'Majimak Seungbu 2on2: The Legend of Street Basket Ball'
[DOS / MAC] [SOUTH KOREA] [MAGAZINE] [1996]
"An interactive movie game created by Samsung Electronics for Windows 3.1 in 1995, based on the drama of the same name that aired on MBC in 1994. The story is about Kim Seon-jae, a street basketball legend, who, after losing to the duo of Jang Yong-ho and Lee Dong-min, wanders the streets. By chance, he meets Kim Seon-jae, who was playing basketball in the neighborhood. They hit it off and compete in the next street basketball tournament for a revenge match. As mentioned earlier, this game is a adaptation of the MBC drama "The Last Match." In fact, if you look at the ending credits, it says that MBC helped with the production, and it also says that the characters in the game are models from the drama. But the actual content is completely different. First of all, this work is not about college basketball, but about 2-on-2 street basketball. The main characters, including the protagonist, Yoon Cheol-jun, are never specifically mentioned as college students; they simply appear as street basketball players. Yoon Cheol-jun and Kim Seon-jae meet by chance and become teammates. Jang Yong-ho and Lee Dong-min appear as rivals. The original drama's heroine, Jeong Da-seul, is portrayed as Lee Da-seul in this production. Depending on the plot development, their roles are split between main heroine and hostage Dan. (Moreover, unlike the original, Lee Da-seul and Lee Dong-min are portrayed as siblings.) This work is actually a game based on a drama, but it's hard to see it as a proper game. That's because it's not a regular game, but an interactive movie based on playing with QuickTime Player." ~jampuri, personal blog [BMT🤖]
