Tommy moves carefully across the platforms, a bit better at it now, just that bit more graceful. Well, 'graceful' in the way of not falling off every platform. In a way, it feels a lot like what he used to do at home-- the free running kind of shit. The jumping across buildings and running up walls. He got hurt a lot, sure, but you've sort of got to adapt when speed is the only thing on your side against guys way bigger than you. Being able to scale a fence in a second is pretty much the difference between getting home in time for dinner and getting home an hour late with several cracked ribs.

Anyway, after having practiced jumping these precarious-ass floating platforms for this long, he's able to make it across with minimal injury. This is particularly Good News considering how much running around he's been doing lately. Well--all the time. This time, he's going to have a nice, civil conversation. That in itself is a bit of a refreshing little miracle, considering most of his missions involve trying to protect somebody from something, most of which attempts blow up in his face. So this? This is nice.

Tommy leaps from a shadow platform, feeling it disintegrate beneath his shoes. Still, he makes it across just in time, where he stops, winded, and watches his breaths huff out in cool vapour. And then he casts a look across the sprawling crystal landscape, searching for a figure he knows to be waiting here. If he could just see better through this fucking fog.

Yeah, Spirit world remains his least favourite, though the other two are loathed almost equally.

Norton’s hands were in fists faster than he knew he could even make them, snarl returning but fading just as fast. He sighed heavily, pulling off his hat and fussing with it.

“I’m sorry for that one, all right? They didn’t tell me it was … where it was. I just wanted to get you away from me, and they told me that was a way to do it fast. I gathered that was a fucking terrible idea after hearing you scream for a goddamn day before I pulled your sorry ass out of there so-“

He put his hand, and also his hat, to his mouth. He quickly turned his back to Tommy, shoving his hat back on his head and crossing his arms Out of all the dumb things to admit was because of him, he had to go and blab that. He didn’t mind being hated. Hating things was easy, and if he made things easier on others then that suited him just fine.

He started grinding his teeth as he thought about Ash. He didn’t even know what to do for his brother anymore other than be with him. If what Tommy was saying was true, then it was probably already too late to make up. As he thought on, however, he stopped grinding his teeth. He slowly lifted his hand, finger wagging slightly as he thought. “Hey. Wait a minute. If i could do that. Then maybe I could….”

He turned back to Tommy, eyes wide as if excited, a very slight smile on his face for once. “Hey, can I try something on you? You still have them in your head, right? I promise it’ nothing bad, I just want to see if I can’t deliver a big ‘fuck you’ to them.”

He bites his bottom lip, grimacing. "'They'? So are they people or monsters or what because I donno I guess they kinda looked like monsters to me." He glances at his shoes, recollection of the void causing his stomach to turn. He's a little surprised that Norton doesn't snap back at him. He lets his eyes move back up to the other's face, searching it for something. How sorry is he that he'd thrown his brother into the void and caused him to be perma-fucked up? How sorry is he that the void is open for everyone to fall into in the first place?

For a moment he feels a bit sorry. For Norton, of all people. Ash is still his brother, and it's clear by the way the other's expression seems to conflict that yeah, he's real sorry about that. Still, being sorry doesn't really change much.

Something seems to change on Norton's face and Tommy opens his mouth to protest, but Norton speaks first.

Tommy's face immediately creases into a frown of trepidation and he pointedly shuffles back a few steps with his hands raised in a surrendering fashion. "Dude quit grinning like that it's freaking me out." He stares at the other for a long time after that, as if contemplating. He's not entirely sure he can trust this guy-- hell, he's pretty sure he can't trust this guy, but there's something sort of genuine in Norton's expression that makes him simultaneously wary and mollified. He fixes Norton with a serious look. "You better not screw me up again, okay?" That's about all the permission he's going to give, but he lowers his hands and tentatively steps over to Norton. "Okay. Do it."
