“a dream is a wish your heart makes” - Cinderella (1950) I can’t put into words how much this tattoo means to me, but I’m gonna try. If you don’t know me well, you probably don’t know that I suffer with serious anxiety. It’s not something that you can tell when you just look at someone. For a while, it controlled my life. At one point, I couldn’t eat or go out of the house because of it. Anyone with anxiety knows the sad truth that it can never go away fully.. it took me years and years to find ways to cope with it. One of the things that I found helps to calm me down during an anxiety attack is watch Disney movies or another is to listen to Disney music. Doing those things gives me an explainable feeling, it makes my heart feel full and gives me a sense of hope that I can get through anything. That’s the best way I can explain it. Cinderella is my favorite Disney movie for many reasons, including but not limited to, how much I admire Cinderella for not letting all the negativity and other things hold her back from where she wants to be. I can really see myself in her. My tattoo is a quote from one of the songs in the movie. If you know me, you’d also know that I am a huge dreamer and if I want something, I won’t give up until I achieve my dream. This tattoo is also placed directly under my heart, because my dreams are wishes that my heart makes and one of my dreams was to find the strength to overcome my anxiety, and thanks to Disney (and Cinderella), I have.
