♡ 08. WEDDING BELLS. ♡
what’s a roleplay without a funeral AND a wedding ? volume has the range. so, for our final event of the year, we will be celebrating the holy matrimony of kemal arslan and maxine sinclair, and everyone from high volume is invited.
the CEREMONY itself will not take place on the dash ( unless you would like to plot / write a specific moment from it. ) however, it will be held at guppy pond on a day that the forecast predicts should be beautiful and sunny. but as the officiant is about to give permission to “kiss the bride,” clouds appear and sprinkles of rain dot the crowd. but you know what they say about rain – it’s good luck and signifies that a marriage will last. if you’re superstitious about that sort of thing. so, shortly after things are made official, everyone begins to dash to their cars to head to the reception.
the RECEPTION is held in the woodacre barn, which is warm and dry, save for the pails that have to be put out underneath a few leaky spots. the usually dingy party spot has been redecorated with string lights and handpicked flower arrangements, a cozy cottagecore wedding simplicity that fits max’s aesthetic perfectly, and you can sense both the love and the care that came into even the smallest selections. the soft patter of the rain adds to the cozy atmosphere as guests can drink, dance, and celebrate all the ups and downs that brought max and kem together – and everyone can say that at least something good came out of the chaos of the past year.
of course, the LIVE MUSIC will be provided by runaway yesterday, high volume’s resident band. there will be a dj/playlist when the band isn’t playing their set, so the band members will of course have time for the festivities.
i suppose i should mention that on the day before the wedding, james is found and arrested outside a town in iowa, where he was robbing a gas station when he was caught and identified. so, everyone is able to attend the celebration feeling safer than they have in months.
THIS EVENT WILL BEGIN ON SUNDAY, JUNE 19 – starting at 12 noon EST, you can begin to post threads and starters.
so, you have this week to wrap up any other threads, do some plotting, and prep your starters, etc.
again, this is by choice and there are no activity checks, so take on whatever makes sense for you...we’ve never had a history of issues of inclusivity, so i’m just giving you guys the benefit of the doubt for our last event.
the technical end date for things will be july 10, if you need a deadline to figure out the conclusion for your character. but of course, you’re welcome to continue any threads beyond that date if you need to wrap something up . . . or continue writing together for as long as you want, these characters are yours to do what you like with, even if the main is closed.
let me know if you have any questions . . . preferably through the inbox or the questions channel on discord in case other people have the same general questions you do, i can post answers on a public platform.

whether or not i use the admin graphic is completely arbitrary i don’t know why i use it sometimes and i don’t others, but here it is. anyway, just wanted to give a little update on what i posted yesterday ! at this point, i believe all of you have taken the survey and if i miscounted, i apologize, but feel free to message me if you need to weigh in.
SO, here’s what’s up.
we are becoming a CLOSED group. as in, i am no longer taking any applications for new characters.
that said, there will also be no more ACTIVITY CHECKS. it’s a participate by choice from this moment forward, and if you don’t have the time or the muse, that’s just on you. i’m not going to chase you down for the last few weeks of the group.
we will have a final event, details to come tomorrow :) i actually promised certain members we would have this event as the season finale, so i am going to be following through on that promise. i think it’s going to be really fun to be apart of and it’s actually going to be a first for me in all of my years of roleplaying.
the event will have a runtime of a little over two weeks, but obviously you are all welcome to continue your threads longer, start new ones, or keep roleplaying your characters if you’d like? i’m not your boss. well, i sort of am. but not really.
though if you’re closing out your time here, i encourage you to come up with ‘what’s next’ for your character and to share it, i think we’re all really curious and invested in the fate of everyone’s muses, even if it’s just dropping an explanation in the character updates channel.
i feel like the consensus from a lot of comments and messages is that energy and morale has been low in the group, but we all have a lot of love for it and our characters. i think it would feel wrong to abruptly close things, but i don’t want to keep putting effort into something that people are feeling exhausted with. so, it feels right to finish things off with one last event, tie it all together, and get to share conclusions and sendoffs for our muses. i have loved this group so much and been endlessly grateful for the time, thought, and inspiration you’ve all put into building this story together with me. some of you have been here since the start and i think your ideas and activity have been the integral reason this has lasted so long. and some of you are newer, and your fresh thought, character, and perspective have carried us through the past few months. i’m immensely grateful for you all, this is a group of insanely talented writers and it’s been one of my best rp experiences getting to share and create woodstock with you all.

