Sakamaki Shu's childhood 🦇👑🎻
Was born October 18th during full 🌕 in royal delivery room where every single heir is born. His birth was extremely auspicious and joyous moment for entire 🦇 clan who were eagerly awaiting arrival of the very 1st child of supreme vampire lord.
Every best wet nurses, maids , servants were present including Karlheinz to assist Beatrix's delivery. Beatrix had the easiest delivery compared to Cordelia and Christa
During pregnancy, she didn't hesitate to demand the very best items for her unborn child like: expensive and comfortable baby clothes, expensive and luxurious baby cradle embedded with beautiful sculpture and jewelries , toys like swords, golden ball, foods she craved etc. She didn't hesitate to show off her pregnant belly to Cordelia in form of mockery since Cordelia couldn't lay her finger on Beatrix.
The moment Shu was born, her room was already filled with congratulatory 🎁 from 🦇 nobles and other clans except 🐍.
Young Shu was raised in extreme luxury and extreme care. Maids and servants were readily available for his care and comfort. Beatrix was feeding him on time without delay.
Baby Shu was a calm, easy to deal with and healthy baby who just looked like one of those beautiful cherub babies in paintings and could be easily held by everyone. He loved sleeping, he slept like 12-14 hrs a day. He even had a favorite pillow. His nannies absolutely adored him. Beatrix definitely showed him off to her aristocrat 🦇 friends to show how much cute and adorable her precious heir is.
Shu had early growth sprout. Beatrix loved dressing young Shu in formal royal ass clothes which screamed status. His daily wears suits, boots, bed wear everything was made of high quality fabric which wasn't easy to afford
His comfortable life didn't last long as Beatrix and 🦇 nobles insisted on training him early around 4-5 yrs old.
His damned suffocating schedule began early. During 1/2 of day, he had to learn forcefully- philosophy, politics, maths, physics , various languages like latin, English, Romanian (Yuma/Edgar is Romanian), demon language, 🦇 conduction and other 1/2 consisted him training for ⚔️, ball room dancing, etiquettes etc. Beatrix made sure to hire the best tutors for young Shu. Poor creature rarely had breaks. Not to mention, Beatrix appointed one of the butlers to watch him during study(MB prequel Shu) so he doesn't snooze off during study. Beatrix would often check up on them to see if they’re doing their job properly or not
He kinda read other books too like Joan of arc(HDB Shu ecstasy 7), Books written by Shakespeare, fairytales etc. too for knowledge . After reading those books he kinda wondered what outside world felt like.
Every single time he wanted to go out to play or run into courtyard after finishing his study, servants and his mom would come running restrict him and tell him that "Father's precious heir shouldn't look at the filthy world outside the castle", "what if something happens to the precious heir" (DL Shu Dark Epilogue) and he would be taken back to his room
Young Shu actually tried to befriend servant's children but those children were so fakely cheering him, letting him win, acting as he's somehow superior. Rather than a friend, he felt like he's someone using some poor people for his own entertainment. So he stopped playing with them . Also Beatrix didn't allow him to play for much time. These servant children taught Shu of secret passages of their castle and how to sneak off .
Young Shu was a quick learner and hard worker, his tutors were impressed. But not Beatrix, Beatrix always would encourage him to be best as he’s "the most influential candidate for the next head" (MB Shu Maniac Epilogue)
When Beatrix got pregnant the 2nd time, young Shu was neutral, neither happy or sad. He secretly wished his mother would focus more on baby than him so he could have more free time. I kinda theorize that young Shu was physically around 4-5yrs when Reiji was born.
After Reiji was born , Young Shu thought his mom would focus more on the baby than him. But to his surprise, his mom gave baby Reiji to the wet nurses and maid and kept her focus and attention on him. Beatrix claimed that baby Reiji would become his right hand in future.
Young Shu rarely spent time with young Reiji. Baby Reiji for some reason didn't like Shu. After hitting certain age, they would sometimes discuss a book together or discuss about demon world's maps and important location in it (YB), play a note together at a party where he would play piano 🎻 and Reiji would play 🎹 . But this situations were rare and remained as distant memory
Young Shu didn't like young Reiji's attitude. But didn't hate him yet.
According to Laito, in childhood, Shu, despite his vampire nature, was called an " angel " because of his exemplary behavior as a good boy from a wealthy family(DF Shu dark 6). His good behavior was instilled in him by Beatrix.
Despite looking innocent, young Shu somehow was very cunning and observant who knew how to manipulate, ignore, taunt and use people without them realizing while remaining calm af
Every time Young Shu dared to disobey or wanted to play for longer time, Beatrix would berate him and prolly whipped him, threw him dungeon. Beatrix's cold stare was enough to stop him on his tracks. No wonder he's so irritated by her.
His pressure to be best candidate increased 10 folds after the birth of the triplets.
Although young Shu had the right to inherit the house " for glory and honor ," he didn't want it and didn't see happiness in it, even if all of this fell into his lap at birth (MB Shu Dark Prologue) .
Beatrix wanted to secretly arrange a lavish age coming ceremony for Shu and Reiji , her plan was ruined by Cordelia (YB vol. 1)
Being bored of his suffocating life, he once escaped to a certain village in Romania where he met Edgar aka future Yuma mukami for the 1st time
Edgar surprised to see a nobleman aka little Shu alone in such a dark and deserted place. Edgar offered him a 🤝 and🍎 (MB Shu dark epilogue)/offered young Shu a 🤝 and to teach how to use gun(HDB Shu dark epilogue), and their friendship began.
