How on earth could this woman could be so calm about seeing someone impact a solid surface like that? In all honestly, he was surprised nary a single trainer had once attempted to intervene - it had been obvious that the cannon-riding trip he had embarked on was nothing short of downright painful. And this was completely omitting the fact he had somehow avoided breaking anything during the endeavor.
The compliment seemed rather rudimentary in the light of his current condition. After that experience, Hilbert felt he deserved a medal for toughing it out as he had. Then again, Skyla - that was her name, right? She probably saw the cannons are merely phase one of the challenge. At least, in her Gym. Complaining probably wouldn’t do him much good at this point, even if he still wanted to embark on a tirade regarding her method of choice.
“Hilbert,” he responded curtly, hands rummaging through his satchel in search of a certain PokeBall. The trainer kept his tone nice and level, even if his frustration was still in turmoil within. No sense in being abrasive, after all. Eventually, he found the red and white sphere he was seeking and gave it a toss. From the red beam emerged a Boldore, its hollow eyes fixed solidly on its winged opponent.
“Naomi, Smack Down!”
It would be wise to not try to have an arguement before actually battling the gym leader. If anything it probably would be more effective to fight her if he wants to show his displeasure. Still it wasn’t like she would be going down without a fight as her swoobat was ready for battle. Though the move the other used had definitely been a surprise, a loud cry escaped the flying pokemon as Boldore struck it down to the floor. Effectively making it lose it’s flying type for one turn.
Well well well it seems like this guy might actually be a bit of a challenge, even if grounded for a bit she knew her pokemon had more fight. “Well seems you’re ready as you’ll ever be, Swoobat Heart Stamp!” She called out, throwing her hands forward as the pokemon lunged forward and attacked the enemy. Seeing as it was already on the ground the chances of any kind of miss was low but what she really wanted was for the Boldore to flinch.
“I always did like my guys with a little fire to them.” Skyla stated, feeling her blood pumping as the battle went under way.
