Just watched season 2 of She-ra, kinda surprised that Catra wasn’t trying to up play how much fun she’s having without Adora more. Also a chance to make some Catra/Scorpia(Catorpia? Scotra?) stuff since there probably wasn’t enough of it.
Other thoughts on the season
-Drunk Adora was cute. CUTE. Sad there was barely any interaction between her and Catra. She will be missed.
-That episode where they’re most of the gang is just pretending to play D&D was really not interesting.
Just started watching She-Ra. Only watched the first season so I’ve delved zero into the fandom yet, but I’m already 100% sure that this little scorpion princess doesn’t get the love she deserves.
I made this a while back and wanted to put it out there before I read that new comic with a rather similar premise. It’s https://tapas.io/series/Twiniverse but I haven’t read it yet. I probably wrote way too much of something poorly proofwriten, but here it is.
Around 14 years ago, Rose and Pearl decided the best way to truly become equals was to both give up their from and give birth to a pair of siblings. This is how Steven and Gretel grow up and learn how much more complex the lives of their mothers were.
Chapter one - Gem Glow
Steven and Gretel walk back in the house discussing how there's no more Cookie Cats, with Steven distraught and Gretel more or less happy. Amy reveals that she has a stash of the things that she's kept in storage and Steven is overwhelmingly happy when he eats one, causing him to accidentally summon a shield. Both Steven and Gretel are excited and Gretel shoves a Cookie Cat inside her to no avail. Suddenly, the Centipeedle attacks, and Amy and Garnet rush outside to kill it. Steven grabs a Cookie Cat and says he'll help too before rushing outside. Gretel says no, it's not the cookie cats dummy, before rushing after him. Garnet tries to tell the kids to get inside, but Steven bothers the beast. Before Steven gets eaten, Gretel jumps in front of him and summons a spear and gets Centi right in the jaw. Congrats all around.
Chapter Two - Holo Cats
Amy is showing the Pair how to shapeshift. Steven manages to turn his finger into a Cat. Gretel manages to summon a holographic Cat. The pair go to Greg, who finds it a bit distressing. Steven tries to impress Greg more by turning his whole arm into a cat. Gretel manages to summon a holographic Pearl. Everyone kinda stares at HoloPearl while Greg explains what/why that is. Steven's Cat arm manages to annoy Holo Pearl, which starts going crazy and chasing after Steven. Steven runs into the car wash, where Greg waits until the right moment to turn on the power washers and pop the holo Pearl. Small lesson of Greg saying that while the powers are cool and useful, they can also be dangerous and need lots of practice.
Chapter Three - Home Video
Connie shows up at the house, Gretel teases the pair about how they're going on a date. Steven brushes her off and calls Lion. Lion goes no where and Gretel says she can control him(due to feeding him Lion Lickers), Steven says she can come along if she can get Lion to go to the theater. When Lion finally decides to warp away, they wind up in Rose's Armory. They argue a bit about 'who's' this and Lion's is for a while before Steven is the first to activate the device. Gretel tries to get Steven off the center piece so she can try to control it, but accidentally activates a training bot instead. The three manage to control the bot and cause it to crash into floor. Gretel peeks down into the broken bit and finds a video labeled for Gretel and Steven. They snatch it and see Rose and Pearl say that they're giving everything they own to the two of them, so be kind to each other and share. Ends with apologizing and hugs.
Chapter Four - Ocean's Wrath
Gretel is starting to be able to pull stuff out of her head, although with very little control. Amethyst and Garnet warn the pair about messing with anything in there, especially after the 'duplicator rod' incident, but Gretel is still really eger to try her new powers. Eventually she pulls out a hand mirror which she can't put back in for some reason. Steven messes around with it and discovers it has the ability to repeat things it hears and has fun with it. Meanwhile, Garnet keeps wandering around thinking that something bad is going to happen but she can't figure out what. She eventually tells the kids to hide in the temple proper while a rather large corrupt gem is coming. The mirror starts freaking out, repeating the phrase 'let out' over and over. The kids eventually go outside, thinking that's what the mirror wants, to see Sugilite barely holding it's own against a giant tentacle beast on the beach. Sugilite tosses the beast away for a moment to tell the kids it's not safe, and Steven tries to argue that it's what the mirror wants. Sugilite recognizes that it's another dangerous artifact and tries to take it away, but Steven manages to hold on to the gem. Lapis pops out and in a split second manages to use the ocean to poof the gem monster and Sugalite.
Chapter Five - Can't go home again
Lapis, having just killed their family, is not very successful at convincing the kids that she's on their side and the Crystal Gems were not very good people. She wants to show them how much better it is on homeworld and eventually drags them to the Galaxy Warp, only to see it's broken. She starts to cry in defeat before small robots start to surround them and eventually repair the Galaxy Warp. When Peridot pops out, Lapis begs her to take her and the kids back to Homeworld. Peridot is taken aback and claims Lapis is a crystal gem, and warns her not to get closer, pointing a blaster at her. Lapis is enraged and brings ocean fists down onto Peridot who barley manages to warp out before the fists break the Galaxy Warp again. Lapis breaks down crying and Steven tries to console her through a very wet bubble. Garnet and Amethyst come through the normal warp and Gretel gets them to not attack while Steven is talking it out. Lapis says something about not belonging anywhere but Garnet walks up and says that she doesn't have to fight, but anyone that homeworld doesn't want is welcome to stay with them.
