Oh how I wish I was an artist, I was thinking of a painting idea based on Katekyo Hitman Reborn and my interpretation of the life of Tsunayoshi and his guardians in the mafia (TYL).
Imagine yourself in an art gallery, facing the artwork.
The weather is sunny but a storm is approaching on the left of the painting, while the right is a light blue despite some white clouds.
At the center of the painting stands a shadow bearing a crown too heavy for its head. It is shown in three-quarter view, its hand turned towards a dark throne, attempting to touch the sun atop the chair. The only colors are gold, representing the seven elements in the form of images, the sky in the center, a storm on the left, and rain on the right. The sun is positioned atop the chair on the left, and lightning on the right. At the foot of the chair, the base on either side takes the form of a cloud on the left and fog on the right. A mauve flower lies at the center of the throne, appearing worn.
On the left, there is a body lying on the grass with a hole in the center of its skull, its sex and age are difficult to determine. The shadowy figure watches it, holding a white flower in his left hand as if giving it. Further to the left, an angel seems to observe the scene, a sad but welcoming face extending its right hand towards the body.
A statue is positioned directly between the body and the shadow, which stands there making a gesture of silence, its right index finger placed to her lips. It is blindfolded and crouching as if watching the scene.
To the right of the painting are several men and a women dressed in black and white suits. One of them holds a pistol in his right hand, his face impassive. A woman stands to his right, her face contorted with anger, staring towards the dead body. A man stands behind him, his face bearing an expression of sorrow, gazing into the shadows. Another stands behind him, holding a rosary in his right hand, his face perplexed, looking towards his own hand and the object he holds.
The shadow is none other than Tsunayoshi, depicted this way because he considers himself an imposter. The king of the underworld is represented by the overly heavy crown, its weight crushing him as he lives in a world that doesn't belong to him, yet which he is forced to live in.
He reaches his hand towards the throne, specifically towards the sun. Why? Because my interpretation is that Ryohei is the one who will best manage to "break free" or at least be able to detach himself a little from the mafia, a desire for normalcy that the king desires. The seven elements on the throne? His guardians. Their placement is deliberately chosen, to understand, you must sit on the throne as if you were the king. Therefore, the description of the elements above must be viewed from your perspective on the throne, not facing the painting. Tsunayoshi is seated, his right hand on the storm, his right arm Gokudera Hayato, and his left hand resting on the rain, Yamamoto Takeshi. These two are here because they are the closest people in his circle and, consequently, closest to the mafia.
The sun and lightning positioned above his head? They are above the mafia not because they are superior to Tsunayoshi, but I think they will be the least affected by it for various reasons. Ryohei Sasagawa will always have difficulty integrating into this world regardless of his loyalty to Tsunayoshi, and Lambo, being too young, is rejected by his older brother who wants to involve him in the mafia as late as possible.
Why cloud and fog are closest to the ground? I think that makes sense, he's been through hell and doesn't seem to care about his crimes. Furthermore, Mukuro Rokudo need to be close to the mafia. "To chase the devil, you must become one." Chrome Dokuro will forge her own path, hesitating to follow Mukuro's, but not for the same reasons, to protect the people she loves, even if it means getting burned.
Hibari Kyoka is someone who seeks adrenaline through combat, even if it means making enemies. In the future, he's an intelligence officer, and I think he could be a valuable source of information for Tsunayoshi regarding members of the mafia. He's therefore close to that institution.
The body has no precise identity because the mafia kills regardless of your sex or age. A nuisance? A quick elimination, a bullet to the head. The angel comes to collect his soul and take it to paradise. The statue with a finger to its lips between the two figures represents the code of silence, omertà.
The group of people? Some members of the Vongola family. The man with the gun is the one who shot the person, his face impassive because this is his everyday reality, something he considers normal. He caused death so profoundly that he can look her straight in the eye without remorse. The angry woman may be in the mafia, but the feeling of injustice persists but she must survive. The sad man watching Tsunayoshi is watching a man doing a "job" he hates and that weighs heavily on him every day. The man behind him is experiencing a conflict regarding his own religion : is he making the right choice by continuing down this path? Does he feel at peace with himself?
Finally, the storm practically above Tsunayoshi Sawada represents his own inner conflicts, torn between his duty because of his blood and family, and the guilt that gnaws at him. To the point that one day, he will no longer be able to look at himself in a mirror. That is why he becomes a shadow.
(PS: This was loooong, maybe I'll add or clarify what I wrote). I'll let you figure out why a white flower and why a purple flower.
