Silksong PSA for all the players that have a really slow reaction time, like me: do not ever play aggressively. The solution to almost every single battle is to retreat at every opportunity, and ONLY strike when the boss gives you clear access to do so. The trick is learning where it is you retreat to, and which attacks you can punish.

I have become ill with the fact that the game is Over and I have Consumed It All. There is no more to explore. Most of the fandom is still catching up. What do I do, make my own content? Like an artist would? Preposterous

Major true ending spoilers under cut.

I am gonna be so fr, years ago I made the observation that with all this shipping between Lace and Hornet, it really was a choice for team cherry to acknowledge that or not. And all jokes aside, I really had no expectations that they'd actually do anything with it. Studios never do; and after all that radio silence, I doubt they were even paying attention.

SO TO SAY THAT I HOLLERED AT THAT ENDING.... I cannot believe them. They actually committed to the bit. They deadass ran away together like the little horrible lesbians they are. The absolute red herring of establishing a home in bellheart??? The fucking twist after Lace said she was basically already dead???? The foreshadowing when Lace is stunned????? The nod Hornet gives her mom as she escapes with Lace limp in her arms???? ?? THE TITLE SCREEN ON THE SURFACE??????? Team Cherry I will kiss you, on the lips. Comere.

And oh my god, I am... So happy they canonized the godhome ending. I respect when sequels are open-ended to support all interpretations of the lore, but. Let's be real. This is fucking awesome. It's SUCH a self-indulgent ending, it's hysterical to me that they said that silksong is an independent entry in the series. And it makes the retroactive interpretation of the lore in hollow knight so much more rich... was ghost searching for her? Were they unaware of the plight of this kingdom, and only was able to find her after she took that plunge into the void? They came so quickly, too 🥹

As a last note to really ponder, I am fascinated by the retroactive characterization of WL. Hornet's backstory fell in line with what we understood already, but WL... she's very different than the aloof, uncaring, oblivious, Super Horny woman we know and love from before. And tbh, I prefer the dumbsterfire of a mom she was in HK, but it seems that interpretation stems mostly from a lack of information and blanket assumptions rather than subtext. I wonder if Team Cherry was bothered by this, to have given her such a spotlight in this game 😂
