I love Ryan Coogler interviews. He's so smart and knows so much about film. (He did an interview with Kodak about shooting on film and I understood maybe every third word, but it was fascinating.) But he doesn't make any attempt to make himself sound more "white." I am thinking "Sorry to Bother You" and how they had to put on white voices to succeed as a telemarketer.
He drops knowledge and then calls you "bro" and still sounds like people my age who are from Oakland.
[I know "speaking proper" is controversial in the community, so I might delete this--it's not really the point of the blog or my place. But I've never thought assimilating to the white folks' ways ever made much progress. But I was just thinking is so good for kids to see him be 100% himself and be successful and know that they could do that too.]
Interviewer asks "why" he would do Black Panther 3 since he's already proved himself. "I'm not making movies to prove anything. I'm telling stories that I want to tell."
ETA: Longer interview here.
I don't know much about animation, but the art style for Eyes of Wakanda is neat. The hand-painted style looks really pretty and everything gold or metallic has such a cool sheen to it.
#EyesOfWakanda, New poster.
First episodes out now! I haven’t gotten to see them but heard good things. Anyone watch?
Eyes of Wakanda is Coming
mind you, a black director did this all of this. ryan will forever get his flowers from me

… and we still gotta hear “insiders” saying WB’s budget was “too high.”
Marvel announced via its YouTube channel the lineup for Avengers: Doomsday. It includes Letitia Wright and Tenoch Huerta Meija. Filming begins soon.
Letitia has been in Avengers films before but congrats to Tenoch for moving on up in the world.
Rumor has it Marvel is looking to recast Chadwick Boseman's role as T'Challa for Black Panther 3, but is there more to this story than meets
I don't usually post rumors but I have heard this multiple places. Basically, they are looking to have a Variant T'Challa in Avengers: Doomsday be part of the team.
I don't know how I feel about this. I do want Black Panther the superhero to be out there but I kind of wish we could give him another name. This also seems kind of disrespectful to Letitia Wright.
I'd love to see Azzuri, T'Challa's ancestor. Just putting that out there.

Finally some news.
The multi-award-winning actress starred in several South African TV shows and became a household name.

... I would like to see it.
....wait why would they not have already negotiated him for BP3. Then again we know that Marvel doesn't really have their shit together.
I don't think the contract the directors for more than one movie, but I would hate to see a BP3 without him involved somehow. He always said he wanted to do the third one but I think this just means the negotiations are over. I hope they gave him all the money.

Angela Bassett got her Oscar. Couldn't spell her name right in the thumbnail though...
