OOC;
Right so I slacked off to watch Gintama one day only to regret that decision when my mood to rp went to shit after that, so I fell behind with replies.
But anyway, I think I just have Clear and Chiyo's replies left for now, please lemme know if I owe you a reply but didn't notice, I hope the activity page aint lying to me. I'll try and work on more tomorrow!
Her mind’s running around the idea of MONSTERS waiting to grab her and EAT her. IT’S JUST WHAT SHE THOUGHT WOULD HAPPEN!! She knew it! She’s not even paying any attention to the boy in front of her - instead, her eyes are wide and surveying her surroundings and she turns around several times, arms outstretched, poised for an attack. But as soon as he says eat —
"E-e-eeeat?????" Her voice ends squeaky and shaky. OH MY GOD!!! She’s going to be eaten!! This is exactly! what she knew was going to happen!! And now she watches him turn away, her whole body quivering. "W……" She gulps. "W-wAIT!" And her eyes close, bracing herself. "I……..".
Oh boy, she's really freaking out. This is gold, and he's got the best seat in the house to watch her epic reactions. He has to fight to straighten his face before he turns back to her, keeping a solemn expression despite the fact that he's stifling his laughter. She'd probably buy anything he says right now, even if he said there was something right behind her.
He somehow manages to keep his voice steady as he looks her in the eye. His tone is completely uninterested as he responds with an "Eh?" and awaits her next response. He's really getting a kick out of this.

Milla is no stranger to battles that seem far beyond the capability of a lone woman. Despite a history of relying on the Four’s power to defeat her enemies, her more recent endeavors have shaped her into a perfectly capable fighter. However, without a partner to watch her back as she casts, taking down so many targets with a single sword is proving to be…a challenge.
These “experiments” were nothing like the monsters of Rieze Maxia or Elympios. She could not find any elemental weaknesses to exploit and the nearby tree branches kept her field of attacks relatively grounded. Although at a clear disadvantage she is not particularly frightened, (at least, not yet). Milla instead charges forward once more, attacking the ring of beasts that has cut her off from the rest of the forest, with only a stray thought to mention how nice it would be to have some sort of backup.
Gintoki is just walking around aimlessly, because as nice as lazing around at camp is, there is no Jump to read here, and sleeping all day can be boring even for him. A part of him dreads it, because it has been nothing but trouble since they've been trapped in the forest surrounding the facility, what with monsters wandering the grounds and some kids getting in trouble with those already.
He was tempted to walk away the instant he heard the sounds of trouble. It was obvious there was a fight going on; but on the other hand that obviously meant this was someone who could defend themselves, right?
A soft sigh escaped as he relents and charges forward, not able to in good conscience walk away and be able to face himself after. Pulling his bokuto forth from where it is slung through his belt, he sends the wooden blade whistling through a line of the creatures, sending them flying with painful yelps and whimpers as he cut through to back up the woman, who is fighting with unyielding gaze. Those are good eyes.
"Oi, oi. That's a lot of these things in one place."
When she was put down and where, she wasn’t quite sure. It wasn’t very easy to try and comprehend much when she had only acknowledged she was on the ground during a brief moment of consciousness. She figured she probably woke herself up kicking about in her sleep as usual, but it must not have taken too long for her to fall asleep as when she opened her eye with the intention of staying awake, she could hardly recall herself lying there and thinking about much for long.
Pushing herself up after some time, she blinked when something fell to her lap, looking down to see it was a fabric of some kind. Zero felt that was strange, but that was only the start of it; the fact she was near a fire, and the surroundings… Camp, it seemed. The idiot actually took her back, not taking the advantage while she was asleep and snoring to drop her off alone somewhere.
Blinking dazedly as if she had been asleep for hours (although not even one had passed), she rubbed hard at her eye and snorted obnoxiously, which was unladylike and probably gross, but it wasn’t as if she cared. She didn’t even think anyone heard until she looked up, more focused now, to see Gintoki.
Her eye narrowed and her nose wrinkled as though she was disgusted, but she was more confused than anything else. There were a lot of questions she could ask him, such as why he carried her all the way back here and kept her somewhat warm when earlier he spoke like it would be a blessing if she rotted in the snow.
However, rather than making any inquiry, she pulled the cloth back over her shoulders and stated simply, “I’m hungry.”
The sounds of stirring went ignored, dismissed as Zero shifting in her sleep, but the obnoxious snort caused him to turn and look, wondering if that sound was one she made in her sleep and ready to shelve the memory to mock her about it in future.
