Happy Birthday, KAITO! Released 10 years ago today for the VOCALOID engine by YAMAHA and Crypton Future Media, he was the first Japanese male vocal. His voice is provided by singer Naoto Fuga, and his voicebank is designed to be a counterpart to MEIKO’s.
KAITO only sold 500 units in his first year of his release, making him the only VOCALOID voicebank to ever be officially called a “failure”, though sales finally grew after the release of Hatsune Miku.
Happy Birthday, Cyber Diva! Released 1 year ago for the VOCALOID4 engine by YAMAHA, she is an English voicebank aimed at aimed at American producers. She is officially VY3 in Yamaha’s VY series despite having it not being in her name, unlike VY1 and VY2. Although not officially confirmed, entertainer Jenny Shima claims to be Cyber Diva’s voice provider.
Happy Birthday, MEIKO V3! MEIKO’s VOCALOID3 update was released 2 years ago today by Crypton Future Media, Inc. It’s improvements over the VOCALOID1 vocal include new recordings, 5 voicebanks (Power, Straight, Dark, Whisper, and English), improved smoothness and clarity, and use of the Cross Synthesis feature if imported to VOCALOID4.

He is American accented with a notably deep voice provided by a voice actor only known as “Frank S.”, though he was originally to be voiced by Elvis impersonator Micheal King.
His late release gave birth to the term “BIG AL’s syndrome”, referring to the tendency of male voicebanks’ releases to be delayed.
Happy Birthday Yuzuki Yukari! Released 4 years ago today by AH-Software Co. Ltd. for the VOCALOID3 engine, she has a soft and natural sounding voice provided by voice actress Chihiro Ishiguro. She was the first VOCALOID to also be released as a VOICEROID, a text to speech program, and was AH-Software’s first release for VOCALOID3.
Happy Birthday CUL! She was released 4 years ago today by Internet Co., Ltd. for the VOCALOID3 engine in collaboration with VOCALO Revolution, which she was originally a mascot for. Prior to becoming an official VOCALOID she used VY1’s voicebank, but her own voice is provided by voice actress and singer Eri Kitamura.
Happy Birthday AVANNA! Released 3 years ago today by Zero-G Limited, she was the only English female voice for the VOCALOID3 engine. Her soft voice is provided by an Irish singer known only as “Rachel.” and her art and final design are by western producer AkiGlancy, also known as EmpathP.

In August, YAMAHA announced their collaboration with Unity Japan Technologies to release a VOCALOID version of their mascot Unity-chan. The latest update from their website reveals that VOCALOID 4 Unity-chan will have her sales premier at the "COMIKET 89" event.
The release date for Vocaloid Unity-chan (project name: PROJECT AKAZA. AKAZA is the name of the darker-skinned girl) has been announced for January of 2016 at a price of around 10,000 Yen, including tax. Unity-chan will only be sold as a digitally and be compatible with VOCALOID Editor 4, VOCALOID Editor for Cubase and Piapro Studio.
More info on AKAZA is expected to be released on or near Unity-chan’s release date.
