            it  was  no  secret  that  auriella  and  nadia  didn’t  care  for  each  other  .  granted  ,  auriella  never  really  thought  about  the  girl  nor  did  she  ever  care  about  the  reason  why  nadia  disliked  her  ,  but  that  was  neither  here  nor  there  .  auriella  attending  the  formal  with  rowan  must  have  ruffled  some  feathers  ,  though  ,  and  despite  the  fact  that  the  two  attended  as  nothing  more  than  friends  ,  auriella  wasn’t  going  to  lie  and  say  that  she  didn’t  purposefully  rub  it  in  nadia’s  face  .  call  her  petty  ,  but  it’s  what  she  did  best  .  with  her  curls  piled  on  top  of  her  head  and  dressed  in  a  massively  oversized  shirt  (   that  definitely  wasn’t  her  own  )  with  a  pair  of  nike  bike  shorts  ,  a  thin  sheen  of  sweat  covers  auriella’s  skin  as  she’s  fresh  from  the  gym  when  she  spots  an  all  too  familiar  head  of  blonde  hair  that  she  can’t  help  but  want  to  bother  .  hexagon - shape  framed  ray - ban  sunglasses  are  pulled  from  her  face  as  she  bounds  over  ,  a  light  grin  on  her  bare  features  as  she  speaks  .  ‘  what  a  sight  for  sore  eyes  ,  ’  her  tone  is  honeyed  as  the  words  drip  from  her  brims  .  ‘  i  forgot  to  mention  it  to  you  ,  but  thank  you  so  much  for  letting  rowan  go  to  the  formal  with  me  .  i  must  admit  ,  rooming  with  him  was  the  best  part  .  ’

          the  girl  feels  as  though  she’s  been  in  her  own  world  since  arriving  in  new  orleans  ,  packing  the  few  short  days  with  as  much  sightseeing  ,  food  ,  drinking  ,  music  and  dancing  as  she  possibly  could   .  with  each  passing  year  ,  she  fell  more  and  more  in  love  with  attending  the  formal  ,  and  she  was a  bit  sad  that  this  would  be  her  last  .  running  into  cooper  ,  though  ,  was  a  welcomed  and  pleasant  surprise  ,  a  warm  grin  appearing  on her  features  as  she  took  a  sip  from  the  flute  in  her  hand  .  her  eyebrows  raise  slightly  as  she  hears  that  he  arrived  sans  a  date  .  ‘  wait  ,  really  ?  why  not  ?  ’  auriella  doesn’t  mean  to  sound  like  she’s  prying  .  ‘  if  you  told  me  you  were  coming  without  a  date  ,  rowan  and  i  could  have  invited  you  in  .  we  could  have  come  as  the  formal’s  only  throuple  ,  ’  the  brunette  grins  as  she  moves  to  refill  her  glass  ,  sauntering  up  to  the  male  .  she  does  her  best  at  posing  ,  giving  a  singular  spin  before  she  stops  and  flashes  a  pearly  whit  grin  .  ‘  if  i’m  being  honest  ,  hollywood  has  nothing  on  me  and  that’s  the  truth  ,  honey  .  and  ,  alcohol  was  calling  my  name  so  i  figured  i’d  excuse  myself  from  the festivities  for  a  while .  ’  a  soft  laugh  spills  from  her  lips  as  she  dusts  her  hair  from  her  shoulder  .  ‘  i’ve  been  having  a  lot  of  fun  ,  thank  you  .  i  think  it’s  exactly  what  i  needed  --  sometimes  a  break  from  hworth  is  what  everyone  needs .  ’

       as  the  music  gets  louder  and  the  crowd  of  people  grows  arounds  them  ,  chaise  can’t  help  but  be  reminded  why  she  sticks  closely  with  the  kappas  and  her  circle  of  guy  friends  .  to  say  that  there  were  overly  obnoxious  people  in  the  big  six ,  which  was  10x  worse  enhanced  with  drugs  &  alcohol  in  new  orleans  was  an  understatement  .  after  rolling  her  eyes  at  the  sight  of  a  typical  zeta  who  looked  like  she  was  about  to  pass  out  from  all  the  alcohol  consumption  ,  she  focuses  her  attention  back  to  a  fellow  kappa  .  “  yikes  ,  do  they  ever  learn  or  have  any  plan  to  fix  that  reputation  ?  ”  she  judges  from  afar  ,  taking  another  sip  from  her  cup  as  she  stands  on  the  superior  kappa  soapbox  .  when  the  attention  is  brought  back  to  the  sovereign  and  her  date  ,  chaise  is  nothing  but  open  about  the  current  status  .  nola  had  been  amazing  for  the  two  and  she  was  completely  back  in  the  honeymoon  stage  of  her  relationship  .  “  please  ,  if  i  ever  get  so blindly  in  love  that  i  hit  the  stage  of  a  courthouse  marriage  please  knock  some  sense  into  me  and  remind  me  of  paris  .  ” a  light  laugh  escapes  from  lips  ,  auriella  knowing  all  about  chaises  childhood  dream  of  being  married  in  france  .  the  eagerness  to  know  who  auriella  is  talking  about  rises  when  she  doesn’t  say  exactly  who  she  hopes  to  spend  the  night  with  but  it’s  someone  she’s  known  for  a  long  time  .  “  oh  my  gosh  ,  i  can  totally  see  it  in  your  face  that  you’re  super  into  this  person  .  a  long  time  ?  oh  ,  now  you  have  to  give  me  more  hints  that  that  so  i  can  at  least  guess  .”

