Hi yes endos made us think we were a quoigenic or whatever because we didn't think our trauma was valid!! Endos prevented us from a diagnosis for like 4 years so I agree endos are nasty

we were so fucked for literally so many years bc a past ab/ser of ours was endo and literally forced dissociative barriers down by "making" us a system. it was so fucking bad. we also were pushed FURTHER into denial abt the fact we had immense amounts of trauma. it didnt help that the person in question added onto the trauma either. anyway yeah fuck endos

The increase in awareness and media representation of dissociative disorders has been slowly climbing since the 2000s. It being talked about being less stigmatized than before is gonna lead to more people realizing, hey that’s me! Similar to the autism “surge” in the mid 90s to early 2000s, this was just due to there being more attention brought to it and the diagnostic model changing; as opposed to it being a new flourish in the autistic populace. The prevalence of DID is estimated to affect between 1-3% of the population. Which, spoiler: is a lot! and that’s just for DID, not the other forms of dissociative disorders. -???

even if you're a system, if you have ever called alters personalities or called DID/OSDD multiple personality disorder (even if you're "dumbing it down for singlets") i don't fucking trust you

also the "core" doesn't exist and it perpetuates the false belief that we are all just extensions of the host. we are all separate and aren't {names}'s alters. i sometimes use possessive language on impulse but i actually know that its not "my system" or "my alters." we are all alters. there are no originals.

we're different people, not "{name}'s alternate personalities." im genuinely sick of this shit even from other systems. some people are hurting the community without realizing it and it breaks my heart.
