Asat is the nihilism (not the Nihility) to Aha’s existentialism and in this video i will prove-
Hearing his laugh slip into something more natural-sounding as he’s fighting makes me think that the raspy edgelord tone he uses is a mask. Cultivated restraint for the sake of Destruction.
The delivery of his one-liners both in that scene and the Amphoreus trailer too, there’s something about the way he speaks that just isn’t funny, and isn’t trying to be. (it pissed me off how often he was playing contrarian to Phantylia’s lines but in hindsight maybe that was the point.)
It feels like he’s kicking someone when they’re already down, or performing for an audience that can’t/won’t laugh.
As for his powers (which I’m guessing have to do with odds/chance manipulation), they also strip away the excitement of living, the feeling of triumph when that 0.1% chance of beating him becomes reality.
Both for himself and his opponent, because where’s the joy in losing a rigged game?
To deny oneself joy is the death of Elation, but even the Lord Ravager can’t completely snuff it out in himself.
++edit: His efforts are probably futile as (if i’m understanding the aeons’ concepts right) the real antithesis to desire (hedonism/existentialism) can never be someone with the desire to burn (((“self-“ optional)) destruction) but the complete absence of desire (nihility). Unless he’s just planning to wipe out the universe so no one enjoys anything ever then like. ok cool dude.
Reaching even further: maybe Nanook themself isn’t immune (why Aha is able to land that permanent blow)
