clear-ly, we are made for each other ✿ gintoki
Freedom had been tempting... but Clear did not desire violence.
His only want in this new universe was to learn. That was what he wanted in most places -- a chance to observe, to live a life he had never been allowed until Oji-san's selfless act had granted him this in the first place. He worried about Aoba, as he always did -- where was Master? Was he safe and separate of this chaos? -- but even then, that was still a distant preoccupation. His Master was capable and smart, a strong and kind person... he could take care of himself even if Clear wanted to be there to care for him, too. For now, that would just have to wait.
For now, it was his job to care for Gintoki.
Their first meeting had been chaotic at best, and yet Clear simply... attracted that kind of behavior wherever he went. Discourse and clumsiness seemed to be his closest allies; Gintoki had proved to be similarly misfortunate. In a way, they were a match made in heaven... and Clear truly liked his partner. What was probably strange and gross and weird to others was an absolute joy to the learning robot, of which he enjoyed every moment they spent together. He felt new and different emotions in his presence; even without him, he felt sensations and desires he had never experienced before. He did not fear the unknown, not like the others. He did not even hate what he did not understand -- no, quite the contrary, he embraced it wholeheartedly, eager to share himself with someone who seemed somewhat content to do the same.
Their connection was heightened, now, with a telepathy that allowed Clear a much more personal means of looking out for him. Gintoki was not helpless, of course -- except with fires, which Clear had decided to keep him away from since that day -- but that did not stop Clear from making sure he was at his side whenever necessary. This was his new duty, a role he needed to fulfill with the absence of Aoba. Master would have wanted that, right? No matter the circumstances, he would have done the same, just as Oji-san would have. Their kindness and caring natures... it was what Clear loved about both of them. Remembering them this way made Clear's resolve stronger evermore; for them and for Gintoki, too, Clear would do his absolute best.
Gin-saaaan! ✿ Did you hear that?
He thought following the announcement, standing amongst the others outside. Everyone seemed very concerned... to some degree, he felt he should be, too -- wasn't that a normal thing to be feeling, now? -- but there was something in him that felt more excited than scared. Perhaps it was Gintoki's ease that he felt like a warm embrace... or perhaps it was the faith he had in his wayward partner overall. Both worked in mysterious ways.
Clear knew things would be okay.
Are you well? Where are you? We should get together.