Chapter Six - Monster Bash
Steven finds Lapis, now healed, sitting on the roof early in the morning, and Steven picks her brain a bit. She's just a bag of worries with finally being free but not leaving. And homeworld thinking that she's a Crystal Gem. And maybe she is one now that she's living with them. Garnet busts out and calls for a team mission, offers Lapis to come along with, which she declines. So Garnet, Amethyst, Gretel and Steven go to a downed homeworld ship in the middle of a jungle to try to find some old weapons. Steven and Gretel start asking questions about homeworld and about the war. Garnet says they won, Amy says it wasn't really a victory since no one survived. Amy spills out that the Corrupted Gems were just like them once before Homeworld made their mark and left. Garnet mentions that Rose also tried healing them but couldn't, and that maybe Steven would have better luck. The machinery of the old ship starts malfunctioning and Steven and Gretel get separated from the other two. They wind up in a pit with a bunch of Centepeedle monsters and while Steven is quick to pull up his shield, Gretel starts to talk with them. She recognizes that they're not exactly threatening and more scared than anything. Steven tries to placate them with food and the group eventually warms up to the kids. They have fun for a moment and then Steven gets the idea to slap on of their gems with spit. It reacts violently and freaks the others out, but Garnet and Amethyst manage to break in at that moment and rescue the kids before they get hurt. Steven looks back and sees a very humanoid gem confused at herself before being whisked away. Once the fighting dies down, Steven asks what they were here for again. Amethyst describes the Rose Cannons, and both Gretel and Steven say that they saw in Greg's storage unit. Garnet confirms and Amy yells out that they came out here for nothing. Steven looks down at the bubbled centepeedle gem he has and says "I think we got something"
Chapter Seven - The Return
Garnet senses the green Hand Ship is arriving and fast. Lapis absconds and Gretel and Steven are told evacuate with the rest of the town. Which they both elect to ignore since it's a stupid decision. The Hand Ship lands with Jasper and Peridot and they try to blast the team with Steven saving them. Jasper jumps back down to fight and destabilizes Garnet and Amethyst, and brags about how she's gonna get rewarded for bringing back the great Rose Quartz before trying to shove a destabilizer into Steven. Which only tickles him. Steven can't stop the giggling fit before tossing up a bubble that throws Jasper aside, but leaves the destabilizer at Steven's feet. Jasper gets up and summons her helmet and says she has to do this the old fashion way before getting punched into the sky by Lapis. Lapis comes back and says that she couldn't stand the idea of the kids getting hurt. Peridot uses this moment to try to insult Lapis and abscond into the ship, but Lapis uses the ocean again to cut right into where Peridot entered, but Peridot manages blast off in an escape pod. But that leaves the Hand Ship without a crew and crashes into the water below.
Chapter Eight - Kindergarten/A-side
Gretel wakes up to Garnet and Lapis arguing about how to find Jasper and Peridot, and weather or not Lapis actually needs to help, since she punted them instead of poofing them. Amethyst just wants to stop arguing and start looking, which Gretel offers to go with. The two warp off and wind up in the kindergarten, Gretel asks why Jasper or Peridot would come here. She says she has no idea but this is where she comes when she wants to get away from Garnet being a bitch. Gretel asks what a Pearl is, Amethyst replies that Pearl was her mom. Gretel says no, what 'A Pearl', like what Jasper called her. Amethyst says, oh, gems have types, there's hundreds of Pearls out there and they were all servants to more important gems, the gems aren't really unique. Gretel asks if her mom was like other Pearls, Amy replies that she wouldn't know. Gretel then asks how she knows there's hundreds of Pearls, Amy replies that its what they tell her, and they also said there's thousands of Amethysts, and she believes that because of all the holes, and she knows that she popped out of that hole right there. Suddenly, Peridot starts running at them full blast, with Garnet close behind yelling at them to get her. Gretel throws a spear, which misses but lets Amy catch her leg with her whip. Peridot starts to fly away with Amethyst still in tow, both of them yelling at each other, until they're disappear over a cliff. Garnet goes to Gretel and wants to congratulate them for finding Peridot, Gretel goes 'haha yeah', then asks what Peridot would be doing here. Garnet says that's a good question, lets look in this hole she opened up. Inside, they find a bunch of small forced fusion experiments and Garnet freaks out and nearly splits into Ruby and Sapphire. This makes Gretel need to pop out a pair of Holo Pearls to protect them while comforting Garnet. Garnet eventually pulls herself together and congratulates Gretel on finally controlling the holo Pearls.
