âBeing wrapped in your warmth while a soothing breeze blows past, it'sâ Oh! That's it! Thanks to you, I've gotten an idea for a new poem. When it's finished, you'll be the first to see it.â
âThank you for your call. I apologize for not being able to answer after you took the time to call me. I'd hate to inconvenience you but please do call me back at a later time. You have my sincerest thanks.â
A/N:Hello! It's me again! I wanted to post first brother part as soon as possible so you can know what will happen in this series! It was kind of spontaneous decision to write it as series, so this chapter may look chopped (there's a lot of spaces and a lot is happening)
You were a mess when he saw you standing deadly in front of the cabinet. The house was dimly lit as you didn't want to see the sun. Everything reminded you of âthemâ. The person who took you away from him and his brothers. And you just casually walked away, accepting mere humans without anything to love you. You have them what you didn't want to give him. And that wasn't fair at all, don't you think?
He was the one who gave you everything. He was helping you. He was protecting you when you needed it. And you never were harmed when he was around. His hand was always here when it was dangerous, so you won't get hurt. Even if he wasn't a saint. Even if he looked at your neck, wanting to bite and see blood. Because it looked beautifully on you, not because he wanted you wounded. Or maybe
He didn't like seeing you helpless and full of pain. And that human made you look like that. You liked that picture without showing much emotion. But deep inside he knew that you wanted to hug it and cry. Or destroy it and get emotional after your loss.
He walked slowly, with his emotions under his control, knowing that it'll be the best in that situation.
Never in his life would he know that something like that will happen.
His hands wrapped around your shoulder. One palm placed on the side of your head, pulling you closer to his chest. Letting you hear his heartbeat. Without saying anything, he just stroked your hair, forging your emotions in comfort. Feeling your fingers digging into his clothes. Eyes swelling with tears. Holding back the mournful cry while staring at the picture.
Eyes covered by glasses like he usually wears in the human world reflected light that was nowhere to be seen.
Just looking at this pathetic human made him wince. Why do you need to suffer because of them?
His hand moved away, touching the photo frame. Your body shivered when he did that, but you didn't know what you wanted to do. Just shiver or plunge forward for your lover? Your body reacted, but your mind was completely blank.
He delicately placed the frame down, flat on the wooden furniture. The photo wasn't in front of your eyes anymore, and you felt like you could finally breathe. But⊠was it worth it? It won't change anything at allâŠ
âShh.â He whispered, kissing your head softly. It was a really cozy and nice feeling. Bringing you comfort and protection. With his hands around you, you could feel safe.
Without seeing his face, you didn't know he never looked at the frame laying down. He still looked down, at small tears dripping from your face. No emotion painted on his face at all. âThat's not worth crying. It won't bring them back.â
His words hurt. It was like rubbing salt into your wounds. But⊠that's how Lucifer is⊠fiercely straightforward and not looking for coloring truth.
Even if it was hurtful, it was even comfortingâŠ
You looked up, looking at the shadow on the wall in front of you.
âDo you want to come home?â He asked, hugging you closer.
Home? This was your home⊠but it didn't feel like it anymoreâŠ
You nodded very slightly, not even hoping he would notice. But he saw that subtle move.
He smirked, knowing you don't see it at all. Nuzzled to your head a little before you saw his shadow grow horns and wings.
Letting go of your body, you allowed him to take you homeâŠ
A place where you could feel loved - House of Lamentation.
Where were you for days? It was Lucifer's room.
For at least a week you stayed here, with him not allowing you to leave. Sometimes he was going out. Then he was working by his desk. Or he was just sitting with you. Each day you felt better and better. Sometimes other brothers came inside, worrying about you.
Your lover's name was never mentioned. Not even once.
After a week, your life looked like it was before you finished the exchange program. You didn't have to go to RAD. You just stayed in that big house, even if no one could stay with you sometimes. You could wander around without saying anything. Nostalgia hit you so much that you could not help but smile for the first time after that accident.
A lively house that showed you how to live. You were here again. You, again, could feel the same as before. With happy demons spending time with you. Playing games, watching TV, eating, sleeping, running away when Lucifer is angry and Mammon pulls you behind him.
With Lucifer often taking you away from others, with a strong grip that still felt so tender, even if it was very possessive.
That's how Lucifer was. Always.
