ooh i love answering questions. this is from an early version of One Last Time called One Last Ride, which includes Washington’s farewell as well as Hamilton and Washington going to western Pennsylvania to put down the fucking Whiskey Rebellion (“one last ride”). the rebellion was people taking up arms because they refused to pay the new federal tax on distilled spirits, one of the taxes instituted to help pay off the nation’s debt from the Revolutionary War (which those people obviously benefited from, the selfish fuckers). hence Hamilton being so hilariously pissed off.

the recording of One Last Ride that this is from was performed at the Lincoln Center American Songbook series in 2012. (btw @i-may-have-punched-him has posted lots of tracks like this.) there are several short videos if you google “lincoln center american songbook hamilton”. the audio recordings are collectively known as the Hamilton Mixtape and created the earliest Hamilton fans.

“bwuh bwuh bwuh bwuh bwuh” apparently became the “buck buck buck buck buck” in Right Hand Man.

a couple months ago I had a dream where Dolly Madison gave me an award for being the best eighth grader in the world and she pulled out this big book full of laws of eighth graders and was like "this girl broke the eighth grader laws she's the worst eighth grader" and gave her the award for being the worst and for some reason i was really jealous but like I'm not even in the eighth grade I'm a sophomore??? And James Madison (but dressed as herc?) popped in for a second and was like "dolly I gotta go bust that Hamilton for embezzling brb" and left and I thanked Dolly for saving the painting and then I woke up

Here’s “Say No to This” from Hamilton as I see it because of synesthesia, a condition that causes me to see music visually. I love this song and would love to do a bigger version of it!
