side conversation ? “ do i remember correctly that you stayed in oslo for some time last year ? i think i saw you. ”
she patiently followed the princess’s movements and couldn’t help but to feel pleased that interacting with other important people was this easy. “ oh yes, i left after the wedding. i had some business to attend to. “ everything in moderation --- even other royals. “ how long have you been away from home ? i hear some people have been part of the program for over a year. ” she set her glass down and placed her sunglasses on top of her head. “ i haven’t introduced myself: princess antara. ” she offered her hand for a shake.
laylabahiti:
“but even changing one thing, like the curtains, could make living in the rental more comfortable.” they’d been stuck in hotel rooms for years, layla wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity for personalization. “and it was only a suggestion, you are free to do whatever you please.” she carefully set the cup down and tucked her hair behind her ear. “oh, um, yes… aslan and i.”
“ i suppose you’re right. ” it seemed like a lot of work for such a small amount of joy. “ well i asked, i should be grateful for your advice, and not question it. ” she noticed that she did that far too often, it made her feel like a brat. she nearly choked on her tea. the engaged couple was living together ? sharing living spaces ? it was unsettling for two reasons: one, she couldn’t have imagined aslan settling down so quickly, and two, it seemed terribly inappropriate. “ i see. ” she set her cup down. “ things must be going well for you two then. i hear it’s quite rare. ”
12/09/2015
Anyone who saw them together would have said they were perfect. Aslan pulled Antara across the dance floor and the other couples parted for them. He could have danced with her all night but with this being the state visit of the Indian royal family to the Turkish court, this night felt difficult. Aslan hadn’t sorted it out yet. It felt like they were on display, like this was a final test. He ignored it in favor of leading Antara into a spin and then pulling her close again. “Have I told you that you look beautiful tonight?” | @vntvrv
she had spent an abnormal amount of time getting ready for the evening --- she had changed her jewelry at least three times before going along with the original plan. she wasn’t sure if the feeling she was filled with was excitement, anxiety or a messy mix of the two things. “ you have now, ” she replied as a delicate smile spread on her face. “ thank you. ” her hand moved slightly to the nape of her neck and her thumb softly stroked the hard edge of his jawline. “ you look dashing as always. it’s quite unfair --- did you wake up like this ?”
20/04/2015
They’d won the game. Osman had made the winning goal just as the buzzer went off and Aslan was on cloud 9. After he celebrated with his team on the field, he actually climbed the front of the stands and vaulted over the railing to stand in front of Antara, smiling at her brightly, still a little out of breath and his jersey soaked with sweat. “Hey Bebek,” is all he can manage before he kissed her, still grinning. “You’re going to have to come to all my games now. You’ll be good luck charm.” | @vntvrv
despite answering his kiss, antara almost immediately took a step back. “ bebek... “ her voice was low as she mimicked him. “ you’re kind of disgusting right now. ” a laugh slipped past her lips that later formed a bright smile. she patted his forehead with a small towel before handing it to him. “ winners don’t need luck, only skill. i think you have enough of that. “ and she wasn’t sure if she could do this monthly. weekly ? first time was always the most exciting one anyways. she pressed a quick kiss on his lips before opening her purse. “ speaking of lucky charms... i did get you a little something. “ she pulled out a small box. “ for the dinner. “ he probably had a whole drawer of cufflinks but they were the male version of earrings if you asked antara --- and no woman could have too many pairs of earrings.
“ i will be straightforward with you because i know that’s what you prefer. ” antara considered herself lucky in the situation: there was no gold coverage extensive enough for her business. “ you’re not very liked anymore. you as in your people, i’m not sure about the way people perceive you as an individual but given the circumstances... ” and her peculiar way to conduct business. “ how are you planning to fix this ? i think it will take a bit more than a sincere apology. ” [ @vnncli ]
“ please, sit with me, this is table is big enough for the both of us, “ antara told the woman and gestured to the empty seat. “ pretty surprising: it looks like the whole building decided to come enjoy the afternoon sun. please princess, you’re too important to be standing there. ” the north was a funny place in antara’s opinion, and everyone who had blue eyes, golden hair and skin white as snow, seemed to have big plans in the works. the german duchess, the finnish princess... but what about this one ? [ @ebbv ]
“ it’s proven then: men are fools. ” her hand softly stroked the princess’ upper arm. antara tried her hardest to appear comforting because even with the greatest sincerity in her actions, she still sometimes managed to appear indifferent to other people’s sorrows. “ it’s better not to get too involved with the situation is southern africa. messes are messes and it doesn’t matter how beautiful the deliverer is. ” [ @fannicroy ]
laylabahiti:
layla thanked her once the teacup was in her grasp, taking a sip. “well, if you ever do need anything, i am usually around to help.” a favor, almost as if she owed the other princess. “i am mostly settled, except for a couple more shopping trips for furniture and decor. i would recommend doing that first, personalizing your apartment. oh, and if you are not keen on cleaning, you should hire a maid. we have ours do a general cleaning once a week.”