This time wasn't different. Others came out, but your wrist was catched quickly. Your body stopped from going out with them to hang out. It was Lucifer who stopped you, pulling you closer to him, so you won't even reach the doorframe.
His brothers turned around, looking at you two for a moment before avoiding staring at the situation.
âWhere are you going?â He asked, stern voice making you look up with curiosity.
âWe were going shopping.â You answered as other guys stood still, waiting.
âYou're not going anywhere.â Their older brother said, like he wasn't listening to you.
You opened your mouth to say something, but no sound could come out before he started talking.
âYou're not well enough. I don't think you should tire yourself of shopping.â
âBut-â
âYeah, he's right. Don't worry. We will manage!â Mammon said with a smile, looking at you for a moment.
âWe will get you your favourite crisps!â Beel added.
âOh, wait up, I'll give you a bag.â You reached out to your pocket to give them a small bag that would help them carry things. Hand pulled you again, stopping you from moving even a step.
Looking up, you regretted that. Lucifer's eyes were cold and dangerous. Red filled with poison while thinking about you going out.
Why would you want to go? A few days ago you sat in his bed, crying your eyes out. He needed to force you to forget about what happened. He did so much so you will be normal. So you won't think about âthat thingâ.
The door closes behind six out of seven demons, lock clicking with low tone. Metal twisting weirdly, even for such an old house.
âCome. I'll prepare you something to eat.â He said, pulling your hand again and started walking. Seeing you regain focus on him, he placed palm on your back, pushing slightly when you walked shoulder to shoulder. Making sure you're not looking back.
He made sure of it, raising his hand up when your face moved to the side, almost like you're going to look at the entrance.
That's why he knew he needed to do some preparations.
That won't just make you stay with him forever.
He needed more.
You sat by the table when he worked with a knife to prepare simple ingredients to feed you.
Lucifer's cooking is never bad. It's delicious, even if simple. And he was doing your favourite from the Devildom meals.
Something was suspiciousâŠ
You could never go near the door without his intervention.
You didn't get your phone. Your DDD? Gone somewhere. You got your clothes and everything you needed. Just like you were supposed to live here.
Nothing that connected you with the human world remained thoughtâŠ
The bad thing was⊠you really felt like you're home here. You forgot aboutâ
NoâŠyou can't forget. Just thinking about that day made you sweat.
They died⊠and that's it⊠you won't ever feel them by your side. You won't hear âI love youâ again. You're left alone⊠with nothing by your name. No human being wants to say they're your lover. Not when you're like that.
You gave out a shaky breath, trying to calm down.
When you finally looked up, you shivered seeing Lucifer's face. His eyes widened, lips pressed in a thin line. Pupils sharp, detecting all of your motion.
âLuci-?â
âWhat are you thinking about?â He stopped you, turning away to continue cooking.
â...you knowâŠâ
âDon't bother.â He said harshly. âYou can't bring back the dead just when you mourn them.â
His words hit you deeply. But it was all rightâŠ
âFocus on what you have now. Who you have.â
â...yeahâŠâ
The problem was, you had everything but not answers. You walked and walked. You slept in your room now. You met with Lucifer everyday at least 10 times.
âDon't botherâ
âDon't worryâ
âThey left you and that's it. Focus on what you have now.â
âI won't ever leave youâ
âI would never do the same as themâ
âI would never make you cry like thatâ
âYou'll be forever safe hereâ
âThat would be stupid to keep that up. Smile for me. Forget.â
And whisper âLove me as you loved them.â
And yes⊠LuciferâŠ. He was absolutely right about it.
When he said he loved you, it wasn't a dream.
He never liked âthat human who took your heart and had no right to do soâ.
Harsh reality that needed harsh movements.
And now you cannot open the door. They're closed shut. You have no power to open them. Everyone can reach the doorknob. Your hand stops right before you can touch it. The same goes for windows.
And every time you even look outside, you see that look on Lucifer's face. The same expression you saw when he was cooking.
He hated itâŠ
Your comfortable place is filled with such mystery as his behavior.
Mysteries often aren't solved easily. And when you weren't bothered anymore by your dead lover, you wondered more.
You heard Lucifer a lot. When he told the truth about that situation. So you started believing. To this point, where you know that mourning doesn't make any sense.
You never knew how they died. You never wanted to hear the police saying that. You just visited them one last time, on their funeral. One that Lucifer visited, and never let out a single tear.