hello ! just with the streak of unfollows, i know that muse can take a hit – it usually does whenever we’ve had an unfollow in this group, i know we all get super invested in everyone’s characters and i love that about this group. we’ve already been at a point of lower activity in this past week specifically. so, as an admin, i just wanted to take the pulse of where we’re at in this group just so i know what kind of work to put in going forward. as i’ve said, i love you guys soooo much and would rp with you to the ends of the earth, but it’s also hard to admin a group that everyone is starting to struggle with.
i know my muse has been at a low point, too, and it never helps things when you can tell your admin is tired. but if i know you still have a lot of heart in this, i think it could respark things for me. so, it really depends.
also, posting something like this tends to be the death sentence for new members, but at this point the group is at, i think i would feel bad accepting new people right now. so, acknowledging that...
the plot is at a point where i could cut it short, we’d miss a twist or two, but it’d give us the chance to end with a big event or a bang so to speak, if we wanted. however, i’d finish out the calendar if the rest of you still really had the muse for it. there’s basically a few avenues things could go here, and i’m trying to decide where to put my effort.

IDENTITY THEFT AND SUCH.
despite all the mayhem, the case involving the use of jerry’s identity last year finally comes to trial. marty, jamie, ethan, josie, nisa, kem, max, blair, trip, and kc are required to be present to give their testimonies in court, while wes, chase, sera, lex, sloane, eric, and lilah are present in the store to help jennifer clean up the last of the mess and re-open following the prior disaster.
the abundance of time has given those testifying the time to iron out their stories, which are, for the most part, true : it was normal for jerry to take off and ask them to sign a few things for him, they didn’t think it was strange that he was gone, as he often would go missing for a while without word – he was an unreliable person. other people in jerry’s life are able to attest to this.
it’s going fairly well until further evidence is presented in court : the break-in at jerry’s home can be linked back to jamie – not the gang responsible for jerry’s death, as his blood and fingerprints were found at the scene. also presented in court is a certain corkboard, recently STOLEN from high volume, which contains notes made by employees of high volume about jerry’s disappearance. while this evidence is largely dismissed, it’s hard to unsee. clearly, the public defender that the group has been assigned kind of sucks for not taking care of these things ahead of time, but that’s the court system for you.
no one from the gang is present at the trial, and there’s been no word on james. the high volume employees might notice aaron warner from the mean-eyed cat present in the pews, and a shifty looking guy whose picture they could match in the paper with james’ lawyer. but other than that, there’s no sign of them.
the judge is disinterested in most of this, and finds it irrelevant to the matter at hand, which is the signed paychecks in jerry’s name. money taken from his business accounts. he lets the members off with a collection of misdemeanor identity theft fines, totaling about $9,000 between them.
it seems like the gang is the worst of their problems lately. where the hell are a handful of minimum wage employees going to gather the money to pay this fine ?
you’re welcome to place threads around this time, whether at the courthouse or in the store if you happen to be an employee pulling extra shifts during the THREE DAYS that the other employees are at the courthouse.
you can also place threads shortly after, or use the discord chat. feel free to have your muses brainstorm some ways to make the money.
don’t come for me about court stuff, i feel like we just deserved to have this technical aspect of the plot no longer looming or taking up time. the point is that this is done with and some characters owe a debt !!

hello ! due to lack of interest over the past month, muse q is a retired skeleton and the character will be written out in this friday’s plot drop, which i’m working on.
the way i see this month, this plot drop will wrap up loose ends regarding the court case, and then we’ll finish up the month of june with a fun and light event !
i will now accept original characters on a sort of rolling basis, as we have some space open for them, next acceptance date is this sunday, june 12. i’m more than happy to work with anyone interested in writing one, i know you might have some questions so, feel free to contact me, we would love to see some new faces around here.

yes ! we do have a handful of members on hiatus, but i always have replies or plotting dms to respond to, i’d say the dash moves pretty steadily but there’s no need to be online every day, there’s a balance.
quick update that this is the LAST week to apply for muse q if you’re interested. as they’ve been open for several weeks, if they’re not applied for by the end of the day EST on sunday, june 5, the skeleton will be retired.
