What is a road opener spell?
Something that really confused me as a beginner witch was 'road opener' spells. I heard people talk about these spells all the time but I had a hard time actually understanding what it meant until I did one myself. Because of that I decided to put together a little guide for all things 'road opener'. I hope this helps!
What does 'road opener' even mean?
Road opener is a type of spell to open the person up to new opportunities and to remove any blocks stopping them from obtaining those opportunities. These spells are great if you're feeling stuck. You don't have to have an opportunity in mind, you might just feel like everything is stagnant and you want things to start moving again.
What goes into a road opener spell?
Generally, these spells have 2 parts/aspects to them; removing barriers and negative energy and bringing in prosperity and new opportunities. You can do these together or seperate them into a 2 part spell, it all depend what you feel like. road opener is like a fancy name for a banishing spell mixed with a prosperity spell.
An example of a road opener spell:
Candle Spell:
A white, green or black candle (green for prosperity and growth, white as a replacement or to symbolise a fresh start or black to remove any negative energy or blocks) Black salt (to remove any negative energies or obstacles from your path) A bay leaf (for prosperity and wealth. write your intention on the leaf) A sigil with your intention cinnamon (represents wealth) cloves (protection and wealth) basil (protection and wealth) an anointing oil (note: optional) something to carve into the candle with (a sharp pencil, scissors, a paper clip, etc) a heat proof dish and candle holder Method: 1. Cleanse yourself, your work space and tools
2. Create your sigil. I like to use the intention 'All obstacles are removed from my path' or ' nothing stands in the way of my success' but it's completely up to you
3. Carve your sigil into your candle.
4. Write your intention on the bay leaf then place the candle on top of the leaf
5. Mix the remaining herbs together (except the black salt) and sprinkle them in a ring around your candle. If you wish to anoint your candle and roll it in herbs instead, this is the time to do so.
6. Place the black salt in a circle around the herbs and candle. This is to represent the banishment of any negative outside energies or to just get rid of anything that doesn't serve you anymore. You don't have to put it in a circle, it just works for me.
7. Watch the candle burn and focus your intention.
Notes: there are 1000s of ways to do this spell with all the ingredients I listed. If this spell doesn't feel right to you, don't do it or change it. It is only an example.
Get to Know Your Deck Spread
Here’s a lovely spread for all of you out there who are new to tarot, recently received a new deck, struggle with bonding with your deck(s) and/or are having issues getting clear or understanding readings. Sometimes decks have personalities to them, they have their own likes, dislikes, alignments and even preferred ‘work’ to go into. They also often require bonding to get the most accurate smooth readings. I have explained before the differences in my decks and what they like to answer, and I know of others who struggle bonding or understanding who their decks are. This spread should be of help!
1. How is your deck feeling today? Are they in a good mood ready to work? Or are they just having an off bad day? I have found decks, like people, can have moody bad days. These days their readings may be harsher than usual or even not even slightly logical. Its good to see what mood your deck is in before using it for readings, especially readings for others (and especially if they are paying for them). This may also affect the questions they will wish to answer.
2. What element does your deck align with? All decks are different and some may align themselves with specific elements. Is your deck fire, water, earth, air, spirit or a combination of them? This may affect the manner which they read. Air decks may be more interested in giving creative advice and focus on individuality, free-spirited natures, the arts, and even love. Water decks tend to focus on emotions and seeking gentle fixes. Fire decks tend to be the most assertive, they are competitive, encouraging, brave, passionate but also tend to support the idea of feuds. Fire decks, also from my experience, tend to be very blunt about things. Earth aligned decks tend to be a bit calmer, they focus on bonds with people such as family and friendships. They also focus on careers, prosperity and money matters. Spirit decks, tend to like to do more of the ‘divine’. They focus on self-enlightenment, self discovery and communicating with supernatural forces, guides, and deities.
3. What Questions does your deck enjoy answering? Does your deck enjoy answering questions about love? Friends and family? Do they enjoy giving personal advice? Do they like money matters and career focuses. This could determine what questions they may be the most accurate and ones they will give the best advice on.
