HELLOOO omg I have so many thoughts on this piece.

The swirls in Ao Bing's design are so yummy!!! I've never thought to draw his ears like that but it's so so cool, I might borrow that...? If that's okay. I love his scales and fangs and overall creature-y look 🥹

Oh gosh. Much to think about the content and framing, of Ao Bing enclosing/entrapping Nezha at the point of his death. It's interesting because with Shangmei Oubing, Nezha is usually depicted as the one in control...

The orb reminds me of looking in a crystal ball to see the future? Like Ao Bing is bearing witness to Nezha's fate. Does he feel vindicated, like "You deserve to die like this for what you did to me," or sympathetic "Even you are destined to suffer, trapped in a greater narrative," or apathetic? Would love to know your thought process op!

(Funnily enough, I was planning to draw something that's kind of similar 😅)

Wahh, your thoughts are spot on! I wanted to reverse the power dynamics normally showcased in Shangmei Oubing within the fandom, with Ao Bing trapping the orb playing Nezha's final breaths as a brief moment of gaining back control. Like, "You ended my life, stripped away my power to protect those that you hold dear, yet that action alone ended with you subjected to such a horrible fate." In a way, Ao Bing almost feels sympathetic for Nezha, but what he feels is honestly up for interpretation!

I'm not very good with explaining the story behind my drawings, but I hope this answers your question! Feel free to ask more if you have any. And thank you SO much for leaving a long comment like this! ♥️♥️✨

AHH I just flew several feet in the air from the sheer beauty of this piece!!

The colours you choose are always so nice :DD There's plenty of red but it's not overpowering, it's overall very vibrant and warm! And I love love the brush stroke-look of Nezha's ribbons!!!

The characters are legible dw! Maybe the only thing is that the 子 can be mistaken for 于.
