the nickname is enough to make ezreal's lips quirk higher , a huff of air that hides the start of a chuckle . he was anything but a playboy , little jests nobody else would dare to say to the half-man half-beast slipping easy past the former explorers lips . and how could he not when golden eyes were so easy to drown in , voice oddly soothing and warm arms enough to chase away nightmares .

❝ it's quite an important message . . . ❞ voice softens , hues colored lavender by the void watching as sett kneels and lessens the difference in height by doing so . reminiscent of a beast he has tamed , vicious pit fighter soothed in the confines of privacy .

hands reach out , lilac claws that had torn through many creatures of the void carefully placed on vastayans' cheek until ezreal holds the man's face in his hands. thumb brushing against warm skin , enough to make him forget about the horrors of his past . of the terrors that lurk in the depth of his mind . this , this is different - this warm giddy feeling and the faint smell of the vastayan man . he doesn't want to think too much about it , the lurking dark . not when sett is right here and real .

ezreal gets increasingly aware of just how far he has stepped into the lions' den once setts attention shifts entirely to him. with generals busy finishing up their order of discarding small fry and the only noise being people outside these doors and most likely betting on the next match the former explorer gets aware of just how much of a private audience he has gotten himself into.

neck cranes at the approach of what feels like an animal ready to strike, fangs glinting and there is a feeling running down his spine he'd rather not name , the hint of danger - of adrenaline that has forced his ways many times before , unable to keep away from a taste of it .

❝ the boss , but I see he's not here right now . ❞ , violet eyes sweep towards empty seat with amused tone - and in swift movement ezreal has seated himself on a throne far too big for him or his ego .

sett towers over him like this , barely able to reach his shoulders standing beside him his neck is now fully craned back to keep up looking at the vastayan - to watch the others' expression shift at his boldness , hopefully.

lips curled into a telltale soft smirk , a weak attempt at hiding his amusement at the vastayan words - enough to make most in the arena dread what would come next . yet here the former piltovian was , cocky voice and behavior that might be either brave or foolish , the latter more likely . sett's threat goes unbothered , fangs showing for mere second in grin before expression mellows into a more mild smirk .

scene in front bothers the void touched little , dismissive look given towards a man even more unwise than him . ezreal was a man to test the water , to see how deep he could reach before danger swallowed him up . this poor idiot had taken a leap far more daring .

❝ me ? ❞ , mock surprise tinged his words as if he hadn't barged into an audience with the boss himself . surely his rude entrance's would come to bite him in the ass one day .

soft hum overcomes his lips , claw stroking over arm rest of chair that befits title of throne more than anything else . ❝ was just visiting. ❞

warm soft glow that illuminates the edges of faces worn out from journey , sparks that echoed starlight shining above in the unclouded night of the great sai. there is a crackle when clawed hand pushes stick into it , lighting it up further. a small beacon of warmth in the vastness of nothingness , dunes of sand stretching long miles. it's peaceful , for now - ezreal knows not to take it in granted.