Yes, he just tolerated the human you loved, right? For your happiness.
You didn't know he hated them with all his might, wanting them gone from the moment they appeared. Taking away his chance to have you for himself.
When overwhelming emotions disappeared, you wondered. How did they die?
You could kneel in front of Lucifer later, apologizing. But he won't let you even say their name. Not even once. You need to keep silent.
And one person who could reach human world media was either Leviathan or Asmodeus.
With Levi⊠you could just ask him. Asmo won't be so easy.
And every time you look for an answer for anything, each brother looks⊠weird. Like they know the truthâŠ
âI'm sorry Levi.â You whispered as he slept on the floor after the anime marathon, while stealing his phone. Seeing directly that he can be connected to the human world web with just one app.
The date here surprised you⊠it was a monthâŠ
You felt lightheaded, but continued to search, sitting in a dark living room. On the floor behind the sofa, so no one will see.
âAccident on xx.xx.xxxx.â you searched, scrolling through various lines. Reaching what you looked forâŠ
With a tightened throat and heart, you read it.
Slowly and steady scrolling the whole article about an unexpected accident no one knows how happened.
A young person looked up suddenly, and started choking. Their eyes meeting something no one else saw, to the point they coughed with blood, started shivering with heart beating so loud others could hear it.
Nothing was seen on their skin. But insides started tearing apart without any reason. Eyes always looking up, at the nearest roof.
Right before the ambulance arrived, the human was dead, after long minutes of suffering.
To this day, no one can say what happened. But according to doctors, that would be caused by drug overdose.
Did your lover⊠ever take something?
You took all your courage to look at the photos. Knowing there won't be anything bloody, just the place.
And what you happened to see made your blood become cold.
Black feathers flying upwards, to the roof. And also the fact that a completely healthy person suddenly died. Just like that, without any warning.
You imagined scenarios, but never would see what actually happened.
You see, Lucifer was once an Angel. And what they do the best is taking your breath away. With their beauty and power.
With black wings spreading on the roof. With red eyes glowing with hate as he looked down at walking human. With just one movement of his eyes, made them look up. Head that darted right up, broke. Eyes never blinking, widened like they would pop out at any moment.
Moving lips once, one curse was enough to kill a human.
Graceful being that could kill with just a stare. How would something as pathetic as humans win with that?
No one else saw him, he made sure of it. When he leaned closer to the edge of the small house, raising his head with pride. Looking at black blood pouring from their throat, filling their lungs, making them unable to breathe. Choking them without even placing a finger on them.
Their throat clenched over and over again, making burbling sounds. They coughed, they scratched their neck, trying to let it out somehow. With each gasp, insides tore. Letting corrosion of cells take place.
Humans are weak creatures. They don't deserve a lot of things. And that thing never deserved you. He had no mercy, making sure that mouth that spat out your name gag on blood that flows out. Slowly but surely forcing all liquid crimson outside. Painting the sidewalk red, black for Lucifer's eyes. Curse in blood with just one order - take it all out, cause suffering.
âWas it worth it?â He said, just to reach out to the human. A dark smile playing on his lips. Exclusive attention for someone who craved it, right? They wanted you, so they have what comes with it.
The person who never looked away from him was slowly dying. But the angel of death in front of them just looked down, craving to see them dying in pain.
âWas your useless love for MC worth it?â He smiled more, seeing a hideous face under him. Craving to step on that head raising in his mind. But he told himself not to play. âIf you find your way to hell, I'll do that over and over again. Until you're erased from existence. And MC won't ever remember that something as pathetic as you ever said their name.â
...
âWhat are you reading?â
You jumped up hearing voices in darkness right behind you.
âDid I give you your phone? I don't think so.â He said, humming, sitting down on the couch next to you. âWell?â
â...â
âYou have something to say.â The mocking tone in his voice annoys you. You could swear his eyes glow with a tint. âI'm listening.â
That's the same face he probably made when he was killing the person you loved⊠with his chin high, he never looked away.
But with you, there was no curse. He just wanted to intimidate you.
âSo? Just say it. I won't be angry.â
â...â
âOr maybe I will?â A low laugh rumbled in your ears. âGo ahead. Don't make me wait.â
âYou killed them, right?â You asked calmly when your heart raced.