4. What Questions does your deck least like to answer? These are the questions they may not have the most accurate advice on. Such as my Rider deck greatly dislikes romance questions so I never use him for them because he will always just advice break-ups no matter the situation.
5. What is your deck’s current feelings towards you? Does your deck feel close to you? Is it a strong professional business bond? Or is it more like a friendship? Do they feel distant from you? Like you ignore them? Do they not understand you or feel like you are a stranger? Do you intimidate them?
6. How can you improve your relationship? How does your deck feel like you two can do to help build your relationship? Practice more or perhaps make spreads.
7. A Negative trait. Pretty self explanatory, this is a negative quality about your deck that it feels you have a right to know about. Take note that this is a negative trait in the mind and views of your deck, its something it feels is negative.
8. A Positive trait. Again, pretty self explanatory, this is a trait that your deck feels is a positive trait it has. Again, this is a trait seen as positive in its mind.
WHEN YOU SLEEP.... Did you know that when you sleep you place your hands on the parts of the body that require healing?
1. Above your head: you seek greater spiritual connection.
2. In the chest: you have feelings that you still need to heal.
3. Stomach: anger & furious feelings.
4. Between the legs: fear, feelings of emptiness.
5. Sex organs or near them: sexual problems and lack of expression.
6. Under your pillow: hidden emotions, not showing what we really feel or our true intentions.
7. Hugging yourself: lack of affection or support from your loved ones.
8. Shoulders: exhaustion, lack of
energy.
9. The hands between the head and the pillow: there is tranquility within you.
If you don’t place your hands on your body while sleeping it means you are fine and in peace with yourself.
If you hug your partner, It means nothing but the love you have for them

Traditional Spells That Use Honey
1) Spell to Ensure Peace Between You and Another
There are times when you simply need to get along with someone you despise, or someone who despises you. Perhaps because you could lose your job or fail a class if you do not. However, if your personalities are naturally clashing, achieving harmony is easier said than done.
So take a photograph of the two of you together, with no one else in the background. If that is not possible, find a piece of paper that contains both your handwriting and theirs — and no one else’s. Then place it inside a mason jar filled with honey.
Right before you close the lid, command the honey to sweeten your connection by whispering: Edrasum embagne egubaria.
Finally, place the jar in the freezer.
Once the honey has hardened, your relationship will have softened.
2) Spell to Discover if Someone is Being Dishonest
Acquire a small amount of raw, unfiltered honey. Around 30 ml will do. Make sure it is tightly sealed in a jar or in another container. Preferably made of glass.
Go to your sacred space, or any private place where you will be undisturbed. Dim the lights and have a gray or black candle in front of you. Take deep breaths to prepare yourself for the truth.
Then say: I call upon Pytho, Belial and Xezbeth, Princes of the Spirits of Deceit. I offer you this earthly treat if you reveal to me what I need.
Proceed by explaining your situation. “A former flame wants back in my life. Does she really love me like she says, or is that another lie?”
When the candlelight starts moving frantically, it means your answer is ready. Open the jar and inhale the scent. If the honey smells sweet, the person is sincere. If it smells rotten, the person is lying.
3) Spell to Dull the Pain of a Broken Heart
Bake yourself some sweets. Cookies. Cupcakes. Brownies. Whatever your heart desires.
Mix at least a spoonful of honey in the batter. But more is better. As you do this, say out loud: Irion khirion eser khuder.
Make sure you memorize the words. Just reading them will not work.
Then finish baking, and eat your treat. By the time you have digested your sweets, your heart’s pain will have begun to heal.
But this spell only works if the other person is the reason you are hurting. That is, if you are not the one who ruined the relationship. Because the above words are meant to bond with honey, and suck away a monster’s rabies.
Hades: *carrying a stack of supplies with both hands*
Persephone: *reaches out to help him*
Hades: *moves the supplies to one arm to hold Persephone's hand*
Persephone: That's not what I- okay.
