"W-what? I’m obviously a boy! I find that really offended you would even say that." Ruby turned and flailed his finger at her, mini scolding. Honestly, just because he was flamboyant and adorable meant absolutely nothing. He was just incredibly open with a…
"Sewing is for seamstresses and older people. You laugh at them for doing whatever they did to tear it," She shrugged, that’s what she did whenever something like that happened even if it was her. A tear of clothing was better than if it were skin, though she could sew things like that up well enough. "If there are they don’t come whining to me, they know without it being said that I don’t give a shit and will most like pick on them for it. Hate to break it to you, but ya really do." It was almost sad how much his whining reminded her of a few girls back when she was younger. Bunch of brats.
"If she finds it fun, who’s to say she’s wrong? ‘Different strokes for different folks’ as they say." The saying made her smile, it never sounded wholly innocent at all. She nodded, accepting what he said, Courtney could have argued but it was true and she could at least admit he was right once in her lifetime. "Okay, I won’t."
"That’s a lie. You just come with me right this instant and I’ll show you what cute things I can make you. You MIGHT even win a contest with your Pokemon." Ruby scoffed and decided to stop there to whip out the long measuring tape he had on his person at all times, starting to measure her and taking some mental notes before tucking it away. "You’ll see how much you’ll be thanking this whiny girl."
"I guess so. I don’t know, she should be a little bit more lady like. She’s like another guy, I suppose. She’s gone the length to call me ‘sissy girlfriend’ before." he just smiled at her in return and tugged her hand along. "Lose the hood, we’re going to the store and we’re picking out some fabrics you’d like. Then we’re going to go cut patterns and get to sewing."
"Right, I'll come with you long as you know where the hell you're going from here." Snorting she muttered, "I can win contests without your help.." She stayed still as he took measurements, knowing it was a pain if she moved. "Doubt it. Don't know if you've noticed but I don't really thank people who ruin my career." Even if she was a little happier for it.
Courtney shook her head. "So what? Saying she could be a bit more like a lady is like saying you could do to be a bit manlier. But you seem to do just fine as you are...that term fits you." She pulled the hood up and over her head, folding it and just held onto it, not sure what to do with it. Looking around she found a rock closer to the entrance and set the hood on it. "Fabric stores..." Oh the joy...

