I don't have a DNI. Just don't be a dick.
⊹ Flirting with me is fine as long as A. I actually know you and B. you're a reasonable age to be doing so and not a man
⊹ I'm anti-harassment and may depict toxic relationships in my work. Be warned.
⊹ I often say or do things without fully thinking them through. Be patient with me.
⊹ I am a Stella Hansen (Hfjone) Fictionkin, and I am very easily triggered by mentions of Bryce, myself, or anything to do with HfjONE's finale. Be cautious talking about the show around me.
⊹ I am also a fictionkin of Berdly (Deltarune) and Kylie (Soulless Sonic). I take any comments towards them very personally... don't be mean or weird towards them around me. Berdly doubles are okay, but I'm much more iffy when it comes to Kylie doubles.
⊹ I am a non-sharing yume with:

Clarifying this so anyone who yumes with them can block my ass LOL
I think this is one of my favorite video game songs of all time. I’m gonna spit some words about it. DONATE MONEY IF YOU LIKE WORsd
The first thing you’ll probably notice about it is that it’s performed by a live orchestra. Considering the game was released in 1999 for the Playstation, this is a pretty prestigious feat. The fact that it’s awesomely orchestrated and quite well-composed is also great. Let’s examine some of the stuff going on in it on a simpler level:
0:00-0:04
The background of the piece is presented, and repeated once to establish it securely.
There are three main lines here, the backing melody, the bassline, and the percussion. Listen to each.
The snare line lands on the same beat as the bassline, emphasizing it and essentially combining the two into one line. The bassline, meanwhile, alternates between complementing and emphasizing the melody.
The interrelation of the parts allows all of the parts to blend together, and the quick repetition allows the parts to sink into the background as one cohesive musical unit.
0:05 - 0:22
The melody is introduced on the clarinet. The melody line is higher and more sustained than the background lines so it holds our attention the best.
Listen to the snare and the clarinet line at the same time. You’ll notice that the “important” sounding notes land on the notes emphasized by the snare. Gotta make the most of that emphasis.
I really like 0:13- it’s just a transition back into the start of the melody, but we get a teasing of the powerful brass and percussion line that shows up at 0:23. Musical foreshadowing.
0:22 - 0:53
Here’s the second, sweeping melody. Though the percussion and are amped up and the chords are different, the feel of the piece is still maintained! This is because background rhythm is essentially the same, with the same rhythm being played by the bassline, the percussion, and the background melody.
I adore the trumpet parts at 0:24 and 0:30 that complement the melody when it reaches a long note. Especially beautiful is the french horn countermelody at 0:32. Then the flute comes in at 0:49 to provide a new texture that clearly leads us into the part at 0:53 where it plays the melody.
0:53 - 1:20
Now THIS is a seriously contrasting section. Not only is that a weird key change, but the heavy percussion and omnipresent rhythm that have been identifying the song thus far drop out! THEN the key changes again and we get HEAVY, then soft again, but the soft builds up into HEAVY again. Then we get something that sounds like Danny Elfman’s Batman soundtrack.
Really deep musical analysis here. It sounds like Batman.
1:20 - 1:34
This is essentially the ending of the piece - the most important part is that the original rhythm is brought back to wrap the song up into a loop. Also of interest is the rising brass line, ‘cuz it rules.
———————————-
Main takeaways:
- A super cheap and easy way to start writing your piece is to set up a ubiquitous rhythm. MEGALOVANIA is an example of a piece written that way. Or this song from the same soundtrack.
- Think about how your parts are related/unrelated rhythmically, ESPECIALLY for percussion.
- Batman
If you want a challenge:
- Try and figure out what the chords to this song are. I can only play up to 1:00 on the piano.
Guess what… I’ve been sick and busy with stupid things…… and now…. I’m still both of those things…. but I wrote something…. about a song I like….. Peace Out
I was listening to my old project files recently and I realized that this sub-melody (?) is pretty hard to hear in the final version because of the time stretching and reverb of everything else.
I really like the first melody and the idea of having a 5/4 section after. Everything else I just made up on the spot… I should really experiment with more rhythm changes! (james/soselfimportant actually suggested that to me) They’re interesting and fun. I should also work on structure and make things longer than a minute without repeating…
I think I will start taking commissions soon, after I get some things off my plate. One of the options would be improvised piano songs like this, for a pretty cheap amount… reasons being that the recording quality is pretty terrible and I’m not very good at piano. Somewhere in the $5-10 range for something like this. Would anyone be interested?

I really like this song, it felt like it was composed as a joke, but i wanted to see what it would sound like if it was more ZUN/me-ish, because i really liked the overall composition.
This song - a piece of which would later inspire Another Medium from UNDERTALE - was based off of Doctor by George Buzinkai, who just passed away.
Doctor was my favorite song from Homestuck and my remix of it was a turning point for me as a musician.
Rest in peace.
A long time ago, two races lived peacefully on the Earth’s surface, HUMANS and MONSTERS.
One day, a terrible war broke out between the two creeds. After a long battle, the HUMANS were victorious. They forced the MONSTERS into a mountain cavern and sealed the entrance with a magic spell.
Many years have passed since then…
I’ve been working on a role-playing game. It’s called UNDERTALE. Here is the demo. Please play it if you have Windows.
If you like the game, please post about it and tell your friends to play it.
