The day progressed at a much faster pace than anticipated. The high-speed stride that defined the early morning likely attributed to it, with most of her traveling happening through automobiles and occasional phasing, unintentional as the latter was.

Now the day was winding down, and dinnertime drew near. Where she was going to eat, she didn’t know, and the unfamiliarity of the area didn’t help at all. The outside world was too damn big!

She heard a grumbling – loud to boot – nearby, and followed it to its source.

“…was that your stomach?”

         As if it would help calm his stomach down and          lessen the sounds it was making, Wolfram          wrapped his arms around his waist and kept          his head down until addressed by a complete          stranger. ( Then again, everyone in this world          was a stranger to him. )

                     "!!"

         God this was embarrassing. Someone had          actually heard his stomach growling just when          he was hoping people wouldn't notice. Flustered          by the notion, he turned his head away sharply          and spoke perhaps a little too defensively.

                     "N-No! No, that was not my stomach!                       It must have been a bear! Yes, that's                       it! A bear! That rumbling sound was a                       bear!"

“…N…No, not quite…” On any other day, he bet he would have found this amusing. (Unfortunately, sleep had not been kind to him lately.) Eddie couldn’t help but sigh, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to think of how to explain this. “It’s fake. A children’s game. The creatures in it were created for this game specifically.” As cool as it would be to have real life pokemon out and about in the world, it just wasn’t real.

On the other hand, he hopes the blond never sees the pet games that were out there.

Eddie reached over, carefully pulling the game from the other’s grasp and placing it back on the shelf. “Most of the stuff in games is just plain make-believe. Ways for people to do things that they can’t do in the real world. People spend forever programming and creating this stuff for them.”

         The humans in this world were definitely more          advanced than anyone in his world. He knew          that from the first moment he set foot in this place,          but to think they were so advanced to have games          like this when his people still played with wooden          things like swords and shields was astounding.          Wolfram hadn't seen these games until now, so          it was no wonder he was still confused by the          technology.

                     "Things you can't do in the real world..."

         This one was definitely human then and knew          nothing of mazoku. With the game plucked from          his grasp, he finally decided to look at the one          addressing him.

                     "These are mostly for kids then, huh?"

         If that was the case, he could probably buy one          for Yuuri.

i don’t really do the coding stuff apart from mess around with it a lil but i do the backgrounds aND THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME THANK-YOU. they’re not as pretty as what i wish i could make like holy hell so many people have prettier backgrounds BUT PAINT.NET KINDA LIMITS ME A LITTLE ANYWAY I GUESS.

They just exist in games, like these.” Though, he had to admit, the idea behind it sounded a tad bit ridiculous, even for a game. “And how you deal with them varies for each game. Like Pokemon; In the game, you keep them in pokeballs, yeah, but you encounter people who do keep them as pets. Or you find people who use them purely for their own gain, like tools. It’s an interesting game, really.”

Still… This boy seemed a little odd. “But, like I said, it’s just a game. Monsters technically don’t exist.” Technically being the keyword here; Eddie had seen a few creatures and people that could classify as ‘monsters’. “It’s all just digital.”

                     "...I see."

         So Earth really didn't have the kind of beasts          that existed within his world. The 'tools' part          made him think of horses and pigeons, which          made sense, but with the addition of "their own          gain," it sounded more likely that they were used          for selfish purposes. Scowling at the game in his          hand, he started shaking it up and down.

                     "So in other words, these monsters                       have been put into this game. They've                       been captured and forcefully put into this                       just so humans can capture them again                       and use them as a means of acquiring                       power?"

         Needless to say, the whole concept went over          Wolfram's head completely. But if that was true          then this was DEFINITELY a more effective way          of capturing animals.
