Patrick’s attention was caught by the stranger standing around and looking quite confused and panicked. “Are you alright there? An audition for what?”He couldn’t help but ask.
“An audition for a play. I’m an actor, and I’m about to be unemployed if I miss this.” Tyler sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Sorry, sorry, I’m just very stressed out.”

“If it were up to mine, he’d never see me again.” His father must surely be reveling in his new, childless life. And Ambrose couldn’t blame him, he wasn’t exactly keen on reuniting with him either. If that were a possibility. “Is it? Maybe I should’ve been delivering messages to your parties this whole time. I might actually have had fun.”
“Well if it were up to me, I’d never see mine again. I’m sorry to hear that, though.” Julian offered a sympathetic smile. He often wondered what it was like to be mortal and have actual human problems like that, but he supposed he’d never know. “Who knows, perhaps you’ll get the opportunity one day.”

“A kitty sounds great!” Although a part of him was debating about getting something smaller like a bunny or a hamster, he really liked the sound of a cat. Especially because cats were usually independant. “He sounds adorable! I wish I could meet him. I don’t know many other bears, since there weren’t too many in my human’s room.”
“Oh, wonderful! We have plenty of little kitties looking for a home, I’m sure you’ll be able to find one you’ll love! They’re all so sweet.” She grinned, thrilled at the thought of one of her animals getting a loving home. “Your human’s room? Oh, like Christopher Robin and Evelyn! I had one of those too, but she wasn’t really my human. More of a human friend who came to play sometimes, when she could.”

“Your dad is up yours too?” Ambrose raised an eyebrow. It was almost uncanny, the things they were beginning to have linked. He reckoned a difference was that Adonis never tried to keep him inside, rather shoved him out the door. It was a struggle to sleep in most days with his father nearby. “Really? Sounds horrific. Would it make me start appreciating the fact I’ve never left Athens?”
“Believe me, you have no idea. If he had his way, I’d never leave home.” And up until this point, he’d had his way for a while. That only made Julian even more grateful to be out. “I’m not sure if I’d call it horrific. It’s actually kind of funny to see all the wild and eccentric personalities interacting.” It reminded him a bit of his extended family, now that he thought about it.

Now that made Ambrose laugh wholeheartedly. It was exciting - just not to him. It was more terrifying than entertaining most days. “I’d like to say I’m the same, if I didn’t need money.” But he couldn’t be a complete buzzkill - whatever that meant - he didn’t find everyone insufferable. “Too many interesting people, I think. I wish I could take back half the stuff I’ve seen.”
Hearing Ambrose laugh just made Julian smile a little wider. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been this genuinely happy without his father swooping in to ruin it, and it felt like a giant weight was lifted from his shoulders. “Well, it’s not exactly my choice. My father doesn’t exactly make it easy for me to leave.” He shook his head, letting out a chuckle. “I’m sure. But if you think the characters in Athens are interesting, you should see the people from Thebes. They’re almost a whole new breed.”

She froze, looking at the woman with wide eyes. It was too much of a coincidence, leading more and more to the one possibility, yet such a thing was almost unthinkable. It didn’t make any sense. However, having witnessed some forms of magic in this town, perhaps strange was possible. “Mummy?” Her voice was soft, almost hesitant, different from her usual self-assured nature. “What happened?”
Cruella, for once in her life, was at a loss for words. Never in a million years would she ever think she would have a child in the future, but suddenly being face to face with her was a bit too much for her. “What do you mean, what happened? I was simply minding my business, and now suddenly I’m in a ghastly town with my... child.” She shook her head, pursing her lips together. “I don’t know what happened.”
boyambrose:
“I just can’t believe we haven’t met before.” said Ambrose, genuine awe creeping up on him. “I was a messenger back home. I thought I’d met everyone there was to meet until you.” He absolutely loathed his job, considering he wasn’t exactly made to interact that often with so many people, but it gave him another reason to feel lucky he’d met Julian then. He wouldn’t have likely been nearly as open to conversation if he were on duty.
It hurt to hear him say that they’d never met before, but he knew that was the case and tried not to let his feelings show on his face. “Neither can I.” He replied with a soft smile. “I mean, I suppose it isn’t that surprising. I really don’t get out much.” He let out a soft sigh before raising an eyebrow. “A messenger? That’s exciting. I’ll bet you’ve met lots of interesting people.”
boyambrose:
“It is.” affirmed Ambrose. He would have never been able to imagine someone both from his city and his time in this place too - it seemed simply impossible to him, like it was him against the world. “I don’t think I’ve been this happy in ages.”
A genuine smile tugged at Julian’s lips. “Well, I’m glad you’re happy.” And that was the truth. He never thought he’d get to see Ambrose again, and even if the other man had no idea who he was, just seeing him smile was enough to make the god happy.
boyambrose:
“Oh, thank the Gods…” breathed Ambrose, “I thought I was completely alone here.” His smile grew and he began to register the word ‘toga’, still not entirely used to this new language he was able to speak. “… Toga? I wore those! I-I think? Are we from the same time as well?”
“Yeah... Thank the Gods.” Julian nodded. If any of his aunts or uncles had been responsible for this, he’d have to thank them later. If he was ever able to get home, anyway. “It looks like we are. This really is a wonderful coincidence.”

