And you’re dead, and you’re dead..and..
hey i painted clem again wooop
Wandering back into the main room of the tavern with a sandwich and some cut up apples, she placed it down in front of the young girl and gave her a smile as she sat down opposite to her and rested her elbows on the table. “So, tell me about how you got here, sweetie… you look extremely young.”
Brown eyes glanced up at Tifa, before dropping to the fresh sandwich and apple slices in front of her. Clementine took a generous bite out of the sandwich, though trying her best to eat slow and not let on how hungry she really had been. After a minute or two she settled down, and returned her gaze on Tifa. "....I'm... I'm not really sure how I got here, Tifa. This place is so different from my home.."

//Ahhh I've been so busy lately ;w; I'm sorry if you've been waiting on a reply from me.. I have like 5-6 to do, which I was get to as many as I can after dinner <3
Green eyes followed the path of Clementine’s sight. He swallowed thickly, an unease creeping up his spine and into the back of his neck. Oh, how he feared the dark- His fingers grasped the lantern handle tighter, knuckles beginning to turn white. Tearing his eyes away from the hallway, he looked back down to the child.
“Of course,” Daniel replied, managing to steady his voice despite how he felt just then. “A child shouldn’t be left alone at all.” An orphaned girl; he was surprised she wasn’t more scared of being alone. Perhaps she had turned accustomed to being alone? And that comment of seeing scarier things. Just what had this little girl seen?
“I have my books,” he said, a small smile beginning to form, thankful he’d brought at least some of them when he packed for the journey to Brennenburg. “And Brennenburg has its fair share of books as well. They help me pass the time if need be.” The smile fell away somewhat. “Alexander does not require me to do anything so I have much free time on my hands. I’m afraid I don’t have much to do but read and drink tea.” He laughed a small little laugh. “At times I feel like wife who is waited on hand and foot everyday, with nothing to do but to squander her time.” Sadly, that statement was more true than he cared for it to be. The servants kept him fed and made sure there was a bath ready for him everyday. But, at the very least, he made his own tea most of the time and dressed himself. Regardless that did not stop the tray of afternoon tea from appearing on his desk at the same time with each passing day.
The main difference was that the wife would get to go outside, while Daniel could not remember the last time he been through Brennenburg’s front doors whilst open. He wasn’t allowed to, too dangerous Alexander had said. And Daniel was just not brave enough to attempt it, even while he was left unwatched for long periods of time between the bringing of meals and tea.
Clementine seemed to lighten up at the mentioning of his books, and even the castles own reserve as well. It had been far too long since she had the leisure to lay around and stare at worded pages for hours, but after her world fell apart and the undead had come and taken over everything... Well, it makes you put a lot of other things before reading, that was for sure.
Still, she wondered why all he supposedly did was read and drink tea. Surely there were other things this huge of a castle could offer, right? Though listening to him go on about being waited on hand and foot, made her glance around their surroundings one more time. Other people? Clementine had definately not spotted another person inside since she got gotten here, besides Daniel of course. This puzzled the young girl quite a bit, and she stared back up at him with a very questionable look on her face.
"If there are other people around here like you say... Then where are they, Mister Daniel? I haven't seen anyone else but you around here.." Brown eyes seem to bore into his own, before she dropped her gaze and glanced back down at the shadowy hallway nearby.
"..Don't you think it's a bit odd? It's really quiet here.." And as if to emphasize her point, Clementine went silent so the sounds of the castle could be heard mroe clearly.. Except, there was nothing save for their breathing.
Another child that had lost their parents. If this was Spira, Lulu would have dismissed it as commonplace, but it was not Spira. The people here were happy, though many had escaped some form of misery and strife in their own world, over time they would forget those they had lost and begin to look forward. Kneeling down so that she was eye level with the girl, she allowed her features to soften a touch. “I know how it is to lose a mother and father, I was a little younger than you are now when mine were taken…” For now it seemed best not to pry into her parents demise, that could wait for when they were away from the people that passed them by now.
"Oh.." Clementine's expression faltered for a split second, but was more than enough to show the sadness she felt for the lady whom has suffered nearly the same fate as her. She didn't know what to say though, and knew nothing was ever going to bring her own family back, let alone this stranger's. So she let it go, and opted to change the topic while she could. "So... Uhm.. You haven't had any problems here in this city lately, have you miss... Uh.." She blinked a few times, and stared at the woman curiously. "What's your name anyway, miss?"
No Longer Alone | Clementine & Lilly
“I spent last night in the back of a moving van…” The words seemed ridiculous on her tongue, but such shelter was something she could not afford to ignore. “It’s not far from here. And it’s safe.” Hazel orbs cast down to the grip on her hand. While Lilly and Clementine never shared a strong bond, the older woman could not deny her care for the child—none of the former group could. Such an innocent soul could not be left to face that horrible world alone.
The first step was taken down the asphalt. Lilly was retracing her steps and it did not leave a pleasant feeling. She was supposed to be moving forward, not backward. But if Savannah was all the girl claimed it to be, then the pariah had not intentions of wandering in a walker-infested city.
A moving van sounded a lot better than the last few places she had been sleeping, of which she'd honestly rather not even bring up. But that fact that Lilly said it was close gave her a small sense of relief for the time being. Clementine's grip on the older woman's hand didn't falter in the least either, but her light brown were as attentive as ever as she scanned their surroundings as they pressed onward.
"Hey, Lilly..?" The girl spoke up after quite a few minutes in silence. "Did you get a chance to check around the town you were in? You know.. For like food, or anything we could sue to protect ourselves with..?"
Good Job, Kenny!
I’ll keep you safe.
