        The echoing of kitten heels striking poorly bleached linoleum floors is the most prominent sound, they way it bounces off concrete walls and ping-pongs down the hall almost cancel out the whistles and warbles of other inmates. ‘You’re like catnip for killers, Doctor Bloom.’ She knows, she knows, she knows. 

        She reaches the holding room, head nodding and a polite smile spreading, a gesture she exchanged with the same guard once a week to relieve him of his post. Most wardens required all conversations between outside entities and incarcerated individuals to be recorded, for interactions to be monitored. But Alana Bloom doesn’t work like that. 

        Door opens and closes behind her before taking her usual seat across from Faith. “Hi.” Always ‘hi.’ Never ‘hello’ or ‘hey.’ Always accompanied by a sincere curl of lips. It’s the welcome mat rolling out, come in or stay outside, your choice. 

        Hands glide over her own lap to smooth out any wrinkles of her quarter-sleeved, low-cut, multipatterned wrap-dress as she gets situated. “How are you?”

where in the world is carmen sandiego kendra? that’s a great question and i think i’m finally in a place where i can tell you.

last october, i blindsided with a divorce from my wife of ten years. long story short, she cheated on me and the divorce was finalized february of this year. it was a long and grueling process, my life was not only turned upside down but in shambles. it’s now august and i’m only just now... okay. okay, being used as a lack of a better word. i do miss writing on here though, like, a lot. i miss alana. i recently rewatched all three seasons of hannibal and she’s been hootin’ and hollerin’ loudly in my head. and i miss my other blogs, too. like diana? god. she’s constantly yelling, too. and let me tell y’all that stranger things and nancy fucking wheeler have fully taken over my life and i think i’m ready to move nancy from discord and onto here with her own blog. anyways, this was just a little psa to inform y’all where i’ve been and how i never meant to pull a danny phantom and go ghost but these past few months were a literal trip to hell and back for me. but i also wanted to say that i would love nothing more than to get back in some sort of writing routine on here. thank you to all who are still with me and those who took the time to read this. i hope everyone is well and i’ll talk to you all again soon <3