“ i’ll keep that in mind, thank you. ” a slightly warmer smile was offered to the princess. kindness, the pure kind, was always noted --- and appreciated. “ it’s just an apartment, ” antara pointed out. “ it’s not a home. ” she preferred not to spend her time on perfecting temporary things. a bleak overly modern apartment wouldn’t feel like hers even if she had brought everything from carpets to her dresser with her. “ ours ? ” she had thought his brother was still in egypt.

LIPS PART WIDE IN MOCK DELIGHT. ❝ that’s the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me in 2019 yaar , mubharakhon. ❞ jokes aside , he’s pleased they’re more or less in a home away from home. having to endure diwali by himself in norway was brutal. ❝ not that much different from the winters in kashmir. besides there’s heating indoors na ? not so bad. ❞ he returns the hug gently with a contented exhale. he may not agree with her father’s methods or the way he claimed his power , but antara’s a welcome face amongst these . . . people. ❝ of course. i’d be surprised if it were any different. anyway , enough about that. how are you settling into the apartment ? need any help ? ❞
“ there’s this thing called valentine’s day and it is almost here, perhaps someone will make up for the lack of attention, hmm ? ” her hand glides through the air to dismiss the truly ridiculous suggestion. her eyes, however, settle on him and she arches a brow. cooped up with beautiful women ? did he have it in him to resist the temptation ? “ so you were pampered. i worried for nothing. ” rohan is easy to be around. it is not a competition with him and she sees him far too rarely to grow tired of him and his less favourable traits. rohan is simply the best conversation partner she could ask for. “ it’s almost finished, actually. i got people to decorate it before i arrived. my bookshelf looks stupidly empty though. the woman i hired bought exactly five books and picked them based on the cover and how they fit the colour scheme of my living room. ” she lets out a short laugh. “ so now i have a book on 500 most important shoes ever designed. i was hoping i’d find at least one classic but the remaining four are about women finding themselves, or traveling. i’d like to know what she thinks of me. ”
❝ KAMAAL HAI NA ? i came home , loaded up on briyani and laal maas thinking it’ll be years before i get it again , and now we’re in dubai. i have to start putting in more hours at the gym. ❞ he’d once told her to run far from this madness — today , he won’t admit it , but he’s pleased to see her. ❝ you should see them complaining about the heat — it’s only february , can you imagine how they’ll be in april ? ❞ easy for him to say , his home-state in india is mostly desert as well. ❝ bhai kaise hai teri ? ❞ //. @vntvrv
“ don’t worry: if you end up losing that infamous physique of yours, i’ll still reserve a spot for you in my heart --- the same can’t be said for everyone though so be careful. ” she briefly wondered exactly how much he would have to eat before risking anything. “ how was the cold winter of norway for you ? ” her brow quirks. had she been around to hear it, she probably would have heard a few selected words on the low temperatures. “ but i’ll take your word for it. it’ll be as annoying as having mosquitoes by your ears. simply unbearable. ” at last she softly wraps an arm around him and gives him a light hug. “ busy busy busy. the grooming has begun. ” he’d be a different man by the time he ascended the throne. “ but dubai... dubai might lure him in. who knows. “
laylabahiti:
“layla, just layla, and i am not one to deny a cup of tea.” layla was hardly acquainted with woman, but she couldn’t let her be stuck in solitude. when she sat, she asked, “was there something i could help you with?”
“ just layla. ” clearly she wasn’t one to demand respect. poor little thing. she picked up the teapot and filled the other cup before pushing it over to the princess. “ i can’t think of a favour, ” antara replied with a smile. the delicate kind, the kind that certainly did not sprout from the heart. “ but you should tell me how you’re settling in. all tips are welcome. ”
