Welcome to WarriorsButNotReally!

This is a fandom-centric blog and the more talkative counterpart to @allofthesecatsaregay , which contains all of my personal designs for the canon characters [and what I use when basing hypokits off of]

My name is Killian but I go by Kira/Kyra as well, due to it being a name I've been using for many years name. I'm a nonbinary trans man and I use he/they/fae pronouns. I'm also aroace.

#Discussions - more disorganized thoughts, though on more certain and specific topics. Ranging from serious to silly to even world building information [from my own headcanons]. Some are more rant-style and those contain information backing up on what has formed my opinion on certain topics.

#Hypos - though the most popular option is to send in ships people would like to see pairs of [which, don't get me wrong, I love doing] there is also the option for AU versions of certain cats [ie what if The Three were born to different parents] AND giving canon couples an extra litter! #Rate My OC! - Another fun OC one - give me your OC and their information and I’ll give my feelings! I’m not going to be scary or harsh, but rather just talk about things I like about the charater[s].

HOWEVER, I do not allow hostility and I will shut down anyone who comes in with a close mind and bitterness. I want this blog to be a safe place for people of all ages who just want to relax and share their feelings.

With the blog getting bigger, I did want to add more information here, as this is the most popular topic of my blog other than the AUs themselves and as such I wanted to add some disclaimers and additional information.

Firstly, I do allow repeat couples! I don't mind making more litters, giving different stories, etc! So if you see a ship I've done and wanted a new take with different kits, feel free to suggest away! [you can even suggest some predetermined plot as long as it doesn't need to become a full AU]

the kits created via hypos are free to use with credit. they aren't my own OCs and more 'free to use' characters

However, there is a blacklist on certain ships, due to my own personal comfort levels. I will not be explaining them on here and the list is subject to being updated at any time. The blacklist will be shown below with other information;

I'm free to remove requests that I have no ideas for / that I don't personally like without needing to explain myself

For the most part I've only needed to remove a small handful of things due to the latter reason, but the former is much more common

I'm also a slow writer with a fulltime job, so trying to stay active can be a bit hard, but I am constantly working on a bare minimum of two projects at a time in hopes that it increases the chances I can get things posted.

I ask that you don't post art/writing alongside that of Fullphilling's. This is for hugely personal reasons, esp since I've noticed their name spreading through the community again.

ngl probably should've made a proper post about leaving for the time being, but...

I'll be entirely honest when I say that I've been taking a mental health break from the Warriors fandom because I ended up overwhelming myself some time ago

and I was just making myself unhappy for the sheer notion that I wanted to make other people happy with my content and that led to some burnout

not sure when I'll become active on this blog again just yet, but it's not out of the question I can promise you that

I've just kind of been in Elder Scrolls brain rot + I've started playing more DnD again because I've always had a deep love of medieval/high fantasy content

in general I'm just spending time with content that has been making me feel better and not being online as much (not including Discord because that's the main way I keep in contact with my friends)

if I end up making Warriors content, I'll be sure to share it here!

(which technically I made a couple things with OCs, but what I did was turn them from Warriors OCs into characters for other fandoms so that probably doesn't count)

I get when people wanna rewrite entire arcs and add/remove characters

but I always find it odd when people, esp in DotC, remove the 'love interest' characters because they dislike their roles when you can just have their arcs be different instead of removing, usually female, characters.

I haven't seen this super often but it feels odd when I do.

with my previous post being said, I did like a lot of Thunder

I kinda expected the one big plot twist involving the RiverClan plot [being vague to avoid spoilers], though I will say it's curious how that came back to bite said character

also, Sunbeam and Frostpaw, my poor girls

one needs to go full no contact with her mother [reading through her chapters brought back a lot of feelings, though I will say that I'm happy she's having independence apart from Nightheart]

and the other needs all kinda of therapy [especially involving said plot twist]

to throw my two cents out there:

what happened to Frostpaw as of Thunder should not and never be compared to forced sterilization

forced sterilization is a racist and ableist practice used to 'cull out imperfection' and was used primarily against people of color and those with disabilities, to put it in the bluntest term I can

and even then, there's more horror to the truth of forced sterilization

however, Frostpaw being tnr [trapped, neutered, returned] is not that and it people are doing more harm than good comparing it

it feels like it's the same people comparing Tigerheartstar's taking over of RiverClan to cultural genocide and it's all giving me the worst headache when I see people talk about it

won't be able to do any trick or treat thing this year cause I am unwell [only a week of having a whole organ removed from my tired body], so apologies to any and all who were hoping for something

it also doesn't help that pre-surgery Killian thought he'd be cute and leave me, post-surgery Killian, with all faer WIPs

just had my first major transitional surgery, so since I have not much better to do, keep an eye out for a comic I'm working on that's Warriors related. It's not ready yet, but I have 6 weeks of recovery time.

something funny I've noticed is that most people who complain about short headcanons/art of Squirrelflight

are often also the same people who treat shorter people [esp people with dwarfism] the same way they accuse people of treating Squilf

aka infantilizing them

she's been described with short legs before the books tend to make her come off as small at times

tho 'short Squilf' haters have said "short legs doesn't mean she's short!" [which wtf does it mean then?]

but also some people do draw her average height and such, which no shame there as long as they're not being an ass about smaller Squirrelflight designs

I'll go through random bursts of studying plants and animals cause my brain is calmed by it

and somehow I always end up coming out with names that would work with the canon Clans because they're plants or animals that can be found in the UK - or at least really close to the UK and I choose to count it because in the end these are for my own headcanon names

and you're good lol it was a visit I had been anxious for and I'm just glad I came out with some good news

and I did! I spent time with friends and family after my doctor visit and got told that I'm looking healthy as I can be, which is a relief