Ambrose’s natural reaction was to blush, and he did his best to ignore feeling even more flustered at himself. “I wish I heard that sooner. I’d be having a much better time in this place.” His eyes widened considerably upon hearing this and he grew excited quickly, “Really? Greece, Athens - uh, Athens, Greece I mean? That Athens?” he stumbled over his words in his own joy and relief.
Julian could see that Ambrose was starting to get flustered. Such a thing wasn’t unusual, and he actually found it kind of endearing. Another chuckle was let out as he nodded. “Yes, that Athens. You should see me in my old toga, it’s quite a sight to behold.”
boyambrose:
Ambrose couldn’t deny that. Although, he hadn’t actively tried to do anything really. “And for twenty five years I thought I was the most boring thing ever,” he said with a small laugh. “Sorry to be your last resort. I don’t really get much action either. This world is even smaller than Athens, from what I’ve seen.”
Julian returned his small laugh. “Trust me, you’re not.” He ran a hand through his dark curls, a soft smile on his face. “You’re the farthest thing from my last resort, believe me.” He raised an eyebrow, faking surprise. “Small world. I’m from Athens too.”

“ Really that sounds amazing! “ the pup enthused. So far he had met quite a few interesting people around here. “ I think if my teddy was alive he’d be my best friend too! “ he admitted with a chuckle.
“Oh, I’m sure! They really do make the greatest friends.” Addy grinned excitedly. She loved all of her friends dearly, but she knew for a fact that having the support of a teddy bear was amazing.

“Have you met the people around here yet?” Ziggy asked carefully. He wasn’t exactly the best at making new connections. He was very much just happy in his comfort zone. So being in a town where he knew virtually no one and absolutely nothing about, definitely caused him anxiety. “Are they nice?”
“Uh, honestly? Not really. I don’t really get out much, as sad as it sounds.” Alex shrugged. She definitely was a people person, she kind of had to be with all the groups she was involved in, but she was so focused on getting home that she forgot to focus on her present social life. “But the few I’ve met seem cool.”
boyambrose:
“Yeah! Despite me interrupting your walk, heh…” said Ambrose bashfully, pulling his hand away without a second thought. There was an instinct in the very back corner of his mind that willed him to keep their touch for just a moment longer, but it was promptly disregarded as Ambrose didn’t quite understand it. “I’ll- I’ll let you get back to- uh, walking, actually! I don’t want to interrupt anything…” He stepped to the side politely.
“Oh no, please...” Julian shook his head. He didn’t want this conversation to end so soon, but also didn’t want to make it too obvious. “I’m only out here to kill time. This is actually giving me something to do, which is rare in this town.”

When Scott saw the other male freak out, he rose from the bench he was sitting on and walked over. “I hate to break it to you, but you’re going to miss that audition. There’s no way out of this place that I can find.” He replied bluntly.
“What the hell do you mean there’s no way out of this place? I just got off the train, I can just get back on...” Tyler replied before looking around, brows knitted together in confusion. “If I can find the subway station.”

Ambrose smiled in return, glad to not have made an enemy on one of the rare occasions he stepped outside. In fact, it seemed like he’d made an acquaintance instead, which was reassuring despite his awkward nature threatening to make him slip up and ruin everything. “Well, thanks… I’m relieved going outside won’t get me beheaded.” he laughed softly. “Oh! I’m Ambrose.” He extended his arm toward Julian for a handshake.
Julian smiled softly, letting out an involuntary chuckle. He’d missed this, but of course he wouldn’t dare admit it out loud. He knew what his father did, and that Ambrose had no idea who he was or what they’d been through, so when he reached out to shake his hand, the contact felt more like a sensation of pins and needles shooting up his arm than a normal handshake. “It’s a pleasure.”

Everything the woman said technically made sense, and it could very well be that she did not know this woman at all, or anything about what she wanted, yet Mara wasn’t sure what to make of the whole situation. She nodded though. “Right.” What else could she do? Insisting that the other was her mother didn’t seem the most graceful of choices. “My mother is also much older, has henchmen named Jasper and Horace…”
“Jasper and Horace?” Cruella raised an eyebrow, letting out a chuckle. “Those two buffoons? Please, I would hardly trust them to keep themselves upright, let alone-” She cut herself off when she realized exactly what she was saying. Now the odds of this girl’s mother having the same name and knowing two people named Jasper and Horace were impossible. “Oh my God.”