Chapter Nine - Kindergarten/B-side
Steven wakes up to Garnet and Lapis arguing. But Garnet suddenly gets a vision and runs to warp off. Lapis and Steven are alone inside the house and Steven asks if it's ok to ask questions. Lapis asks if Garnet and Amethyst don't tell much. Steven admits that they're not really forthcoming about lots of stuff, plus he's not even sure what questions to ask. Lapis smiles and says it's ok to ask questions. Steven asks if Rose was a good person. Lapis says no. Steven asks what were the gems doing here, and Lapis offers to show him. Steven says ok and the two warp off to the Beta Kindergarten. Lapis goes through and explains that she was part of carving out these canyons, that were eventually used to grow new gems. Of course it was the middle of a war, and the Crystal Gems attacked where the new solders were being grown. She didn't want to fight and tried to escape, but got caught up poofed and shoved into a mirror. They eventually come across a rather large exit hole, and wonder what gem stepped out. Japser speaks up from behind them and says that she was the marvel that came out of that. And that a lot more marvels could have come out of these walls if it wasn't for half rate gems like Lapis and traitorous murderers like Rose. Steven and Lapis both have their weapons out at this point. Jasper just laughs at them, wondering what exactly Lapis could do with a pint, and Rose could do being Pint-sized. Steven tries to say he's not his mom and Jasper disagrees 'You're wrong! You're gonna pay for what you did to this planet, you're going to pay for shattering my diamond!'. Lapis yells to get away, then lunges out but gets grabbed by Jasper, who tosses a few more insults before squeezing her till she poofs. Japser then laughs and marches towards Steven, in his bubble, before saying how she'll shatter him and his friends and it won't be enough to pay for what you did. Steven cries out 'You're wrong!' and his bubble turns into spikes that go straight into Jasper, poofing her. Steven cries while holding a bubbled Jasper and an unbubbled Lapis.
Chapter Ten - Putting it all together
Gretel walks into the bedroom to find Steven sitting on the bed, with Lapis's gem in hand. They debrief each other on what happened. Gretel says they found what Peridot was doing, and that maybe Amethyst caught Peridot. But she that her mom maybe was a slave. Steven says that he found Japser, and poofed her, but that his mom may have shattered someone. And that he got a new power. Gretel says maybe they could show off their powers instead of being sad. Steven says ok and gets in the middle of the room to show off a spike bubble, slightly proud. Gretel’s turn and she summons a Holo Pearl without much effort. Steven remarks that it's slightly different from the holo Pearls he's seen before, with normal looking eyes instead of those diamonds that turn red when angry. Gretel remarks that it feels different too, almost like a long lost memory. Steven asks what happens next in the memory and the holo Pearl starts performing by itself. Just a small little dance, but suddenly a holographic copy of Rose comes into the picture and starts dancing with her. The two watch as they have fun together dancing around and laughing in this happy scene. The kids can't really help to smile along with them, until the two get close enough to start open mouth kissing. The two suddenly retract as the feed cuts out, they remark how they probably shouldn't look up other memories that involve Greg for their own sanity. Steven asks if she has a different memory, or could look it up. Of Pink Diamond being shattered. Gretel says she could try, but ask if Steven really wants to know. Steven says yes, he wants to be sure. Gretel focuses and tries to think for a minute, before a memory of a large gem manifests before them. In the next moment, Rose Quartz does too, then a sword, then the sword slashing into Pink Diamond. Then nothing. Steven holds his head and starts crying. Gretel starts saying nonono, don't cry. Steven says I should cry, my mom killed someone. Gretel says no, something isn't right. The memory isn't playing back like Pearl watched it happened, but was in it. The scene is brought up again, Rose holding the sword right at Pink's belly, but Gretel points to the top of Rose's forehead where a Pearl gem is peaking out from under her hair. Steven asks why, maybe go back to the point leading up to this. Suddenly, the hologram changes to Pink and Pearl inside the palanquin, with Pink calmly explaining how Pearl should shapeshift into Rose, and then poof her and then they'll live as Rose and Pearl happily ever after. Steven can't really help but laugh at the idea they thought they would live happily ever after, after all the wars and eventually themselves giving up their form for kids. Gretel wonders if Pink was Rose and then became Steven and Pearl kept following her all the way though, did she ever really stop being a slave. Steven ends up assuring her that they'll always be brother and sister, no matter what kind of messed up relationship their parents had.
Amethyst burst through the door and shout out "hey look at my cool new boots!", Garnet shouts out "You should have caught the whole Peridot!" "I caught her legs, which is more than you can say!"

Steven Universe: AND READY TO KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS
First is Pink Diamond and what I imagine she would go as for Halloween, which would probably be her buying a basic bitch slutty cat costume at the last minute every year.
Second is White Diamond trying to blend in as a Quartz. Goes about as well as you expect. Slightly inspired by @ask-whitepearl-and-steven
Third is Cowboy Ruby wrangling Fluorite. No I don’t know how to draw horses.
Went past the Halloween isle of my local big box store. Wasn’t impressed with their offerings. So here’s Pearl wondering why her costume has about a third of the fabric it should, in case my scribbles aren’t really that clear.
