Okay, so this last episode was okay. The season as a whole was better than it was the last 2 seasons. (Cult was absolutely awful, don't get me started).

They got incredibly lazy with some of the plot points though and that frustrated me to no end.

Illuminati? (Lazy)

Time travel? (Lazy)

Mallory is JUST the next Supreme? (Seriously? That's all you've got?)

Emily and Timothy just birth the new antichrist at the end with no explanation IN season? (🤨🤨🤨)

I honestly saw theories that were better than some of this writing.

All that said, the first 6 or so episodes were great. After that it was lazy and rushed. The finale was okay, but not great.

The creators should hand over the reigns to competent horror writers, cause I think they're out of imagination fuel.

So I enjoyed this episode more than the last one, mostly because there was no Michael in it. I’ve been oversaturated with that character and I was happy for a break, but I’m still a little underwhelmed.

Why are we repeating the “Who’s the next Supreme?” story that we already did that in season three? After everything they made Cordelia suffer through and her Supremacy only lasts a decade? I’m calling foul.

Also, when are we getting back to the Outpost. We only have three more episodes and I’m hoping beyond all hope that they don’t try and cram the climax of the season into that one episode, because it once again looks like we’re getting a complete flashback episode next week.

Two thoughts, one on each point:

Mallory isn't the next Supreme, she's the Second Coming. God is a woman, right? Regardless, there has to be an opposite to Michael (son of the devil) to defeat him. I don't think they'll just set a time frame for a Supreme's reign only to change it up at the end. If they do make it that simple in the end, then we can be pissed.

As to when will we go back to where we started, I've a thought that maybe this season will bleed into next. If that is indeed the case, I don't see it going back to the Outpost until the last episode. Otherwise, I'd guess episode 9 we'll go back and have a 2 hour finale. I think they'd have to since the penultimate is typically where we see the climax and I don't think they can wrap up this whole backstory next episode. So they'd give us the climax in a 2 hour finale instead, perhaps? I, like you, don't think they have the time in 3 episodes to finish up the loose ends without cramming. So I'm thinking this season and next being connected has merit. I guess we'll see.