The next day, he helped his new friend carry firewood, scared off the wolves that were attacking them, and helped himself to an apple, but he didn't admit he was a vampire—he didn't use his power (MB Shu Dark Prologue) . After that, he began sneaking off every day to Edgar, with whom he felt "alive": under the strict supervision of the house, he studied as diligently as possible, despite being increasingly scolded, and with his friend, he learned to grow apples, hunt, and sleep in the forest without fire. He called his entire previous life "unbearable," meaningless: he said and did as he was told—that world now seemed insignificant. Edgar was amazed how an aristocrat could curse his way of life: if only he and his entire village could live in warmth, well-fed, and wear beautiful clothes. (MB Shu dark epilogue
Edgar once gifted young Shu a German shepherd pup but Beatrix ordered the butler to throw it away (DL anime)
Young Shu's escapades lasted a year. He even scrawled his demon name Lillie and Edgar's name in the Sakamaki 🏰abandoned tunnel wall leading to Edgar's village(DF Yuma Maniac Prologue) . Young Shu's frequent disappearance irritated Beatrix(HDB manga) So Young Reiji took the matter to his own hand.
So once Shu decides to invite his friend to the ball, but Edgar, in disguise, is exposed by Reiji, who had previously noticed the two together in the forest. He reminds Shu that humans are food for vampires (MB Shu Maniac Prologue)
Few days later , Little Reiji set fire to Edgar's village while he was teaching Shu to use hunting gun(HDB Shu ecstasy prologue) Edgar ran to fire to save his family while Young Shu stood there shocked then the butler dragged him back to castle(HDB ecstasy Epilogue Shu) while Little Reiji watching the scenario and having his villain moment
After the incident, Beatrix began to notice her son's absent-mindedness, which was reflected in his studies, and Reiji increasingly mocked his brother (MB Shu Maniac Epilogue) . Shu himself returned to the burnt-out village in the hope of seeing Edgar there while in HDB ecstasy Epilogue Shu found his friend burnt to ashes.during one of his visits, Reiji, who happened to be there, blamed Shu for what happened - since then, the boy decided: if he doesn't have anything dear to him, then there is nothing to take away (MB Shu Ecstasy Epilogue) . Poor baby became completely broken after losing his sole true friend .
Beatrix wanted young Shu befriend 🦇aristocrat youths who would help him in future during succession. But young Shu didn't like two face, selfish , greedy nature of those children. They're also jealous of young Shu without knowing his situation telling Shu how lucky he is to be a prince
Though Karlheinz rarely visited Beatrix's side of castle. Sometimes he would visit to check out the condition of sons. He met his father 1st when he's around 7-8 yrs old. He was impressed though not as much as Reiji by his dad's powers, elegance and intelligence . His mother would often say to young Shu how much lucky to be a heir of such an astonishing vampire .
Karlheinz gave his young son, Shu a violin (MB Reiji Dark Epilogue) . It was the best gift, he ever received . It was Karl who hired a tutor to teach him how to play 🎻. When he heard melody from his tutor 🎻 the 1st time, he was in cloud nine and immediately fell in love with classical music. Beatrix at 1st wasn't sure why Karl gave him 🎻 which was associated with human culture. But since it was Karlheinz's decision, she couldn't ask much
This music helped him to cope up with his sorrow, loneliness and coldness, he suffered during extreme pressure of being a heir . Young Shu quickly became an expert at it. His play would touch people's soul. Servants and 🦇 ladies would praise him for his talent
Beatrix liked Shu's playing the violin his father gave him (MB Reiji Dark Epilogue) , and she listened to him perform with other ladies at his birthday party (MB Reiji Dark Epilogue)
Though later that 🎻 was found broken in the castle's inner garden (MB Reiji Maniac Prologue) . That 🎻 was Stradivarius and was expensive af. He got a new one later but nothing beats the 1st item and it's experience.
Once he heard horrible 🎻 playing from other side of castle which felt like screeching. It was young Ayato who was forced to learn violin.
He once actually thought of killing young Reiji by wringing his neck but later discarded the thought as it would be troublesome to deal with dead body.
Beatrix enjoyed throwing lavish parties. Beatrix would often celebrate Shu's birthday lavishly. Young Shu rarely enjoyed these troublesome parties. He was forced to give long ass speech, entertain those annoying nobles, communicate with others, dance with those 🦇 noble ladies, see those annoying suckers sucking upto him and Beatrix
Little Shu was extremely popular amongst 🦇 girlies. Every little 🦇 girl wanted to dance with him during the balls and galas.
1st met his other siblings Young triplets and Subaru through a gala his dad forced to attend along with their moms and their 2nd meeting was through YB incedent
Once young Laito hid candy wrappers in Shu's pocket when young Reiji found out he rebuked Shu. Shu was pretty upset about it. Later to teach young Laito a lesson, he threw a🐛 at Laito's face. Laito never dared to mess with Shu again.
After age coming ceremony, he lost his innocence and expressiveness, he became cold, distant and aloof . No matter how much he was pressurized, he just didn't give a fuck, did whatever he wanted whilst grieving his friends death.
