Writers Block.
Writers block. Every writer has experienced this and it sucks. It’s difficult coming up with topics for the audience because you have to think of what they want to read. If you are wondering, yes I am going through writers block right now. This blog is designed to give advice, boost your self esteem/confidence, and for you to enjoy reading my advice towards situations, but sometimes it’s difficult not to repeat myself with the advice I provide. Tips on getting through being stuck on what you want to talk about are listed below!
Choose a topic and write words/phrases: Once you choose what your topic for you paper or post will be, start writing words related to that topic. For example, let’s say I was planning to write about ‘Being You,’ the types of words I’d write would be, don’t care what others think, keeping doing what you enjoy, stay happy, be YOUnique, don’t hate appreciate, something along those lines would help me get going. After finding what words or phrases you are going to write about it becomes a lot easier writing them into sentences.
Listen to music: Listening to music always works for me. It helps me get into the mood of anything. Whether I’m cleaning, doing homework, blogging, anything you name it! Right now as I’m writing these very words, I’m listening to Ed Sheeran’s song Bloodstream. It allows you to 'escape’ the stress even if you are listening to Hans Zimmer or Sam Smith or J. Cole. When you listen to music that you enjoy to 'get down to’ it gets you going to start writing.
Keep writing: What ever you do, DO NOT stop writing. Even if the first thing that comes in your head is butthole, well don’t write it on the actual paper, but write is on a different paper. The reason why you don’t want to stop writing because then you’ll find yourself over thinking sentences and words. You don’t necessarily have to use huge words to make you look like you know what you are talking about, but as long as you are making sense in what you are writing you are fine. Another reason why you don’t want to stop writing is because you might have this really good sentence in mind but then when you over think it you forget half the sentence of your awesome sentence and you have to go with something that isn’t as awesome as your other sentence.Â
That is all the main advice that I have for you! So next time I have writers block I’ll just list a bunch of words and put them all together! Thank you for reading and I hope all of you had a great Friday and will have an amazing weekend!
