Alright FFVII fans (and other willing volunteers), enough dancing around it! With a month to go until Rebirth comes out, it's time to discuss the title of the third game in this trilogy!
We already have Remake and Rebirth of course, plus the Crisis Core Reunion prequel and the Retrograde DLC (or was it Remission? (EDIT: it's Intergrade and Intermission. I'm an idiot, of course)), so we all see the pattern, don't we? Thus, I shall wager that the final game in this saga shall be one of THESE WORDS:
I'm not exactly a prankster, so while I know I'm putting my life in the hands of the internet here, I am willing to accept suggestions on some kind of forfeit if the third game doesn't have one of these titles. Purely for fun, but why not? I figure my odds are pretty goo-OH, RECONFIGURE, DARN IT!
So yeah, place your bets, cast your votes and throw in your ideas! What do you think will be the name of the final game of the FFVII remake trilogy?
I played way too much of that Tumblr snake game from like a month or two ago and amassed a ton of asks from it, clogging up my inbox. I'm just going to clear them all out here, so if you want to hear all my dumb gaming opinions/preferences, here's a masterpost for you:
Console. Dabbled a little in PC, but never been big on it.
Too many. There are a lot of game I'm interested in and I've regularly been swept up in big deals and offers. I just counted through my Steam library and got to ~106 games in it that I've picked up that I've not played or haven't meaningfully made an effort to finish yet. And that's just my PC gaming library - the medium I only dabble in! (To be fair, it's also Steam, the service that has insanely good deals all the time.)
I've largely stopped buying games at this point, but there's little on the market to interest me these days anyway, which make that easier.
Ooh, there's a lot of good choice there. This may be formative gaming experiences shaping this, but I think I have to say Jak and Daxter. The western cartoon/eastern anime hybrid style that Naughty Dog came up with for those games, with such colourful characters, visually striking environments, varied monster enemies, etc., it's so good! I miss that world so much and I wish more game art styles did stuff like that instead of either going full cartoon/comic/etc. or hyper-realistic.
The World Ends With You isn't far behind. Loved the comic-book-esque aesthetic of that game, among many other things.
My particular answer for this is Kingdom Hearts II. Back when it first came out, it took a while to cross from America to the UK and I was at an age where I spoiled myself by looking up the endings to things before I watched or played them. I don't know why I did that and I wish I could go back in time to explore the KH2 story (which was full of wild twists) without knowing ahead of time what would happen. I'm curious how that might have shaped my perceptions.
This might qualify as medicine more than food, but I'd love to know what Elixers taste like in pretty much any fantasy game that has them.
I've actually animated videos using LittleBigPlanet 3's creation tools to aid in church ministry, which has been a lot of fun to work with! Good thing to add to the portfolio too!
Man, there's a lot of options there. Some of them are still ongoing. I'd suppose it to be Pokemon LeafGreen though, being pretty much the only Pokemon game I was ever totally devoted to in my childhood. There's a lot of nostalgia there, along with associations with old friends, but I'll spare you the personal details.
Ouch. Too many, once again. Probably Persona Q though. I was really looking forward to getting and playing it, but it just never took off after I got it and I've always felt like I missed out. I wish games didn't take up so much time.
In a broader sense, the Metal Gear Solid series. Played every game up to 4, but kept putting off playing the 5s until I'd played Peace Walker, which I put off because I wanted to replay 3, which I put off because that's a very long game. So I never saw through that series despite its weird technobabble and political nonsense that was so very entertaining to play through. Missed out on many fun conversations with friends about it because of that and I wish I could have been more on top of it.
OH! Also Fire Emblem Three Houses! I was so close to finishing one of its stories and I'd been keeping up with a friend on my progress, but I totally dropped the ball on completing it.
Okay, if they count as creatures, then easily the ottsel, mainly Daxter, from the Jak and Daxter series! It's just a hybrid of otter and weasel with an orange coat of fur, but something about that orange rodent, from his expressiveness to his sleek design, has just always been really cool to me.
But if they have to be animalistic creatures rather than human-intelligence characters, then I probably have to say the Neoshadows from Kingdom Hearts, especially as this kind of endgame evolution of the common Shadow enemies. They're so cool!
Special shout out to the colossi from Shadow of the Colussus though!
Are we talking songs or music? Either way, I only just finished Clair Obscur not that long ago and the music/songs from that game are so phenomenal that they're on loop in my head (especially Une vie à t'aimer(One life to love you)).
