Dziady (literally it means Forefathers or Grandfathers in this context) is the name of the ancient Slavic feast, celebrated in spring and in autumn (at the turn of October and November) in the memory of the dead relatives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dziady

This feast inspired Adam Mickiewicz (the guy from the painting above), probably the most influential poet (or even writer) in the history of Polish literature, to write “Dziady” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dziady_(poem) - a poetic drama, which remains one of the most important Polish pieces of literature till our days.