"Sewing is for seamstresses and older people. You laugh at them for doing whatever they did to tear it," She shrugged, that's what she did whenever something like that happened even if it was her. A tear of clothing was better than if it were skin, though she could sew things like that up well enough. "If there are they don't come whining to me, they know without it being said that I don't give a shit and will most like pick on them for it. Hate to break it to you, but ya really do." She nodded, accepting what he said, Courtney could have argued but it was true and she could at least admit he was right once in her lifetime. "Okay, I won't."
May held up her arm, shielding herself from the heat of the sun. It was violently hot out in Dewford Town, especially in this time of year. She enjoyed the summer to an extent, this heat not being a part of it. This little town was difficult to reach but she was able to get there thanks to Mr. Briney. She wished she could buy him something here, but she remembered that there is no Pokémart. Darn! She looked around, wondering what else she could do in return…
Courtney sighed happily when her Swellow dropped her on the dock her destination. It was blissfullu hot today and it felt like heaven to her. She was out here to meet someone she knew before her days in magma, a little surprise visit for an old friend. The female felt bad, asking for something to be made and then never coming to pay and retrieve it. Hopefully he still had it and he'd take his payment with a little interest. She was long over due for a new hat.
The ex-Fire waltzed into town, thanking whatever god had to exist that not many knew her here, it meant no one would harass her for what she'd done. Of course there was always one exception, and said exception was standing not to far away. She could be wrong, Ruby had gotten a little better after she told him she didn't plan on going back to Magma. Courtney doubted that. Maybe she'd be lucky enough not to be recognized without the Magma hood. With that making her just a little hopeful she continued walking, straight past the girl with just the shortest glance in her direction.
"W-what? I’m obviously a boy! I find that really offended you would even say that." Ruby turned and flailed his finger at her, mini scolding. Honestly, just because he was flamboyant and adorable meant absolutely nothing. He was just incredibly open with a lot of things!
"Aw, come on. I’ve taken a wild girl’s measurements before and she literally jumps off of trees and runs around barefoot. You, though, you know how to stay still and I can make you one of the cutest outfits you’ve ever owned." his eyes practically gleamed.
Courtney couldn't help the rude snort when he claimed to be offended, "You sew, you don't like the heat because it makes you sweat...kid, I'm more male than you are so don't even. You even bitch like a little girl." That last bit was a little mean, but in her defense he could learn to grow a pair and deal with it. She sped up a little as light from outside filtered into the tunnel from not too far ahead.
"Sounds like she knew how to have fun." The female stopped once they were outside and look down at him, "Do I look like I'd do cute?" She wanted to, not that she'd ever tell him that, but she doubted she could pull it off all that well. Too much time was spent hanging around men for her to be able to do anything close to cute.
"Heat and living in a volcano are two incredibly different things, lady. I can adjust just fine to the heat. By sitting inside and cranking the AC unit down and working on sewing." he sassed back.
"Well, do the recognize your face? Or are you stupid enough to actually go out in public wearing the hideous Team Magma outfit? Honestly, girl, I should make you something so you can do whatever you want. Maybe even trim your hair a little." he followed after her, almost like a little Poochyena.
"Except they're not, they're almost exactly the same. Unless you're stupid enough to wander too close to one of the open pits, but we put those behind doors with signs." She shook her head, "That's not adjusting, that's ignoring, and sewing, seriously? Can you be anymore of a girl?"
Courtney let out a short laugh, she'd done exactly that the first few times she'd gone out, so used to the outfit that it was just a second skin for her. "A bit of both? Mostly now it's just recognition, but they just seem....sour now that I've stopped wearing my uniform outside the base." Wearing it inside the base, helped a little to deal with the heat. "I don't think I trust you around me with sharp, pointy objects, kid."
“So yo gonna explain what the hell you were doin sneakin around where you don’t need to be?” It was hard for her to keep her tone like she was talking to an equal, she’d count this as practice later for getting back into the swing of things. It was hard...
The ex-Fire watched and shook her head. "How do you live in Hoenn and still manage to not adjust to the heat. It's everywhere."
"This was my home, kind of still is seein as a lot of places don't like dealin with criminals. So for me, it's homey." She led him back the way they'd come and then continued on to where she'd come from. "You could've just counted it as a small miracle and left it alone, you know."

Ah, bonsoir.
[He could just walk away. She popped a bubble, the rain is a right pain if you ask her.]
I do have an umbrella, it's one of those nifty clear bubble ones. Melting in the rain? What do you think I am, a witch? No, my mightyena is afraid of the rain and he was the reason I was going out at all actually.

I've set microwaves on fire, most topics are dull, in the past three days I've slept for nearly two of them, the only show I ever bothered watching ended, and I really don't have friends. Which explains me talking to someone I don't know.
It's a gift of mine. [Grins up at him and decides this is the best time to start chewing the gum she'd shoved in her mouth before she started talking to him.]

"You explain on the way and maybe I won't get you lost." Courtney grinned at the almost-threat. "Ugh, we just sat down, too." She could whine just like him and if he didn't stop soon he'd have to deal woth her complaining about him. He was a guy for groundon's sake, why couldn't he suck it up and deal with it?
Looking around she nodded, not three doors down was one such pit. "Adds a homey feel to it." She narrowed her eyes at him, "Watch it kid, he may not be my boss but I still respect him." She pushed her seat back and stood, stretching.
red-red-ruby:
Courtney’s personality change (or what lacked in it) kept Ruby at ease the entire time. If it was a full base and there were grunts, other admins and hell, even Maxie, it would of been a lot different. Stripping off the Magma coat, he was sitting in a black tank top.
"It’s harder than any contest I’ve been in, that’s for sure." he groaned and plopped face down against the table. "There seriously has to be a cooler part of base here, if there is, we need to go there now. I’m going to pass out." he whined.
"So yo gonna explain what the hell you were doin sneakin around where you don't need to be?" It was hard for her to keep her tone like she was talking to an equal, she'd count this as practice later for getting back into the swing of things. It was hard coming down from a position of power but if she was really planning on ditching Magma for any length of time it needed to be done. She sighed.
"There’s really not. Everyone around is either used to the heat or knows it’s useless to complain about it." Courtney herself was quite comfortable in the heat, even with the Magma gear on. This was comfortable to her and it showed.
Ah, bonsoir.