It turned out that she was awake though, which made it all the more amazing, and not in the positive awe-struck sense of the word. It was obvious that she had just woken up; pity, she had actually been cute asleep without her toxic tongue ruining the impression one got from features that were actually rather delicate.
And of course, the first thing out her mouth was outright stating that she was hungry. Like he was supposed to do something about it, never mind the fact that he had in fact managed to catch a wayward hare while keeping watch earlier. That was kind of annoying wasn't it? Still, there was her unusual behaviour to consider, a state which seemed less resolute than what he had come to see as the norm from her.
"What a snort. And telling me you're hungry like that - ya trying to give pigs a run for their money or something?"
Even with his ungracious words, he set about preparing to roast the meat for the two of them, a tantalising smile soon drifting toward his nose.
Wow…. some people sure are nice. Offering to guide her like that - he doesn’t even know her! (Which still kind of worries her a bit, but he seems like a good enough guy…. right??). It’s tempting, tempting because there’s no way she’s making out of this place alive. Or in one piece. In fact, she’s pretty sure there’s an alien waiting in his invisible spacecraft right above her head, waiting to zap her up and experiment on her.
It’s only a matter of time.
But this… this would be too imposing! She couldn’t make him tag along.. he had other more important things to do, she’s sure…. But when he speaks, her heart drops.
W ww what?? So fast? He….serious….. Cccreatures??? ”A c-chcchance TO DO WHAT?” Ok yeah she ended up yelling but in this situation, who wouldn’t?
Her reaction was every bit as priceless as he had imagined it would be, and it makes him wanna mess with her for just a little longer. He's been bored anyway.
Stopping and turning to face her, he digs at his ear with his pinky, free hand slung through the front of his yukata, actually worn right given the weather. "Eh? A chance to eat you of course." Almost right on cue, a distant howl is heard, and although it is distant enough that they are most definitely safe. Still, it should be enough given her panicked state.
"But what are the chances right? I'm sure you'll be just fine alone."
He turns back around as if to walk away, a casual backhand wave in pretend farewell.

She half-opened her eye, staring at him but silent for a while. It wasn’t that she trusted him, not really, but there was something about him… He irritated her, sure, but she felt as though she could rest easy around him, which was why she stuck around. It didn’t necessarily mean she felt completely relaxed around him either, however. Attempting to put a word to the feeling seemed impossible, so even if she wanted to be perfectly honest with him, she didn’t think she could. Whatever it was, Zero still felt perfectly neutral about him. The man was far too confusing to form a solid opinion on so far, except for the fact he was … far too confusing.
“…I know, but that doesn’t mean I need you. I’ve only kept you around for that because you know what you’re doing, okay?” It was obvious she tried to sound snappy, but it was lost in her drowsiness. Her words were nowhere even close to the full story, but she wasn’t about to tell him what she thought prior anyway – especially while it didn’t even make sense to her.
Not protesting or even reacting at all to being moved, Zero simply closed her eye again and kept silent. How ridiculous she felt like this, but she wouldn’t complain. As long as she was warm, she was satisfied.
Acknowledging that she could hardly find the will to keep herself awake, she sighed and allowed her body to relax fully, head now against his body as he allowed although she wasn’t even aware of it. While she still had the consciousness to do, barely audibly she spoke, “Drop me and I’ll kick your ass.”
At least it wasn’t a death thread this time.
"Mmm."
Her rough words had lost their usual edge to drowsiness, and Gintoki's reply was dismissive., now more preoccupied with letting the girl who seemed uncharacteristically tired catch some rest. The closing of her eye hadn't been particularly worrying on its own, and even now it could hardly be said that Gintoki was actually concerned. Still, the fact that she had allowed herself to relax like this was...different.
He'd held her in his arms a few times to date, but to do so in this way was the first. The thought slipped away only to linger at the back of his head, barely noticeable unless you knew to look. He let it lie, uninterested.
Gintoki was silent as he picked his way through the trees, deftly stepping over protruding roots and stepping past any hazards on the return to their campsite. Setting her gently down against a tree not far from the remnants of their previous campfire, he tossed some firewood onto the pile of half-charred wood and ashes, warmth flaring as he managed to get a fire going.
Shaking the snow off a piece of cloth that had been left lying around, he warmed it up at the fire before carefully draping it around the shoulders of the girl. Seemingly satisfied that she could rest properly like this, Gintoki stood at the outer edge of the copse of trees, silently keeping watch as she rested.
