You should be more careful with what you touch, young one. For strange things can happen, and fates can be altered, when dragon eggs are placed beneath the heavens.
There is a legend, in the far north. It precedes written word, carried on whispered voices and stories from mothers to babes. In caves buried deep beneath the earth, drawings scrawl of a terrible tri-horned beast of darkest night that will someday devour the earth. They say he will take his spears of doom and drive them into the earth, drinking the life straight from its core, and plunge the world into death and destruction.
Some say he is a fragment of a wilder time, when the earth loathed to be chained, and that he will be the final escape. Others say he is a vengeful beast of an other worldly nature, insatiable in his hunger. Regardless of what story you hear, one thing is certain. Territium will be the end.
You must understand, however, the precious nature of dragons. They are what us mortals might call a... blank slate. Fate might move them and pull strings, but they are, to some degree, law unto itself. And there is a bond so etheral and strange between the dragons and the things that glimmer above. It is impossible to understand, and yet undeniable in its miracles.
We have a most incredible example here, when the beast called Territium, the earth's destruction, was plucked from the darkness and placed beneath the dancing tongues of flame. Light from the stars and the skyfire touching directly on the shell of a dragon... it is safe to say he has been altered.
And so the beast that emerged was not a death-bringer with horns of darkness, but a creature of light, carrying upon his brow the full might of a star. Purging away the thing that lurked beneath his skin, he has been born anew beneath the painted sky. It is impossible to know how the tapestry of fate has been twisted and turned down the line, but it appears we may have been blessed with a champion of ages, rather than the end of them all.
