If after reading volumes 2 and 3 you're saying, "hey that was cool bro, but what does that have to do with the setup in volume 1?", the answer is "it really doesn't", that's basically why I settled for translating just 3 volumes.
As cool and intriguing as the Shikoku arc (volumes 2 to 6) and the Worldwide arc (volumes 7 to 9) might be, you can easily argue that they barely affect the real story in the series, which is actually: volume 1, the last pages of volume 8, and about half of volume 10. In fact, you could edit the rest of the story after volume 1 in a new final "volume 2", and make the story much more rounded and much less meandering/pointless.
Maybe you can keep Chino in as an ally with a reviving artifact in the EEA, maybe you can keep Bonfire in for the lulz? If you ask me, the focus should have been on Kuu and the threat from Earth, maybe on the Earthians too since they were brought up early on.
This series aside, you should be hearing from me whenever more Kyoko is out…!