She tries to keep positive - tries really really hard to keep a bright smile stretched across lips but sometimes…. ok a lot of times she gets distracted by panic and anxiety that likes to bubble up and consume her. Even now, the smile doesn’t last too long and she’s eyeing the forest around her, biting her lip, worried…. always worried.
"Wait, really?? Wow!" HOW CONVENIENT. Why didn’t she know about this before now?? Well… maybe she just never noticed it…..She’d always been too busy freaking out about the connection in general. "….You would do that??" Her heart thumps. "B-but I don’t want to inconvenience you!! I’m sure I’ll be able to find my way….." She trails off, eyeing the forest once more.
He notices the signs that not all the chirpiness is truthful, but keeps his observations to himself, silently watching her amazement at his revelation, and her subsequent hesitance to ask him to stay with her. Perhaps it would be fun to see her squirm a little, though he by no means actually intended to just leave her be.
"Ah, is that so? I'll just be heading off then. You be careful, I hear there are some weird creatures wandering around, waiting for a chance to..." His voice trails off as he gives her a meaningful gaze before turning on his heels and walking away ever so deliberately.
“You wanna die? I doubt it, so shut up.” Pursing her lips, she paused, attempting to count the amount of times she had already threatened to kill him so far. A count wasn’t really being kept, but she knew it had been way too many times already. He was such a nuisance it was almost impressive. “And I wasn’t scared. I was … startled,” she finished, exhaling at the last word as if suddenly tired. And she was, really.
For some time now, her flower had given her more constant hits of exhaustion, which only served to be a bother when it got in the way of searching for another dragon. It wasn’t too bad for now, and Zero hoped it remained that way until she got a sudden kick of energy as what would also usually happen. The last thing she wanted to do was fall asleep while he was carrying her.
At his comment, she huffed, sounding almost haughty. "It wouldn’t be that difficult. You said that yourself.” Eyeing him now, she continued, “So don’t starting acting like I need you. It’s just better for me this way.” Getting almost too comfortable, she shut her eye. When she was being transported like this without having to worry about much, she couldn’t help it. The same thing had happened even riding on top of a dragon. “Less to deal with.”
There it was, that threat again. How many times had she thrown it about now? He simply quirked an eyebrow at her stating that she had been startled rather than scared. Still, he noticed the tiredness in her voice, although he chose to say nothing on the matter.
Perhaps she really was tired. While her retorts were much the same as what he had come to expect of her, there was the fact that he had found her simply lying in the snow, and now, the uncharacteristic closing of her eye. There was a certain vulnerability to the action, a letting down of her guard which was constantly up, which was most certainly uncharacteristic of her. On anyone else, it might have been worrying.
"Hah? You don't need me, but if you really wanted to go through the trouble of finding someone else, you'd have done so by now."Although his retort was still laced with that teasing edge, it was said in a softer tone, as if making a final retort to a tired child.
In an almost subconscious gesture, he adjusted her position in his arms to one that was at the very least more comfortable than being carried like a sack of rice, angling her so she could lean her head against him if she so wished.
"Both, more or less!" However considering she’s still trying to figure out this whole "bond" thing, it’s mostly the first…. "I’m sure I’ll be able to find him eventually! It’s only a matter of time….." Maybe if she fell on her face a couple more times, Accel will find her - it seems to have worked before.
This girl...sure was carefree, given the circumstances. Well, that was fine wasn't it? Better that than tears; tears, Gintoki would be unable to stand by and ignore.
"Oi, oi. You know your mark tells you when you're getting closer to your partner right? It kinda...yanks more." That wasn't really the word, but it didn't really matter as long as it got the message across well enough. "Better than wandering aimlessly eh? As a special service, Gin-san will even walk with you for awhile." Who knew what kind of trouble this girl would find herself in alone.

\The talons that had reached out to her dug themselves into her exposed ankles, stopping only momentarily before they resumed their tirade, now gripping at her waist and pulling her back towards a fate worse then death. Already tender knees brushed against the slim path of frozen ice above the earth, causing another sharp pain to race through her. Her broken fingernails slid into the ground as she continued to weep, her fists pulling up large roots, broken icicles and wet dirt in large clumps as she struggled to regain control of the situation.
She didn’t want to go like this — she didn’t want to die.
