Hi there! I'm an artist who sells my work on Etsy and I thought up a pretty cool idea. As most of my work is ocean-themed and I'm a huge enthusiast of ocean efforts, I want to start donating a percentage of my sales to some conservation organizations. I really just wanted to ask if you have any favorites, as I would like an idea of what an ocean conservation blog such as yourself would have to say.

Hi there! 

There are so many organizations but a few of my personal favorites are Shark Angels, Surfrider, SaveJapanDolphins, Sea Shepherd, and Earthrace Conservation, and SharkSavers. I would definitely recommend to take a look at the organizations to see if they fit some of your ideals and such. I really connect to organizations who are about reaching out an providing awareness and education to the public, as well as being really passionate about what they are doing for our oceans.  There is a list of more organizations on my blog. Hope this helps!

Also, I've also been looking for more ocean-themed shops on Etsy and I would love to check yours out!

We are all mourning the loss of Vicky, but other captive orcas still need our help. You can comment your support in listing Lolita as an endangered Southern Resident orca on this petition from NMFS. 

There are currently only 249 comments, and the comment period ends on the 28th. Please help Lolita and tell NMFS why you support listing her as endangered!

Are any of you looking for work experience and skill development for marine conservation? 

If you’ve done a science degree but haven’t got much work experience, or if you’ve done lots of work experience, but didn’t do a marine science degree, but still want to get into conservation - Zoox might be perfect for you.

Doing the Zoox Experience Programme will give you intensive and unique training on the basics of marine conservation, then you embark on a six-week work experience helping to coordinate a real conservation project on the ground, and carrying out personal conservation projects aimed to develop the skills that you need to fill in on your CV!
