James was fixing up his desk and papers, looking forward to heading home back to Abby, when his phone pinged at her text message. He realized they hadn’t gone out in a while. Work had kept them busy and they were very much comfortable just staying at home doing… stuff. The “stuff” is amazing though, so why would we want to go out? James thought as a smirk spread across his face, knowing full well Abby would have hit him because she was familiar with that smirk.
Once he had gotten out of the university, he walked a few blocks to an Italian restaurant to get some takeout and then headed to the park where he sat on a bench and texted Abby that he was waiting. The minute he saw her, he walked up to her and hugged her tight.
“Hey, you okay?” he asked, wrapping his arms around her and placing a kiss on her forehead. “I got Italian,” he said, raising up the paper bag. “I would have gotten ice cream and pudding but I think it’s best we just pass by a store later to get some.”
It had been a rather tiring day at work, like most days lately. Maybe she hadn't had enough sleep lately. And she knew just who to blame. Not that she didn't like their sleepless nights tho. It was all good to Abby. But maybe not too good for her work. She had been lagging lately and had also been feeling rather queasy at work today. So it was a relief that the end of the work day has apptoached, and she can just look forward to resting at home.
The moment she spotted James by the bench, she couldn't help but smile. She never imagined before that she'd find someone like him. And now that he was hers forever, she was definitely more than happy.
She snuggled into him as soon as he wrapped his arms around her. "I'm fine," she mumbled into his chest. "Just tired from work, that's all." She then wrapped her arms around him and looked up at him, dropping a quick kiss on his lips. "How are you?". she asked him in return. "And thanks for getting Italian, by the way. I'm really, really hungry... We should probably grab those ice cream and pudding now," she added, smiling broadly at him.