There had been so many days during her stay here that she’d wished for something to happen. For a chance at freedom, for a taste of truly fresh air from anywhere that was not the confines of the facility. She’d prayed every night for someone to save her, for her to be rescued — for everyone to be rescued! Even those whom were less then kind to her deserved the right to return home; though they all didn’t find themselves warming up to each other, everyone shared the same ideal to find their way back.

Crimson eyes looked steadily into the distance as Gintoki watched for any sign of further attack, allowing himself to relax and lower his sword only after a short time had passed. The hell had that even been? One of the strange experiments let loose upon this, no doubt. His hand tightened around the grip of his bokuto momentarily before slipping it back through his belt, a flash of anger at this pointless and meaningless shell of a hunting ground.
There were no enemies here, so they had decided to make some? The persons who had started this quite obviously saw the lives of those here with much triviality. Casting the thoughts from his head, he turned to face the girl behind him, taking in her rather miserable state.
She could only frown more when Gintoki responded. She hadn’t exactly meant what she said; nothing sounded pleasant about being dropped in the snow, and as much as she didn’t care for him as a person, she was definitely appreciating his body warmth. If she could put him to use, then she certainly would use him, but she didn’t say anything. Of course he wouldn’t actually drop her.
At least she thought so before she felt herself falling for the quickest of seconds.
Zero stared wide-eyed in front of her, arms wrapped tightly around his neck in more of an instinctive reaction and less of something she actually wanted to do. If she had a choice, she would never show she could be so startled in front of him, but just about anyone would look as stupid as she was sure she did. Not that it changed anything.
Eyes slanting in clear anger, she lowered her arms, silent for a moment before clenching her right hand into a fist and jerking it over her past body, knuckles impacting sharply against his shoulder. “You fucking idiot! Don’t scare me like that!” Her voice held a higher pitch to it, making her sound younger and less irritated than usual, although she was, without a doubt, pissed … and maybe a little embarrassed.
“You should be glad I don’t have my sword with me ‘cause I would have sliced your head right off!” An exaggeration as usual, but she would have done more than punch him if she wasn’t still in his arms. Speaking of, it was odd — she felt even warmer now, although it was probably just due to the scare.
He grinned even as her punch landed, thoroughly enjoying the expressions her face had shown in such a short space of time. Her wide-eyed, almost panicked look and arms wrapped tightly around his neck, transitioning into her usual anger and agitation. Just as he thought, it was extremely entertaining to break her usual violent and high-handed composure.
He was even tempted to find new ways.
But for now, unless he used the same trick, there was not much else he could do, so he settled for meeting her anger with teasing on his part.
"Didn't know you could get scared. Ya should'ave seen the look on your face." A snicker as he kept plodding onward, steady steps carrying them both forward as he glanced back down to meet her glare.
"You sure about that? If you do that, ya gonna have to go through the trouble of finding someone else to meet your needs." All in all, he was reveling in the amusement he had found in this new game of his, unperturbed by her classically violent threats.
Zero was so startled by being lifted into his arms that it actually took her a moment to realize she was, in fact, in his arms. She shot him a look of pure fury, but make no move to get herself on the ground or hit him or anything of the like. While she definitely did have the energy for it, her features began to relax when she felt some of his warmth against her skin. She hated being this close despite what they agreed to engage in, but the heat was nice. If the situation wasn’t already so easy to misinterpret, she would have pressed closer against him.
Shifting her gaze to eye him after he spoke, she frowned. “Then you could have turned around and left me there. There wasn’t a need to carry me with you if you’re gonna bitch about it.”
"If you’re going to keep complaining, let go of me."
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the lack of a violent reaction to his picking her up. Slightly curious, Gintoki glanced down in time to see her look of fury relax into something softer, and the grin on his face spread. Hey, who knew she could make a face like that too? It made him want to try and see what other faces she could make aside from her usual irritated ones. Was that glint in his eye one of mischief or sadism? It was hard to tell.
"Ah, is that so~?" Taking on his usual apathetic face, he managed to lend an edge of irritation to his words, which were said as nonchalantly as you would imagine of someone who did not care and was in fact considering letting go of her. "Maybe I should then."
Almost as soon as he said that, he moved his left arm out from where it was supporting her legs, and just as quickly caught her again, all the while glancing at her face to see her reaction at nearly being dropped.
How fun~. Was he holding her a little closer this time?
Everyone seriously needs to clean up their acts. It kinda stinks around here.
