i’m just a normal boy. i sank when i fell overboard. my ship would leave the country, but i’d rather swim ashore.
i’m currently walking down the sidewalk with ipod earphones pressed firmly into my ear. into the ocean happened to be the song of choice of my shuffle playlist.
god, i’m so glad i had this in my pants pocket when i was ‘rescued’. i would be so bored without it.
without a life vest, i’d be stuck again. wish i was much more masculine. maybe then i could learn to swim like fourteen miles away.
i push my hands into my pockets and start fiddling with the wires, just trying to keep my hands busy.
now floating up and down. i spin, colliding into sound like whales beneath me diving down. i’m sinking to the bottom of my everything that freaks me out. the lighthouse beam has just run out. i’m cold as cold as cold can be. be.
and then suddenly someone grabs my arm for some reason. i yank the buds from my ear and turn around, not happy that i was interrupted before the chorus. i can hear the vocals continuing on from the tiny bud speakers.
i wanna swim away but don’t know how…
me: what?
"Uh..."
The Rain Guardian retracted his hand, his confused expression mimicking the person he had grabbed.
"Hahaha! Sorry! I was really paying attention. I..I guess I mistook you for my friend or something." Not a lie, or anything really. It was just an reason that Yamamoto wasn't sure was accurate. He couldn't really explain his actions on coming here. Maybe the situation at hand was starting to get to him.
"Anyway, I'm Yamamoto Takeshi! It's nice to meet you!" A conversation had already started, why not keep it going? Hopefully the awkwardness from his earlier actions would fade away if he did so.