          when  auriella  hears  chaise  speak  ,  her  eyes  move  towards  the  target  of  her  statement  .  now  ,  auriella  will  admit  that  she’s  had  her  nights  of  drinking  too  much  and  ending  up  in  someone’s  bed  ,  but  she’d  never  allow  herself  to  be  so  consumed  by  alcohol  she’d  be  ready  to  pass  out  at  the  scene  of  the  party  .  her  shoulders  roll  into  a  slightly  nonchalant  shrug  .  ‘  after  all  these  years  ,  i  doubt  that  will  happen  any  time  soon  .  it’s  a  shame  ,  really  .  ’  despite  the  distaste  that  auriella  held  for  zetas  ,  the  girl  she  considered  to  be  her  sister  had  been  the  one  to  become  a  sister  for  them  ,  and  despite  her  initial  upset  over  the  matter  ,  the  two  were  able  to  remain  friends  .  her  head  tilts  teasingly  as  she  returns  back  to  the  conversation  at  hand  .  she  can’t  help  the  playful  one  that  takes  over  her  speech  ,  placing  a  hand  on  her  hp  as  she  turned  to  her  long - haired  best  friend  .  ‘  are  you  in  fucking  love  ?  ’  she  asks  in  relation  to  chaise’s  words  and  sinks  her  teeth  down  into  her  lower  lip  .  ‘  speaking  of  that  wedding  in  paris  ,  if  i’m  not  your  maid  of  honor  and  you  choose  some  other  bitch  ,  i’ll  haunt  your  dreams  for  the  rest  of  your  life  .  ’  the  brunette  is  purely  messing  with  her  ,  but  she’s  also  serious  .  heat  creeps  into  her  cheeks  as  she  sets  her  empty  glass  aside  and  lets  her  shoulders  roll  into  a  shrug  once  again  .  ‘  he’s  in  fiji  and  not  to  sound  cheesy  or  like  i’m  completely  losing  my  mind  over  him  or  anything  ,  but  i  feel  like  he’s  the  only  person  who  knows  me  best  .  i  mean  ,  we  went  to  high  school  together  and  all  that  but  it’s  different  now  .  at  least  ,  i  think  so  .  ’

          out  of  all  the  events  that  were  hosted  by  the  big  six  ,  anything  that  had  the  word  formal  in  it  was  a  favorite  of  chaise’s  .  it  presented  an  opportunity  for  her  to  dress  up  and  show  out  ,  which  she  usually  always  did  but  even  more  so  when  a  festivity  was  involved  .  the  weekend  had  been  everything  she  wanted  so  far  ,  enjoying  every  minute  with  her  date  and  all  of  her  friends  that  made  it  to  new  orleans  .  now  it  was  time  for  the  grand  finale  of  the  trip  ,  and  she  wanted  to  ensure  that  the  group  left  the  city  with  a  bang  .  allowing  valerio  a  moment  to  catch  up  with  his  brothers  and  take  pictures  ,  the  sovereign  excused  herself  to  the  drink  table  to  meet  up  with  her  best  friend  .  a  perfect  moment  for  a  quick  dance  ,  gossip  sesh  and  selfies  to  hit  every  single  social  media  platform  .  “  so  if  we  both  didn’t  win  best  dressed  tonight  ,  something  is  rigged  .  you  look  stunning  .  ”  she  greets  her  friend  with  a compliment  ,  chocolate  hues  scanning  her  outfit  with  a  genuine  smile  landing  on  her  face  .  “  what  can  i  say  ,  rio  has  been  beyond  good  so  he  deserves to  enjoy  all  of  this  tonight  .  ”  a  light  laugh  escapes  from  her  lips  as  she  signals  where  her  night  was  headed  with  a  playful  wink  .  “  now  SPILL  to  me  who  you’re  looking  to  go  home  with  tonight  .  i’ve  been  in  so  much  suspense  since  our  spa  trip  .  ”

          auriella  had  been  looking  forward  to  the  formal  ,  mostly  because  the  time  she  got  to  dress up  as  she  did  had  been  when  she  attended  her  senior  prom  .  attending  with  one  of  her  very  close  friends  had  been  the  icing  on  the  cake  ,  and  auriella  was  thoroughly  enjoying  herself  .  the  venue  had  been  packed  out  for  the  most  part  ,  from  students  to  staff  ,  and  she  for  the  last  thirty  minutes  ,  had  filled  her  time  with  mingling  on  the  dance  floor  before  joining  in  on  the  shenanigans  .  pulling  herself  away  from  the  crowd  of  football  players  and  her  fellow  kappa  sisters  ,  auriella  makes  her  way  over  to  the  drinks  table  to  find  a  drink  she  so  desperately  needs  .  she  fills  the  tiny  plastic  cup  with  punch  she  very  well  knows  is  spiked  ,  taking  a  sip  as  she  turns  to  face  the  person  standing  next  to  her  .  ‘  well  ,  well  ,  don’t  you  look  like  you  belong  on  the  cover of  vogue  ,  ’  the  brunette  smiles  as  she  speaks  .   ‘  trying  to  bag  a  hot  one  for  tonight  or  is  your  date  the  lucky  one  ?  ’