â...â He didn't answer right away. He just sat down more comfortably, letting the phone give you some light. âAnd what if I did?â
â...â
Your pulse raised.
âI don't know why you're stating that even if you know I couldn't do that.â
Fucking liarâŠ
âWhyâŠ?â
âWhat? Are you really going to accuse me for such a thing? Oh pleaseâŠâ
â...Tell meâŠâ your voice hitched. âTELL ME TRUTH.â
He sighed with a small shiver. He sounds amusing.
âDo you really want to?â
He leaned forward just so you could get some light on his face. Unblinking expression with smirk. Black horns shining as they went into reach.
âI did you a favor. Gave you the life you wanted. One you deserve. And you just⊠wanted to end unhappy with human? In the beginning... I never asked you for affection, but as you gave it to me, you should keep up with the consequences, don't you think so? I never asked for you to make me LOVE you so much.â
â...â
âSo much I cannot lose you. Can't let you goâ.â
Before he finished last word, your body moved on. Letting go of Levi's phone. Abandoning it on the floor, looking back once as you ran in darkness. Seeing luminous light shining up, showing you half of his body. Wings fluffing a bit, catching the last second of the screen being on. Red eyes that looked straight into yours, even for a second when you looked back. Maintaining eye contact the moment he had one chance.
The screen blackened, and your body felt too light.
Making you quickly run, not knowing where exactly.
Knowledge about the house of lamentation didn't help you in complete darkness. You tripped over and over again. Once on the table, then the chair. Then stairs.
Once you go upstairs, there's no running when he waits for you.
Your knees give out when you hit the stairs steps. You let yourself breathe a moment in panic. Not seeing anything made you hear things. Your heart made sure to force you to hear only that loud beat as calm steps walked closer and closer. Elegant shoes echoing on marble floors.
How far away is he? Where is he?!
Chills went up your back when he was closer. Tears filled your eyes...
Yet he stopped⊠How much space do you have?
You stood up, trying not to breathe. Looked around like it would show you something.
Your legs moved to the other side, away from stairs. Wanting to gain speed, your face pushed into something softer than the wall. Warmer.
Two hands wrapped around your body.
And tears just squeezed out with a strong stream.
âWhy are you even running? Do you even have a place to go?â He whispered to your ear. âDo you think I would ever let you? You're safe here. You'll be happy here. So⊠why can't you just be mineââ
You pushed his chest away, falling down onto the floor, crawling.
When you tried to stand up, his fingers flicked. Lights turned on, blinding you immediately.
You looked like a scared animal in front of the hunter. Wounded and moments before dying.
Your legs moved, tried to get away.
But can you even escape him?
Your legs were wrapped in something cold. It was slithering up your body, squeezing.
Hands were raised above your head. Body lifted from the floor.
Wines wrapping up your skin, some of them wiping water flowing out of your eyes.
He came closer.
âWhere were you running? Why? You know I won't ever hurt you. You know I love you.â
Vines wrapped up your body, squeezing harder and harder.
âWho would you be? Just because I got rid of obstacles? I did it for my family. My brothers are happy with you. I AM happy with you. Doesn't that matter anymore?
You could feel it digging inside of your skin.
âDoes it matter to you at all? Killing that bastard was the best thing I would ever do.â
Something snapped, making you wince in pain.
âLuciâ.â
âAm I not worth your love? Even if I am, you can't change how it went.â
You're his safety, his love, his sanity. His everything. Arcadia of his dreams. Why would you ever want to leave?
âWHY?â he screamed louder, making vines squeeze one last time.
You think it too⊠he was good⊠he is nice. He is loving you more. He is giving you everything. But...
And your body gave out. Pulling stopped. Pressure released. All with one snap that moved over your body. With droplets of blood flowing down to your legs, dripped onto the floor.
Small thorns pull your skin, piercing it. Bigger vines crushing your chest, forcing your ribs to move a little too much.
The crack was echoing through your whole body as you screamed in pain.
Your lungs are not able to gather any air.
As you fought for breath, he looked at you with slight panic.
Your eyes rolled, losing their focus, blood rushed from your nose, smearing crimson on your lip.
Worried, he gasped with relief when your heart gave him a sign.
Lucifer lowered you, and catched you in soft arms. Holding you close, searching for pulse.