Ditto to Astro Bot, which I finished much further back ago. Both games have such excellent music!
I can't stop naming things, sorry, but His World or Knight of the Wind from Sonic, I'll Face Myself from Persona 4, Three Minutes Clapping from The World Ends With You and pretty much any song from Kingdom Hearts all regularly cycle their way back through my head.
I do, but I won't disclose it here.
Typically Jak and Daxter or one of the Kingdom Hearts'. I grew up with them, so there's a natural 'coming home' feeling to them, but they also have really solid stories with lovable characters that I feel at peace with.
Not sure I get this question. Couch co-op if you can get it, online if you have to. Always better to be with your loved ones.
I don't believe in luck, but I do consider myself blessed to even have the chance to play and enjoy video games as much as I do in the first place. I have regrets, but I'm very fortunate and I won't forget that easily.
Gosh, what a depressingly beautiful question! These games have been ticking a lot of boxes, but the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to mind more than any other. My friends at the time made fun of me for loving it so much, but I'm really glad it was in my life when it was and that it still is today, despite the many realistically bad issues that the series has, especially these days.
Made it through all the Common Questions, so now we're onto the Uncommons!
I always come back to Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends With You! Love his character design, skillset, wit, accomplishments, reflections, but above all, I love his character arc about how developing love for the people around him, from friends to strangers, opens up his world and develops him into a more heroic, kinder and happier person. I really enjoyed the similar but different arc of Rindo in the sequel - which was one I probably relate to a little more, in fact - but Neku's still my guy!
Massive shout out to Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII though!
Okay, there are a thousand correct answers to this, but one that lives rent-free in my head is the opening of Assassin's Creed II. The music is doing most of the load-bearing here, to be fair, but that cutscene that plays as the prologue comes to an end, with the dialogue, the camera shots, Ezio's theme music swelling, all just after a really fun 'day-in-the-life' playthrough that sets the stage for what's to come...
"It is a good life we lead, brother."
"The best. May it never change."
"And may it never change us."
[TITLECARD]
Chills. Every time.
If it has to be an opening cutscene, then I'm picking a game I've never played. The Dragon Ball Online Opening scene is just peak. It's a short film that inspires me with ideas every time I watch it. It connects you so much to the cast of characters that it presents without a single line of dialogue. I want to see more of that world! I've heard the game itself sadly wasn't that good, but THAT is how you set the stage!
Honorable mention to Mass Effect 3.
I believe Baldur's Gate 3 may be the objectively correct answer to this from all I've heard, but as I've never played that one, I'm not sure. Clair Obscur comes to mind very quickly though, being a game with much to discover and rediscover through gameplay that you may not have found the first time, a variety of playstyles that you can reinvent, and above all, a brilliant story with twists so game-changing that the narrative takes on a whole new meaning when you know what to look for from the start.
Such a good question! Weirdly enough, this brings the Witcher 3 to mind. I only played up to the end of the first act of that game, but I still remember the side quest during the prologue where you seek out the materials to make a potion that might just save the life of some random guy's daughter more than anything that was happening in the main story for my playthrough.
In fact, I'm pretty sure I stopped playing the game because I got stuck on a side-quest that I didn't want to skip, locking me in a stalemate.
Feels tempting to cheat and say Hogwarts Legacy to live in the Harry Potter world! But to choose a video-game-specific world and since video game worlds are typically nightmares that need to be saved by the exclusive skillset of the main protagonist so that chumps like me don't get mauled by zombies or something, I'll take the easy way out and choose Pokemon. Anyone can be a Pokemon trainer, and that would be pretty rad.
Close second to Kingdom Hearts though, so that I can potentially get my neck saved by Goofy and Donald Duck.
I mean, if we're just looking for pure aesthetics, I remember level 4 of Flower had a very pretty nighttime level.
The most distinct "night sky level" that I can think of that I'd consider most worth mentioning is the Yozora secret boss fight in Kingdom Hearts III's ReMind DLC. There are so many things about that fight that the night sky feels directly relevant to that I feel like it has to take the top spot!
Otherwise, The World That Never Was, in general, also from Kingdom Hearts.
What a reflective question!
...I'll see myself out.
