Notice in Regards to Commissions
No, really. I need to have the spotlight shift over here for a moment in regards to one of my businesses.
I honestly wish this hadn't needed to be said and all the chill-ax vibes go the way of the dodo, but....when something keeps happening and kindness is taken advantage of.... it needs to be dealt with. Pronto.
My main trade is graphics. Not only for my 9-5, but I am a freelance designer as well.
Ya girl just likes LOVES to create.
Semi-starving artist. Thankfully I can do what I love to do in many aspects of my life, and I am eternally grateful for it.
In turn, I love to help out anyone I can when it comes to designing, and have offered my services and poured in countless hours on projects. Pride in work, OCD, call it what you will. I enjoy seeing the amount of happiness when people receive their dream product. Like, gimme that serotonin fix.
As with all good things...sometimes bad things slither their way in and not only ruins it for the person they took advantage of...but in turn, that changes and sometimes ruins things for others.
Not a cool thing to do, bruh.
I've encountered a bit too many of these incidences and finally have had to make the decision that changes need to be made.
I want to be able to keep doing what I love to do , what I love to do. Yes, it is how I put money on the table as well.
Overall, it's all about integrity.
I give my all and integrity is a massive trait I lead with when working on products for people, and it is the LEAST I expect in return.
I wouldn't request a service from someone and not pay them back (let it be monetary or through trade).
That is simply bad business (and bad karma).
That being said, I have a new process in place for those wishing to commission me. Once again, I do apologize for this more.....not-so-chill... new format, but I have to now protect my time and work as an artist.
Please find the new commission details below the break here, and for the love of everything....
Be nice to one another. Don't be THAT person that ruins someone's dreams.

NEW PROCESS FOR COMMISSIONED ART
Free consultation. This is where we will discuss your concept and what you expect for the finished piece. I will also go over my terms and conditions of what I require for doing business together.
If the shoe fits and we are both copesetic with what we expect from each other - FANTABULOUS! Let's ride, partner! At this stage, a contract for both parties to sign that lays out what we expect from each other and the process in which it will take, will be sent out. This holds both sides accountable so integrity on all ends will be kept in place.
With the contract there is also a non-refundable deposit. This deposit goes towards your final amount due at the end. The deposit is put in place as a safeguard for my time as an artist. If you have to withdraw in the midst of business - and after discussing it first ; we don't leave each other in the dark around here - we will come upon an agreement to cease operations. All cool. Life happens. Just let's respect each other, yeah?
That being said, during the concept designing process, there will be proofs sent to the client along the way that will be watermarked. The finished product upon final payment after proof is accepted will contain no watermark. This will be sent once payment is received. This is to protect myself and my work since I've been burned a fair too many times.
IF it is found that an attempt of watermark has been removed by the client during the process -i.e, contract is heckin' breeched - and final payment has NOT been collected, and you ghost me.... a cease and desist will be drawn up. (To be frank, I prefer drawing nice things, so please do not make me resort to this.)
This is NOT to deter future collaborations, but a sole need to protect my time and work as an artist.
I apologize again for having to take things this far now instead of a simple message and a 'let's do this!' .
For those looking to do trades of service, this will also be handled in a far different manner that will be discussed during the consultation phase. This format of business is also deeply affected and to be honest, more stricter than monetary commissions now.
So yeah, don't be that person and let's make some fun things together, ok? Respect goes a long way, and let's just be better people to one another and not ruin good things.
Maybe things will be lifted once I have trust back, but for now these measures will have to be put in place.