Your soul hoped to never wake up. Your memories clashed. With extreme pain and stress, they never came back to where they were.
Body was forced to get up. Without one important information.
You opened your eyes with pain all over your body. You looked around and saw you're in your room.
One demon sitting right next to you, wiping your face with wet material.
â... LuciferâŠâ you whispered when you saw his red eyes. They widened when you woke up.
âMC.â He said quickly, placing hand on your cheek. Clearly worried.
What even happened? Did something happen at RAD? Something attacked you? Why is your body hurting so much?
âDon't worry⊠you're fine now.â He said with a soft voice. âI won't let anything happen to you again.â
That's right⊠that's your overprotective Lucifer⊠one who always cares for you. One who never lets you down. One who loves you almost too much.
âYour body is all healed up, but don't strain yourself. I'll let others knowââ
You reached for his hand before he walked away.
â... LuciferâŠâ you said with a rusty voice.
âHm?â
â...i love youâŠâ
He smirked when he leaned down, kissing your forehead. âI know.â
No matter what happens, he wouldn't be to blame, right?
Next up will be Mammon. Stay tuned for his part. (This part is my favorite đđ)
A/N: I am sorry for all mistakes you can find here. Both grammar and plot wise mistakes. It was first I wrote for this series and I was "so, how I'm going to kill them?" So I just sat down and thought about the most possible death Lucifer can cause without leaving much trace. As I mentioned in story page post, some of chapter will be more physical. And some will be more psychological. I do think that this chapter comes in psychological ones.
Listen up, it's probably not emotional or yandere at all. I'm sorry if I destroyed concept.
Why were you crying? Why did he have to find you crying? Somebody else would be infinitely better suited to comfort you, though that obvious fact made his stomach churn with envy.
Were you going to stop crying? How could he get you to stop crying? Why'd it have to be him, of all demons, to find you? He'd be better off not knowing this ever happened, oblivious to the fact that you were ever upset to begin with.
Leviathan tried to smile warmly at you as he approached. It looked like a twisted grimace. Too much teeth, not enough genuine emotion. He was clearly out of his element.
"What's... up?" he asked, his voice an octave too high. He realized immediately it was a stupid way to phrase things.
"Levi..." Your voice quivered. It was also higher than usual, and quieter, and sounded like you swallowed a mouthful of rocks.
He was much faster to bridge the gap between you after hearing that. He didn't know why. Leviathan didn't like hearing your voice that way. Couldn't you speak normally?
He extended a hand, the only thing he was able to offer in the moment. You took it and more, stumbling into him and burying a tear-streaked face in his jacket.
"Woah, woah! Okay! You...! Ghh!"
Your hands trembled and your shoulders shook. It was really awkward. Leviathan's fake smile fell away, he was lost and concerned and confused. There was no manual on what to do with a sad human. Demons were usually the ones causing the tears in the first place. There was no good reason to know how to cure them until now.
What would they do in those human anime? Leviathan put a soft hand on your back, slowly, like you would fall apart if he did something wrong.
"Hey, uh, I'm here for you. Okay? Don't cry... Or, maybe do? Let it all out."
You started crying harder. Oh no. Oh damn. That was bad, right? It had to be. He messed up. At this rate, Leviathan was going to stress out and start tearing up himself. He needed a new plan.
He decided you were gonna cry it all out. Leviathan grabbed you by the waist and pulled you into his shoulder. That'd totally make you cry, right? And then the tears would all come out, and then you'd stop crying, and he could go back to playing Mononoke Land without listening to those awful, terribly sad sounds you were making.
Drops of your tears rolled down Leviathan's shirt. He didn't immediately notice the snot mixed in with it, he was too focused on the irregularity of your breath against his shirt and the way you clung to his jacket, fingers intertwined in the hem. Good thing you couldn't see his face. It was as red as yours.
He gave your back another two pats. It just felt like the right thing to do at that moment. Your body shuddered with another large sob and you nuzzled your face against him. Damn. Leviathan thought he really sucked at this.
ââŠSpeaking of âtroublesome,â I see the Celestial Realm is once again meddling in our affairs. Some things never change. As someone who has forged a bond of fate with the seven of them, ___ will surely side with the Devildom.â
âHm? Did you say something, Barbatos?â
âNo, nothing.â
â Barbatos and Diavolo (Nightbringer chapter 60-8 Hard)