I mentioned Rindo from the second TWEWY game, NEO, earlier. While I love Neku's journey more, I relate to Rindo's indecisiveness, his thoughtfulness (to the point of overthinking), his compassion for people, his fear of making the wrong decision and messing things up, his passive-aggressive private thoughts (that he learns to tone down and be a bit more humble over time), and his ultimate determination to do what needs to be done in spite of all those challenges. I find that inspiring and hope that I can see the best of Rindo in the best of me.
Now, at last, there's only two Rare Questions left!
I feel like this one really depends on how you want to define "got you". God of War Ragnarok had a plot twist that surprised me, and it's a great story moment, but it doesn't stick with me as much as the plot twist in Red Dead Redemption 2, even though I had that one spoiled. And then there's the twisting of the plot at the end of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which got me, alright. It got me all confused!
You know what, Star Wars Jedi Survivor and the aforementioned Clair Obscur are both games that have plot twists that both surprised me and had me thinking deeply about them long after finishing the story. I loved the way those games handled their twists and turns!
FINAL QUESTION:
Three out of my four Rare Questions were all this one. The mysterious cat really wants to know who's my best villain in gaming.
I'm pretty burned out by all these questions though, so I'll just rattle through villains that are very up there in my mind and hopefully my best villain is in there somewhere:
Lazaravic and Rafe from Uncharted, Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts, Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising, Sephiroth from FFVII, Metal Sonic, Merlina and Mephiles from Sonic the Hedgehog, Baldur and Odin from God of War, the twist villains from Persona 4 and Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Dr Nefarious from Ratchet and Clank, and Flowey from Undertale.
Alright, that's an absurd number of video game opinions from me that nobody asked for apart from a robot responding to me playing a lot of Snake on the Tumblr app for a month. Honestly, I just enjoyed the game. But it was fun to ramble about video games for a while, so if you stuck with all of this, thanks for listening to my random opinions! In good turn, I'd be happy to hear yours if you feel like sharing!
Alright folks, game onwards, I guess. End of post, etc.
important personality test: mario kart main, gas station order (candy, drink, chip), animal you were obsessed with when you were 8, lightsaber color, and lastly: vampires, werewolves or dragons?
i never play mario kart but the cute little mushroom one (toadette?)!
kitkat & a sugarfree redbull. or a monster but then the chocolate bar has to change because if i’m buying a drink and a snack then the wrapping colours have to match or be pleasingly complementary at the very least.
horses. to a concerning degree.
?? not a clue, i don’t go here.
hm, i used to have reoccurring nightmares about werewolves murdering my family in front of me as a child so i guess those bc i have no particularly strong feelings about the other two.
I only play Mario kart very occasionally, but when I do I always play tanuki mario :)
Oreos or haribos (specifically tangfastics) + Monster (pipeline, peach or mango) + salt and vinegar.
Probably wouldnt buy crisps if I was getting monster and sweets tho
Cats!!!!!! Still love em but when I was younger I was obsessed lol
Not a Star Wars enjoyer so idk? Is purple an option?? Blue???
Thanks for the tag @thewritingautisticat and @sunflowerrosy
Mario Kart Main: OooooO. I think it was Toad. I always loved the sound effects that Toad made. So, he was always my go-to pick.
Gas Station order: Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Vitamin Water (Usually the XXX one. Acai Blueberry Pomegranate) and either salt & vinegar or original chips. (Back in Canada. it was Old Dutch brand. In the US, it’s now usually Lays)
Animal I was obsessed with when I was 8: I’m pretty sure it was bears I was obsessed with when I was 8.
Lightsaber colour: I’m not a big Star Wars person. But I probably would have been red ngl. The lightsaber red was always appealing to me.
Vampires, werewolves, or dragons: Yes. but leaning heavily towards werewolves. Especially as I got older. (no. Jacob from Twilight had no effect on me whatsoever…🙃…he totally did…) What can I say?? I like my wild men…
Mario Kart Main: Waluigi, usually. Otherwise I like random dudes like the shy guy or the koopa troopers.
Gas Station Order: I don't really make orders like this, but based on other people's answers, I'd probably go for a Pepsi and a packet of crisps, either salted or cheesy.
Animal Obsession: Penguins. Club Penguin, Happy Feet, Surf's Up, etc., penguins were the coolest dudes around when I was 8.
Lightsaber Colour: I'd predict mine would be green, which I like. If I could choose my own with no restriction, I like the ideas of what orange could represent.
VWD: Dragons, all the way. Penguins and dragons have always been my guys.