There’s many other things to do inside on a rainy day though.
Oh, really? Like what? Cause I’m drawin nothin but blanks here.
You could cook, read a book, you could sleep, you could watch television, you can invite friends over?
Must I go on?
Can't cook, reading is a bore, I do more sleeping than I think is healthy, there's never anything good on, and c'mon you think I got friends?
Yeah, go on, striking the ideas down is pretty fun actually.

She just smiled as she watched him realize that she knew. Snickering she sat back in her seat, arms crossing over her chest and eyes rolling as he started to justify his actions. Courtney waited for the end of it, not really paying much attention.
"Kid, you trying to patronize me does nothing but make you look like an idiot." She huffed, resisting the urge to roll her eyes again. "Was. I /was/ part of a criminal organization, and I was, am, and probably always will be, okay with that because at least I wasn't pretending." She wondered just how long he had been able to survive in the full get up. "Since Birch, its really not a common name at all."
"Aha, well, alright. Maybe I’ll try again. I’m a pretty wonderful actor after all. How’s this?" he paused, clearing his throat before grabbing at Courtney’s hand, squeezing lightly. "I-I don’t know where they went! What happened to them all?! What about the Boss?! Where, oh,…
"Aw, you think? That’s so nice. Thank you." he snickered and fanned himself some more. Honestly, what the fuck was this hood made out of? Fleece? It certainly wasn’t very breathable. He could feel the sweat beading down his neck and he wondered if Courtney even knew what he looked like without his hat on. Deciding that no, she didn’t, he tugged at the hood and gasped at the brief sensation of cold hit his damp skin.
He adjusted his hair a little to cover the two scars by his hair line and he groaned noisily. “Can’t we go somewhere less hot? Please? I’m going to die of heat stroke or something. Even if the hood is off.” Ruby was a pro at complaining about things that ruined his personal appearance. That right now, was sweat and heat.
"Sure why not, but I'm not one to know what it takes for acting," Courtney shrugged the thank you off, and rolled her eyes at his display of obvious discomfort. "So kid, tell me, how long were you away from base for?" She scratched at something in the table, not bothered by the heat one bit. Watching, she noted the gasp when he let the hood fall.
She sighed and looked him in the eye, "You can go anywhere you want kid, long as you take off the uniform and give it back to whoever you swiped it from." The Fire shot the kid a short grin, "It's kinda rude to steal you know, especially of all you do is complain." Courtney held her tongue after that, wanting to hear just why whoever this was had taken a uniform and why, but clueing them in on what had happened seemed like not such a great idea.
"Aha, well, alright. Maybe I'll try again. I'm a pretty wonderful actor after all. How's this?" he paused, clearing his throat before grabbing at Courtney's hand, squeezing lightly. "I-I don't know where they went! What happened to them all?! What about the Boss?! Where, oh, where did our leader run off to?" he couldn't stop laughing after his mini stunt.
Coughing to clear his throat, Ruby sat down across from her, leaning his chin on his palm. "It's a little hot, I haven't been down here in some time, so forgive me, please." Nana had absolutely no reason to suffer in the heat and he could tell she was panting. With a sigh, he sent her back into the Pokeball, hiding it.
Courtney frowned down at his hand touching her, not at all happy with it but she left it alone, his act distracting her just enough. She let out a loud snort followed by a short laugh at his stunt. "Maybe you shoulda gone into acting kid, you do about as well as anyone on screen." Which was to say, in her opinion, horribly.
The Fire, ex-Fire she had to tell herself because no she didn't really want this job anymore, shrugged, "It's more than a little hot, you get used to it. Surprised your co-workers haven't given you tips since you got back since it's been so long. Could always kick it like me and lose the hood, boss ain't around to give you a tongue lashing and I'm not gonna."