For the Malicious and Gossiping Tongues
Fashion a poppet made from cloth. Fill it with Slippery Elm, bark and leaves. You may use Cloves too. Using black ink, write the name of the person. To strengthen it, you may include an object that represents the person inside the cloth doll. Before a lighted candle, begin your spell. Using a black thread and needle, sew XXX on the lips of the poppet as you chant:
“With thread and needle, your lips I sew. And silence your tongue that speaks of ill. No gossip from your lips shall flow. No malice from your mouth shall spill.”
Wrap the doll in black cloth and bury it far from your home.

10 Easy Protective Habits
Carry Rosemary and salt in your pocket, purse, or keep in a satchel.
A lit white candle in a circle of salt will protect a room.
A lit black candle repels and banishes unwanted energy quite well.
Hang Garlic in your kitchen to ward away mischief and evil.
Add Pine essential oil to cleaners for an added cleansing boost when washing tile/hardwood floors.
Grow Rosemary, Lilac, Lavender or Rose at your doorways to protect them.
Use knot magick when tying shoe laces, bows, headbands, etc for added protection.
Draw protective sigils or wards onto your skin with make up or lotion/moisturizer before blending.
Hang protective charms off your pet’s collar.
Sprinkle a combination of Salt, Lavender, Rosemary and/or Rose onto a hard surface and sweep/vacuum the next morning for a cleansing sweep.
This was useful to me.
✨🕯️ “fresh start” spell 🕯️✨
This spell is for major life transitions. It could be a move to a new home, a new school, or the start of a big project. Or it could be a more personal transition, like ending a bad habit or changing your worldview. Either way, this spell is all about letting go of the things that are dragging you down and moving forward with a light heart.
Note: I am not a Wiccan, so my spells do not include a lot of Wiccan ritual steps like casting a circle, calling on the God and Goddess, etc. This is just my preference, and if you want to add those or any other steps that aren’t included here, please feel free! Your craft is your craft, so personalize it as you see fit!!
What You Will Need:
something to cleanse yourself and your ritual space (good ol’ white sage does just fine)
small white candle (symbolizes new beginnings, attracts positive energy)
small green candle (promotes healing and growth, attracts material prosperity)
small pink candle (promotes love, especially self-love)
powdered allspice (attracts luck and material/spiritual abundance)
Optional Components
cinnamon (powdered or in the form of a cinnamon stick) (attracts abundance of all kinds, boosts the energy of spells)
an amazonite stone (promotes self-empowerment)
a citrine stone (attracts abundance and prosperity, aids in manifestation and in accomplishing goals)
Casting the Spell
Do what you need to do to get in the mood. Maybe meditate for a few minutes, put on some instrumental music, burn your favorite incense, etc. Take a moment to ground and center yourself.
Begin by cleansing your workspace with your favorite purifying incense (some of my favs are sage, frankincense, and cedarwood!!). Make sure to cleanse yourself as part of this process – the focus of this spell is letting go of the things that hold us back and embracing the future, so you don’t want to bring any negativity into the working with you.
Rub some of the allspice into each of your candles (if you’re using powdered cinnamon, rub some of that in, too) and then arrange them in a triangle pattern with the white candle front and center. The white candle should be the one closest to you, with the green and pink candle behind and slightly to either side of it. (If you’re using the amazonite and/or citrine stones, set them in the center of the candles.)
Light each of your candles in turn, starting with the white candle. As you light each one, focus on the changes that you are planning to make in your near future.
(If you’re using a cinnamon stick, hold it over one of the candle’s flames until it begins to smoke – being careful not to burn yourself, of course. Waft this smoke around your ritual space, and breathe deeply as the scent of cinnamon fills the room.)
Focus on the flames of the candles, the light, the warmth. As you stare into the fire, turn your mind to your goals for this next phase of your life. Where do you hope this next step will take you? What are you hoping to bring into your life, and what are you hoping to let go of? Keep this goal in your mind’s eye and focus your energy on it. Allow the energy of the spell to build, slowly but steadily, like a fire coming to life from kindling.