Heyyyyy!!! I wish your day the best today!!! *SENDS MEGA GOOD VIBES!!!* your pfp is goated also!!!! 🧡🧡🧡🌟🌟🌟🌟💖💖💖🩷🩷🩷💜💜💜♥️♥️♥️🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
Sorry for leaving this in my inbox so long, but thank you very much!! This was very sweet of you! And I'm thoroughly enjoying the vibes of your profile picture too! Have a good day, yourself!
Pleasant greetings to you, and I hope your day or night is going well. I am merely asking with curiosity, how come you reacted with a question mark on this verse in the Christian community? I would just like your perspective is all.
Cheers! Yeah, it's always good to quote the Bible, but at the same time there are 31,102 verses in the Bible to quote. All of which have relevant context. How you use a Bible quote shows both your intent and understanding of God's word.
The account that posted that passage is called "Christianitykills" and, unsurprisingly, they are not a Christian. It's a troll account masquerading as a Christian blog in a way that was decreasingly subtle by simply posting Bible verses, but doing so out of context in such a way as to highlight verses like this one that go against worldly values. In this way, it made attacks on Christianity that seem innocuous to the Bible believer who actually recognises the goodness of those verses. Look back at their posts in the community and you might spot the pattern.
In this verse's case, the idea of putting some kind of monetary value on a human being sounds barbaric, and even then, to give males a higher price than females? Not very egalitarian, is it!
But then you read the full chapter and Leviticus 27:2 explains the valuation is being done for non-Levite people offering themselves or family members as servants to the sanctuary as part of a voluntary vow to God. The money is the payment made to release people from that service later, which is rationally quantified according to the typical physical capabilities of those ages and genders, and verse 8 even clarifies that priests are to make allowances for what people can reasonably afford here.
Initially, I made the question mark reaction when I was still unclear on what the account's intentions were with that post, but it has since become very clear that every Bible verse shared by it has been done ironically and every representation of Christian parlance has been mockery.
The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning. [Proverbs 14:6]
(Sending this to a handful of Christian blogs.) If a woman has felt repulsed by sex her whole life, and is frankly terrified of rape--if she is also rather sickly, perhaps having chronic pain or fatigue diseases, and does not feel she has the physical strength to bear children, raise them, or to do much housework--if said woman is a devout Christian, would like to be a babysitter for the children of other members of her household, and is willing to work and submit gracefully to the leadership of men--but she just cannot give herself sexually to a man, because of the physical and mental pain it would cause her, and she therefore remains unmarried and celibate--what is your opinion of her? And what do you believe should be her place in society, in a church, and in a family, especially as she ages out of childbearing years?
(Bonus, perhaps even harder question in conjunction with that last one: What if this woman has no siblings, and/or her married siblings are not willing to take her in?)
(Further question: do you believe it is possible for a non-blood-relative man to become such a close friend to this woman he could love her like a brother, as she would no doubt wish, instead of constantly desiring sex from her?)
The willpower I just had to exert to resist answering this sarcastically with the most over-the-top sexist answer I could think of...
Anyway, my opinion is irrelevant to what is right and good - meaningless next to God's opinion - so to answer pretty much all of these questions, let's turn to the Bible. That's always a good shout:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
[Philippians 4:6-7]
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
[2 Timothy 1:7]
I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one person has this gift, another has that.
I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, since it is better to marry than to burn with desire.
[1 Corinthians 7:7-9]
The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the things of the world—how she may please her husband.
[1 Corinthians 7:34]
Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.
[1 Timothy 5:1-2]
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
[1 Timothy 5:8]
If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.
[Leviticus 25:35-36]
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
[Proverbs 19:17]
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
[1 Thessalonians 4:3-5]
Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
[1 Thessalonians 4:9-12]
A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a difficult time.
[Proverbs 17:17]
No wonder you don't have any friende. You're a racist idiot cosplaying as a Christian and people can see you for who you truly are. A toxic loser. People don't dislike you because you're very stupid. They dislike you because you're an arrogant bigot that makes Christianity look like a bunch of clowns. You make the world uglier.
And this is (presumably) coming from someone who can't even see my face! You have no idea how much more uglier I'm making the world than you already think!
All kidding aside, I'm truly sorry for whatever circumstances led you to lash out in anger like this and whoever you are, I'll be praying for you! You may hate me, but I don't hate you and I hope you come to know peace!
Intersex infants are often given cosmetic mutilating surgeries that cause long term pain and without the parent’s knowledge, it’s nothing like a flu shot. Calling real human anatomy abnormal enables practices like this.
