Fire Breathing Dragon by sandara
SPC - Wind Dragon by Lumaris
Zanza was never really raised as child should have been, children are suppose to go out and have fun and make mistakes but given that he is royalty, he along with his brothers were raised to be in line for the throne. This involved neglect, emotional and physical abuse at times (which is one of the reasons why he holds contempt for his Grandfather and Father, moreso his Grandfather). The few times he got to go out and play with others were often cut short as well so he had no lasting friendships. This coupled with the fact that the majority of his children are dead has left him in a state of constantly needing to protect and care for children to the point that he will take in orphans and the like just so they a) would no longer have to feel any sort of hardship b) to ease his guilt of having failed his sons and daughters.
If he hears that the children he regards as his own are being harmed or are in any sort of trouble he will become violent immediately and will seek to kill/destroy/diffuse whoever and whatever is causing the problem. (This is where a problem could come up in his morals, because if the 'problem' happens to be a child as well then he will feel immense guilt but even so he will not hesitate to harm them/kill them if he feels that he has to.)
Oh — suddenly not on the ground! Oh! Okay! “Zanza’s home is really nice. Even if Misi still gets lost a whole lot. Misi likes the hallways.”
"I am glad you like it, don't worry you will learn your way around eventually." If not then he could always ask around! "The hallways? Out of everything? Expected to hear something about the food.~"
“Zanza!!" Look at that happy face. "Zaaaaaanza!!”
And the old dragon will merely scoop up the boy and grin. "Hello, Misi.~"
He’s mentally blocked out the image of Zanza killing that lady. Coping tactics for the win.
Good, Zanza doesn't feel bad for killing the assassin but he certainly feels bad for not noticing Misi before he did it.
⇢⇢⇢▌✘✘✘▐ Misi had seen people die before, he’d seen people get killed.. much like that woman had just been killed. Most people didn’t remember things from their infancy or toddler years, but Misi’s memory was clear as crystal — about all things, not just his past. He always remembered things. He remembered how the slavers had treated him and the others. His mother thought he’d forgotten about it in an amnesiac way, but he hadn’t. He didn’t want her to know he still had nightmares about it. The boy’s gaze flickered back and forth between Zanza and the woman. He reached up and tugged at a strand of his hair, he looked to the ground. “If she did something bad, it’s only natural.” It was a phrase he’d been force fed for years. If they did something bad, of course punishment was in order. It was normal. Natural. Logical. “Misi is sorry he saw.”
╯-{♕}-╰ If Zanza was made aware of Misi's past it would be met with both rage and sorrow, no one should have to go through such a horrid thing. "She was fighting for her home, there is nothing bad about that aside from her course of action." But in the end he was just the same as was every soldier and ruler, they all took lives for their homes or tried to in this case. "There is no need to apologize, this isn't your fault." Hesitant steps were taken towards the young boy, almost as if to allow his guilt to lessen and give Misi time to move away if he wished. "I am sorry."
’ oh, such a shame… '
she wasn’t a very good assassin, then, if she had been caught. Not like Adrastia truly cares, especially considering she was not the target. Sunset eyes lock on the male she now stood near, a soft hum passing parted lips. The Queen couldn’t bring herself to look at the corpse any longer, despite her numbness towards death.
’ she looked young. '
╯-{♕}-╰ He turned and crossed his arms, finally gazing at the woman with disinterested eyes. "I did not expect them to follow me so soon, no matter." While the other turned away, Zanza kept his gaze locked on her body. "Why they would send children I will never understand." For a moment Zanza swore he saw his dead daughters in the corpses place. "I apologize for the sight."
It was Misi’s first time coming here, to where Zanza lived. He’d been having fun, mostly; playing with hid children. They were fun, but now they were playing a hide and seek sort of game and Misi was ‘it’. And for the life of him, he couldn’t find anybody!! He’d even managed to get himself lost, and the last thing he’d expected to see upon turning a corner was… that. He stood, bare feet padding slowly to a stop, eyes wide. “Z-.. Zanza?”
╯-{♕}-╰ Fear was a constant in the old emperor's life but never of this magnitude. His children knew of the things their father must do for the kingdom but Misi---the small child he had come to consider as his own son, what would he say? Zanza slowly set the dead woman gently on the ground and turned. He would not cower, he would face this problem head on. "I apologize for this, I had not counted on you finding me ending the life of another." An assassin.
there is a curious look on the Dragon’s face as she observes the odd situation with a blank expression. There is no sense of guilt or disgust when she sees the brutal execution performed, finding herself quite entertained by it, in fact. The screaming was a bit annoying, however.
' —what did she do to deserve such a fate, mm? '
╯-{♕}-╰ The woman's presence does no receive a negative reaction from the old dragon and he does not look at her when he speaks next, hoping that his thick accent would be understood. "Assassin." It was saddening really, that opposing kingdoms would send another out onto this plane just to kill him. He let go of the woman's corpse and placed it gently upon the ground. "I'll have to bring her home." And send her body back to the enemy kingdom.
╯-{♕}-╰ In the Emperor’s hand there is a woman, a struggling woman who sought to take his life. Her face is held firmly, with no unnecessary pressure applied to her skull but that ends once Zanza allows fire to flow freely from his palm. He ignores her screaming and merely waits until her hold on his wrist slackens and she ceases moving.