Once you feel ready, recite the following incantation: “I am embarking on the next phase of my journey. I am leaving behind all unnecessary burdens. I am stepping into a brighter future. The light embraces me, and the dark fades away.” (This one is kinda long, so feel free to write it down and read it aloud if you need to!)
Repeat the incantation as many times as you feel you need to. (I like to work with the number nine in my magic, so I recited it in three sets of three, pausing between each set to refocus my energy.)
Once you finish your last incantation, don’t feel like you have to end the spell immediately. Sit with the energy you’ve created for a while. Let it continue to build.
When you feel ready, end the spell by blowing out the candles. Ground yourself before you begin cleaning up. You can smudge again if you want to, but I personally don’t smudge after positive spells like this one.
And of course, the most important part is to go out there and follow through! Once you’ve decided to make a change and have started to manifest your desired outcome, you have to commit to seeing it through. Believe in yourself, believe in your magic, and embrace this new chapter in your life.
Everybody has ancestors. EVERYBODY. Ancestral worship is for everyone no matter the religion or spiritual path. Those within the African diaspora are dealing with the generational trauma due to oppression and the symptoms of oppression. Those of European descent also have the generational trauma of being lied to, and a loss of cultural identity in order to blindly support a system that continues to oppress others. Healing said generational trauma will involve an alchemical process of healing the guilt, shame and embarrassment from what the ancestors have done so an ally can be born and that history does not repeat.
This one Caucasian girl told me that she began to work with her ancestors and she said that she could tell that some were still deeply racist in the spirit world, and others had learned to do better. She asked me, what can be done when she’s just trying to honor her “good” ancestors and be better. There’s certain rituals that one can do to block yourself from ancestors that don’t wish you well or that you don’t find useful. They don’t have to be elaborate. The key is that you have that right, and you have that power to define who has access to you.

Why are ‘witch tips’ always like “use quartz as a substitute for any crystal!” and not the good stuff like “River spirits are almost always looking to fuck shit up, so if you rile em up and then feed them a name, they’ll lay someone tf out.”
Excellent ! My turn. I onced tricked a spirit into believing the red wine and dragon’s blood powder mixture I served it was the blood offering it was due. No idea how it bought that, no idea if it would work again, but when you have certain geasa, you make do. To whomever it may concern…
Witch Tip: Venusian plant spirits love flattery, love to have their praises sung. I also find they’re more active during midday in full sun. Saturnian herbs can be slow to open up, but are excellent teachers once they do.
Witch Tip: When visiting a graveyard, especially for magic purposes, leave a penny at the gate as offering to its guardians. I’ve seen them fight off spirits that would have hurt me otherwise.
Witch Tip: numerology is helpful but trust me, repeating that prayer or incarnation until you can barely speak and the words hang heavy from your tongue, rather than adhering to a set number of repetitions, will 1000% get you in an altered state of consciousness which will allow you to commune with the spirits at work much more easily. This is when you raise power and gain the ability to affect the weave.
Witch Tip: When practicing skyclad, make sure the blinds are drawn. Otherwise you might an uncomfortable call from the neighbors, and that will ruin your experiment!
Witch tip: don’t pour water on a burning candle. Candles are essentially burning oil and water will cause a dangerous flare up.
@teawitch I can’t blow out candles my asthma is terrible alternatives?
@justasimplecryptid get a candle snuffer. Or place a lid of some sort over a jar candle to snuff it out.
So a quick story. I was doing shadow work and part of it involved burning several sheets of paper. This is Florida with high humidity on a drizzly night, so I stuck a small tealight at the bottom of the cauldron to help burn things. That worked but when I was done, the tealight was covered with paper ash and I sort of forgot it was down there (it had been an intense ritual) so I poured water in the cauldron. The water hit the tealight and flames shot out of the cauldron. Fortunately I was in a clear space and on concrete so nothing caught fire but I learned why water and paraffin candles don’t mix.