I never said intersex surgery was in any way equivalent to flu shots. I was correcting a fallacy about the consent of infants in medicine.
Whether or not intersex surgery is beneficial or destructive will vary from case to case, but that doesn't nullify its classification as a disorder. Wrong practice or treatment cases don't negate the need for right practice and treatment.
Oh so now we believe in science! The same scientific field and doctors that support mutilating intersex infants and forcing hormones on them before they can consent!
1) The sarcasm doesn't make sense, considering I never have and never will be against believing science.
2) That's a strawman. A scientific field doesn't have opinions. Which doctors specifically are we talking about? Which infants with which form of intersex? Which medical procedures are we talking about? Whether or not such practices should be supported depends on the answers to those questions.
3) Would you be against giving a baby a flu shot because they can't consent? Or medicine/treatment necessary to save the baby's life? What about feeding or cleaning a baby that doesn't want to be fed or cleaned? Lots of things are forced on infants without their consent. Sometimes, especially when it comes to medical treatment, and I'll stress that I said 'sometimes', consent is overridden by need and/or responsibility.

wow...you're an asshole. If you are an example of the fruits Christianity produces, fuck Christianity. You're an ignorant, disgusting human being and you make Christians look like prideful idiots. 🤡No wonder you keep getting banned and ridiculed.
You're trying to get under my skin, but all I'm wondering is which post or community you know me from. I'm flattered you've kept up with me either way and I'll pray you come to know Christ.
Rest assured, I'm not coming from a place of pride in what I post, I know how pitiful my moral standing is as an individual far better than you ever will. Every good thing I have to say comes from God and all I seek in my posting is to represent the immutable and unavoidable truth of that God.
Hate me if you want, and perhaps it might even be my personality flaws to blame. But if you hate me because of Jesus, He assures me that you hated Him first [John 15:18] and I will assure you that Jesus loved you before you ever even felt love [1 John 4:19].

what good do you get out of harassing trans and queer christians? the bible doesnt say anything inherently bad about transgender people. your arguments of “God made man and woman only” are not scientific just based on the fact that intersex individuals exist.
- a transgender Christian
I'm not harassing anyone. Harassment is a pattern of behaviour; a relentless pursuit of someone who doesn't want to engage with me. People make public posts and I reply to them. People reply to me and I reply to them. Just because you don't like my replies doesn't make it harassment.
Christians by definition identify in Christ, which means following His law, which means acknowledging His worldview because He is the arbiter of truth in the world. Compromising on what Christ says is right or wrong by identifying in what He defines as sin is a rejection of that Christian identity. As such, there's no such thing as a queer or transgender Christian. That's equivalent to defining yourself as a meat-eating vegan.
The Bible condemns same-sex relations [Lev. 18:22], cross-dressing [Deut. 22:5], effeminate men [1 Cor. 6:9] and that which is "contrary to nature" [Romans 1:26] which as far as gender is concerned is only ever defined as male and female [Gen. 1:27]. I don't know who told you the Bible doesn't say anything inherently against transgender ideology, but that's not true. It's a rejection of God's design, which is sin.
God designed men and women to have four working limbs, two working ears, two working eyes, etc., but not every child is born that way. This world is full of defects and health anomolies that we know aren't the standard for a healthy human being. We live in a broken world with the effects of sin carrying on until Jesus returns [Romans 8:22].
Intersex is a physical medical anomaly that is a blatant deviation from the intended biological outcome of human form. It has nothing to do with gender identity, so that isn't a logical argument, but it also doesn't contradict God's design because we know scientifically that this isn't a third category of sex but a malfunction of the human body that results in the literal classification of a disorder that affects up to 2% of the human race, if you're being generous.
Truth is good. I'm tasked with speaking truth in love as a Christian. [Ephesians 4:15] Love can be tough; it's not always affirming, but it should always be honest [Proverbs 27:5-6]. I don't make the rules of biology or gender identity and whether or not those identities are good. God does. I point you to Him because He's the source of all truth and love, so directing you to Him is always good, for you most of all. God can do more for you than I ever can. I pray that you come to know Him by reading His word and recognising His decrees, even if and especially when they're hard to accept. I'm not the one you have an issue with; God is.
If you ever want to really talk about it, I'm here for you. I want you to know Jesus and the eternal life that He made us for. You'll be in my prayers either way.
